What was/is your happy weight?

I was very happy at 10st ish when I got married. I had lost weight from almost 13st at that point and felt great, fit and healthy.
I’m now around 10st 7lb but a lot less fit after 2 kids and feel really flabby. Want to aim for around 9st 7lb to counterbalance the muscle loss.
I’m 5ft 4. What about you? Was it at a particular event you felt best?

I think about 11 st or so. I was that weight for years, size 10/12 and maintained it and then it piled on due to binge eating and inactivity. I was 14 and a half stone at the beginning of lockdown and am now down to 12 stone 13, so just over a stone and a half. My goal is to get down to 11 st 4 and then lose the rest really slowly by just having a calorie deficit of just 100 cals a day or so. I have loads of nice clothes in my wardrobe that I will wear when I reach my target and for the first time in ages it feels achievable.

Skyliner001 · 12/06/2020 13:33

8st 6. Currently 8st13 and 5'3"

QueenMabby · 12/06/2020 14:09

9st. Currently 9st 5lb (as of last weigh in a couple of weeks ago) which is not a lot above it but enough that a couple of my fave items of clothing are rather snug so aren’t getting worn.
Basically I’m just eating too much. I need to find a way to change that.

BillyAndTheSillies · 12/06/2020 14:11

12st7lbs at 5'8". Makes me a size 10/12 although now I've had two children since then I have no idea what size I'd be because my body shape has changed massively.

Currently 16st and working on it!

Rebelwithallthecause · 12/06/2020 14:13

9.5 stone at 5ft 4 for me
But I haven’t been that for probably 10 years

I can manage to get down to nearly 10stone with a lot of hard work but I seem to stick naturally at 10.5-11stlne

parentofteen · 12/06/2020 14:22

8 stone 10. Not been there for years. I've been hovering around 9.3-9.9 since losing a stone a year ago. Determined to get back down to 9.

Smarshian · 12/06/2020 18:29

@Rebelwithallthecause I think we are similar. Naturally sit around 10.8-10.10. Trying hard get to 10 stone ish. Would love to be around 9.5-9.7

8st 7lb which I am currently. 5ft 6. Exercise regularly and eat good during the week and slack off a bit at the weekends. Works well for me in terms of maintenance and I feel happiest/most confident this size

Smarshian · 13/06/2020 06:54

@Sherloidbaisherloid can you tell me what a typical days food and exercise look like? I can’t imagine getting to 8st 7lb and being able to maintain it!

MsTSwift · 13/06/2020 07:00

Just reached it 😁 9 st 5 am 5 ft 6. I was 11st 6 a few months ago.

Smarshian · 13/06/2020 07:03

Congratulations @MsTSwift! I’d love to be around that weight. What did you do to lose the weight?

OP posts:
MaidofKent78 · 13/06/2020 07:06

55kg (which is about 8 1/2 stone) & 5'6". I'm a bit above it at the moment - 57 kg but have dropped that from 59.5 kg 3 weeks ago.

Sensible diet, no alcohol and active lifestyle. Run 3 or 4 times a week. Cycle on the others, and do some light weights a couple of days a week.

NurseNancyandDoctorDavid · 13/06/2020 07:06

9st 7 at 5'8", which makes me a small 10, currently 9 12

The8thMonth · 13/06/2020 07:15

8st 7lb and 5'5" is my happy weight.😁 Fluctuates +5lbs during that time of the month.

Generally, just eat sensibly and run after my 3 young boys..... I'm not much of a drinker, so maybe 2 drinks a month. I'm also not into organised exercise but plenty of outdoor family activities

MsTSwift · 13/06/2020 07:16

Had routine medical in autumn weight had crept up was bmi 27 so firmly officially overweight it spurred me on

Intermittent fasting
Cut snacks
Good food I ate before but on smaller plate
Booze weekends only
Turbo bike daily
Upped veg nice salads etc reduced carbs but still have
Still have sweet treats only less of them

Feel great now Bmi 21. Clothes don’t fit though my old size 14 trousers fall down! Now a 10.

Tateypops · 13/06/2020 07:22

9st is my happy weight although I haven’t been there for years. I was hovering between 10-11 stone pre-pregnancy but after DS was born 14 weeks ago I weighed 13.5 stone! Managed to get down to 11st 3lbs but still have a long weigh to go! 10st7 is my first goal as that would mean my bmi was back in the healthy range - once I get there I will slow down my weight loss efforts to a more sustainable and slow loss

Smarshian · 13/06/2020 07:26

@MsTSwift I think my problem is that I do eat generally healthy meals. I tend to snack on chocolate in the evening so have cut that out and stopped drinking for the last 2 weeks. I’ve gone from 11st to 10st 8lb in that time, but most of that was in the first week. I’m happy to continue if I manage to slowly lose a pound or 2 a week.

Lostinbooksandcoffee · 13/06/2020 07:30

I hover around the 8st 7lb mark, and have done for nearly a year. I'm 5"5, and a size 8-10.

Tateypops · 13/06/2020 07:32

I’m with @MsTSwift I do 16:8 intermittent fasting but I also watch my calories - I’m a snacker and don’t like to eat late anyway so I have my main meal at lunch of about 400 calories then I use up to 600 more in snacks in the evening (maybe a light beer) I love cheese and sweet stuff so in the evening instead of having a meal I’ll have some ryvita and Boursin or some babybels - popcorn is great for a sweet tooth but high in fibre and low in calories - I get the sweet and salty proper corn- I also find that not eating past 5pm is more helpful than having a later fasting window as it means food is already part digested but bedtime

TheoneandObi · 13/06/2020 07:34

My happiest weight was 10st but at 54 the extra stone I now carry (I'm tall) helps my face! I consider myself to be at a happy, ideal weight. At 10 stone and 25 years old though I had the frame of a nourished catwalk model. You can't be that at 54!

The8thMonth · 13/06/2020 07:46

I'm also with @MsTSwift but more of a consequence of the kids.

I don't snack, because I don't want them snacking
I don't regularly eat breakfast and "fast" till lunch. Lunch is our main meal.
I eat an early light dinner with the kids so they go to bed on time.
I don't snack in the evenings because I don't want to be cleaning up the kitchen a second time.

coffeandcake30 · 13/06/2020 07:52

Happy weight was 10st but with weight training most days so I felt toned and a size 10! Currently a stone heavier than this with no exercising. Really struggling to shift any weight, and annoyed I should have used the last 3 months to actually stick to a plan to lose a stone at least!!

Pipandmum · 13/06/2020 07:58

After counting calories and exercising a lot I was 10 stone 10 when I met my husband and size 10-12. I am 5' 11" and it was very hard to maintain, especially as his hobby was cooking! I looked good but I did get a few 'you're on the thin side' from guys which floored me after being a size 16-18 before and feeling invisible.
So ideally I'd like to be back down to 11.5 stone maybe 12, and a size 14. I think for my height that would look ok. I'm late 50s I don't need to compare myself with women in their 20-30s!

Ughmaybenot · 13/06/2020 08:10

12st. I’m 5’8 and curvy and being that weight puts me at a lovely 10-12, with a flat stomach but still keeping my boobs, bum and hips. BMI would still say I was overweight but I’ve gone down to 11st7lbs before and while I did look good, I felt it was completely unsustainable and I had to be so strict to try and keep that.
I’m currently 13st7lbs Blush and a 14. Not a bad shape at all, and my boobs are a source of constant distraction for DH, but I do have a bit of a wobbly belly and my hips have taken on a rather gargantuan width 😂
Lockdown has motivated me to eat better but I’ve been unable to go riding (I normally ride most days) so my weight loss hasn’t really gone as well as I’d hoped! It’s on its way tho.

SinglePringle · 13/06/2020 08:10

5’8 and happiest weight is 10’4. I’m a 10-12 at that.

Currently 11’5 down from 11’11 two weeks ago and that puts me in a 12-14.

I’ll be happy to get to 10’7 - am doing Weight Watchers combined with low carbing (lost 4 stone 10 years in the past using this. The extra stone and half have gone on in the last 18 months. Menopause, giving up smoking, family and life stress).
