Awful weekend but ok from yesterday. Trying to avoid gluten and see if it improves matters. Owlina’s menu looks good! I’m also doing the eggs / soup route.
How did your eve go @diege?

OwlinaTree · 07/07/2020 17:53

Ok day here, no running as my ribs are still sore, think I fell over when drunk on Friday night Blush

diege · 08/07/2020 10:38

Be careful owl, sounds painful!
Had a great night thank you (well couple of days). So lovely to be reunited!

Food-wise I tried to be restrained but did give in to a bottle of Buck's Fizz 🤣 and two spring rolls which were bloody gorgeous! Hoping to STS tomorrow being realistic Blush

OwlinaTree · 08/07/2020 12:00

I'll be happy with a STS this week as basically done no exercise.

Glad your reunion went well diege, I'm sure you burnt off the bucks fizz and spring rolls!! Wink

Queenoftheashes · 08/07/2020 16:44

Two spring rolls seems extremely restrained to me...

Desperate for a bloody loss now!

Fabulodosus · 08/07/2020 17:06

Glad you had a nice time diege!

Good luck for tomorrow everyone... I'm at my mum's so will weigh in to find out how much I've put on on fri when home! 🙈🙈🤣🤣

diege · 09/07/2020 07:24

Have scraped a pound off, so very pleased! Just one pound left to get to a stone😊 Slowly getting there!

OwlinaTree · 09/07/2020 07:51

Half a lb off for me! Very pleased!

diege · 09/07/2020 08:21

That's good owl, considering the weekend! You've been very 'on plan' generally though which must count for a lot!
I'm a bit worried about my dp..I did his blood pressure yesterday (mine has been high-ish in the past and have a monitor) and his was high. Not massively, but we were surprised. I put him on the scales, and let's just say I'm worried about his weight... He's very tall and hides it well, but a couple of stone need to shift. He really doesn't want to 'diet' though! 😩 Will have to think creatively!

Queenoftheashes · 09/07/2020 09:11

One off... hopefully the gluten free and alli will start speeding things up.
Well done diege and Owli!
Diege sounds like your DP could just try for some heart-healthy habits if he doesn’t want to diet? Maybe just start making small changes like limiting beer to once a week or trying to eat more fish and less sausages (if/where applicable)?

Queenoftheashes · 09/07/2020 09:11

Fewer sausages, of course

diege · 09/07/2020 09:56

Well done Queen! Yes, I think making healthy substations is the way for now to go for him. Sausages are a great example! Even having the low fat Heck (?) ones would help, as would cutting down on beer, biscuits and chocolate! Something like SW would work well I think, but I'm having to bite my tongue and not come across as overly zealous, which I have a tendency to do when I'm passionate about something!

Queenoftheashes · 09/07/2020 11:48

Thanks diege!
Yes it’s hard as losing fat, as we all know it has to come from within! Heck sausages - I’ve been really enjoying their vegan ones which seem to be made of things like quinoa and veg - I was quite surprised.
My partner would definitely resist if I suggested he do slimming world but things like “why don’t you eat one small bag of pombears and not a family bag so you can get a faster marathon time” seem to help.
Hopefully our healthier lifestyle will stick as we’ve definitely improved overall habits.

diege · 09/07/2020 12:05

I'm hopeful I'll never slip back to my unhealthy ways as feel sorry much better 'in myself' for losing weight.
I'm veggie (a milk-drinking vegan 🤣) so haven't tried Heck sausages but they were always going on about them at SW...will look out for the veggie ones! Love Aldi's cauliflower ones 😊
Yes, I'll try and link dps healthy eating to outcomes- will be more 'why not eat just the one pack of crisps so that you stand a chance of getting up from the sofa on the first attempt' rather than marathon-related 🤣 We don't live together, so will have to take his word for it!

LimeJellyforBrains · 09/07/2020 13:09

One off for me! Grin

I shall look out for those cauli sausages next time I'm in Aldi Diege. Do they make you a bit, um, windy? I love cauli but have had to basically stop eating it out of embarrassment and consideration for others...

Now I'm craving cauli and chick pea curry.

MrsSnitchnose · 09/07/2020 14:32

Well done everyone! STS for me, but could have been much worse. Been bloody starving this week!

On the subject of sausages. I've bought the meat free Richmond ones today for DS to try. My friend (vegan for 25 years) told me they're the closest ones to real sausages she's tasted

diege · 09/07/2020 14:35

Well done Lime! A picture of the cauliflower beauties attached. Only 41 cals each too 😍 As far as I'm aware, no adverse effects and I am usually quite 'prone' shall we say! 🤣

diege · 09/07/2020 14:38

43 caps I mean!
MrsSnitch I've heard good things about the Richmonds! Hope you're not too disheartened with STS - here's to a good week ahead!

MrsSnitchnose · 09/07/2020 14:44

Nah it's fine diege I was expecting it because I've been eating more or less at maintainence this week i've been so hungry. My periods are a bit irregular so it may be nearly time again. Getting stronger every day with my workouts though so that's the main thing.

The Richmond ones are £3 for 16 in Tesco at the minute. Will report back once DS has tried them later

OP posts:
Queenoftheashes · 09/07/2020 15:23

Those aldi ones sounds are intriguing and I also want to try the Richmond ones but haven’t found them yet ... might check my tiny Tesco.

MrsSnitchnose · 09/07/2020 17:37

My Tesco is only a metro one Queen so yours should have them.

Verdict from DS (12) If he was blindfolded and had to tell the difference between them and meat ones he couldn't. Had a bite and can confirm. If I didn't know what they were, I would think they were meat

LimeJellyforBrains · 09/07/2020 18:35

Ooh thanks for that @diege, I shall give them a whirl then! Also amazed at the low calorie count - I could put up with a certain amount of unpleasant side effects for that!

Queenoftheashes · 09/07/2020 21:35

Great news I will try and force myself down tesco then

OwlinaTree · 09/07/2020 22:26

Some good losses this week good, well done. I'm enjoying all the sausage talk, having a BBQ on Saturday so maybe I will try to get some.

Fabulodosus · 09/07/2020 22:43

Well done everyone!

Not tried either of those sausages but will get hold if some... sound perfect for conning the rest of the family!

@diege good to see someone else who describes themselves similarly... I'm a cheese eating vegan 🤣🤣
