My last Christmas overweight

muddledmidget · 25/12/2019 19:54

Having spent the day eating what feels like everything in sight, plus being given a passive aggressive present from my mother in law (I wasn't sure if it might be too big, but I think it will be fine... As I unwrapped it) I'm now determined that this is my last ever Christmas in the overweight BMI category. Currently a stone overweight having lost half a stone recently, and have never been more determined to finally stop putting lose weight on my new year's resolutions list! So next Christmas I will be 2 stone lighter and able to run 10km in an hour. Anyone else feeling podgy and making an early start on new year's resolutions?

I feel the same and was given a passive aggressive present of too big pjs to find they actually fit. Blush I know I've put weight on, but I think this is the wake up call I need. I did slimming world 2 years ago and got to my target, but as soon as I got to that point I gave up as I found it very restrictive and time comsuming.
I dont get chance to do exercise but am always up and about, i'm not the sitting round type of person and my job is like this too (i'm a TA) plus I have dcs with special needs so getting out can be tough.
Ok im waffling now, but I really want this now.

Queenoftheashes · 25/12/2019 20:08

Yup me too

OneDayAtATimex · 25/12/2019 20:09

Me too.

LuckyBug89 · 25/12/2019 20:13

Snap!

muddledmidget · 26/12/2019 10:35

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Have put my fitbit on to charge and have taken stock of the fridge to plan for healthy meals including as much of the leftovers as possible. Not sure how much exercise I'm going to get today as it's raining and blowing a hooley, but the gym reopens tomorrow so will get my stuff together so there are no excuses. Feeling really motivated, if only for the fact I've probably got until Feb half term before seeing DH relatives again, and think of the progress I can make.

I have way too much crap in the house to start just yet, so im just going for smaller portions, and not stuffing my face as I would usually do, then in the new year ill start properly. How bout 7lb loss for feb half term, I think thats doable?

helia · 26/12/2019 19:26

For me too, I hope!

FannyFifer · 26/12/2019 19:29

Last year was my last fat Xmas, I'm now 7 1/2 stone lighter with another half stone to go. Go for it, I've changed my life. X

dimdarkashian · 26/12/2019 19:33

You are only 1 stone overweight and your MIL felt it fine to comment? What a cow.

dimdarkashian · 26/12/2019 19:33

Wow Fanny. Well done

LissJas · 26/12/2019 19:36

Count me in!! I'm about 3 stone overweight, but I've managed to lose around half a stone recently. I am sick and tired of being fat, I look god awful in all the photos - let's be a merry band of brothers (mothers?!) and put every effort into being frickin' stunning next Christmas!

LissJas · 26/12/2019 19:37

Fanny ShockShock** Well done!!

pallisers · 26/12/2019 19:41

Well done Fanny!

I'm in. I need to lose 2 stone to be back where I spent most of my adult life (until perimenopause and very stressful family situation sent me over the edge) but losing a stone would have been in a very good bmi again. I hate the way I look too. I'm going to download the weightwatchers app = my friend who has struggled with weight her whole life, lost 35 pounds on it and is still going strong and looking great. She doesn't feel deprived either.

muddledmidget · 26/12/2019 20:12

Wow Fanny, that's amazing. I would ask your secret, but I think the simple answer is I need to eat less, put more thought into what I'm eating, and move a little more as going to the gym makes me feel healthier, which in turn stops me from wanting to eat so much rubbish

Yep me too I messed around this year with slimming world this year this fat is going!

myfuckingfreezer · 27/12/2019 08:08

Wow @fannyfifer well done! Did you follow any plan?

shreddednips · 27/12/2019 09:04

I need to do the same. I was given a diet book for Christmas (didn't ask for it) and two people have asked me whether I'm pregnant agajn. I am not. It's been a tough year and losing weight just hasn't been on my radar. I actually don't really mind how I look a bit podgier, but I don't feel very healthy at the moment and don't have much energy, and I'm sure my weight has something to do with it. I want to prioritise looking after myself more this year after spending all of last year caring for other people. But it's a shame that people feel it's acceptable to give pointed gifts, very unkind, even worse when you open them in front of others. Good luck everyone Smile

Riv12345 · 27/12/2019 13:44

Well done fanny !!!!
I think the same op, I just had my Christmas do at work I look horrendous on the photos!!! I need to lose at least 2 or 3 stone, I am sick of feeling so uncomfortable too!

Riv12345 · 27/12/2019 13:46

My knees hurt too 😖😖, I've got a treadmill in the garage and an exercise bike but it's being used as a clothes horse, I need to sort myself out

TheLovelyOtherDinosaur · 27/12/2019 13:50

Me too! My little boy is almost 2 and I need to get a grip & stop comfort eating and obsessing over food. I’d rather be happier and healthier. I need to lose approximately 3.5-4stones. I know I just need to be really sensible and aim to exercise at least 3 times per week. Good luck everyone

sparkle789 · 27/12/2019 17:33

I’m in.
I’ve been overweight all my adult life and I’ve had enough. Years of yo-yo dieting and feeling like crap every time I fail and it needs to change.
I’ve spent most of this year trying to diet and am ending the year the same weight I started at. Although it’s good I’ve not gained it’s bloody annoying not to have lost.
My bmi is 30.5 so just in the obese category. I need to lose 2 and a half stone to get to a healthy bmi.

I’m thinking of doing the 5:2 but I’m not totally decided. I need something that I can maintain long term as I will always have to watch my weight. Diet groups don’t work for me I just feel pressured and stressed. If anyone has a good way I’d like to hear it.
Also any good healthy cool books? I’m in a bit of a cooking rut.

motherofgod2 · 27/12/2019 18:31

Me too. I weighed myself yesterday and I'm 2 and a half stone heavier than the top healthy weight for my height. I hate pictures of myself and my clothes are all uncomfortable and make me look fat (because I am) I joined Weight Watchers online today and went shopping for healthy food. Also managed to do a pilates workout I found on YouTube.

Wolveretta · 29/12/2019 18:09

Ok so I weighed myself this morning. I actually wanted to cry. How on earth did I let this happen? Well I know how, I love junk food, and as soon as the kids are in bed I stuff my face.
Today I have eaten quite well, and no chocolate has passed my lips, but I really struggle in the evenings when I self sabotage. I am so determined now.

Cauliflowerpower · 29/12/2019 18:36

I'm joining you! My girls start school this September and I don't want to be the fattest mum at drop off.... or them to be conscious of it. We will also have a holiday abroad which I want to be fitter for so we all have fun!

MapMyMum · 29/12/2019 19:03

Me too! I have a load to lose but I am determined. I have been jumping from slimming club to slimming club for years now and Im bigger than ever.
I have spent a few days trying to get back in touch with my body's hunger cues, and last night I started listening to the Paul McKenna hypnosis gastric band.
We can do this!! Star
