I have done 5 days at 800 cals and moved not one pound! So demoralising.

Generally have been eating the following each day:

B: vegetable juice such as cucumber or celery
L: slice of chicken with about half a cup full of green salad/ mixed veg
D: A Greek yogurt 0% fat OR a two egg cheese omelette

SN: a small glass of red wine
packet of crisps.

All come under 800 cals and low carb too I think.
Any advice??? Feeling very tempted to eat now Cake

That diet is depressing. In saving calories for snack of hot chocolate and pud, you are depriving yourself of calories for proper things like breakfast and a main meal.

Seriously, scrap the hot chocolate, scrap anything with 'diet' written on it, and I'd recommend you scrap anything juiced as well.

If you want a coffee have an espresso.

Get the Fast 800 book and have a look at the recipes in there or just have a look at the ones Michael Mosley has published on the Daily Fail website - I've done most of these and they don't take long and are real food. I think I've made every recipe on this link and they are all lovely:

These meals have got to be tiny.

Your chicken salad at lunch for example must have a small amount of chicken, given that the a chicken breast is around 170kcal . So either you are having very little chicken, in which case you will be hungry or a small salad. Again, the same. The fast 800 recommends a good amount if fat and low carb. That's how you stay full.

Your dinner of cheese omelette, 2 eggs has 120 calories. 30g of cheese, which isn't alot, is over a 100kcal.

And are you really going to feel full and satisfied after a celery and cucumber juice?

fatneedtobelighterhelp · 10/03/2019 13:50

I have quite a small appetite so I can manage the amounts. I'm 5 foot and 11 stone. Short and very fat. I can manage on the food, I just want to see results! As I said before, I have very little time to prep food so it needs to be really quick and easy to sort. Thanks to all who have posted.

With all due respect. I am over weight too. But if you have an appetite, that the above is fine, how did you get over weight?

I am not saying it to be rude. But to be realistic.

FamilyOfAliens · 10/03/2019 13:58

OP, I honestly don’t think that’s healthy way to eat - no wonder you’re craving crisps and wine!

I drastically reduced the amount of cheese in my diet. I never thought I could, but because the rest of my diet was tasty and interesting, I found I didn’t miss it. If I was eating 200 calorie meals I’d have been fantasising about cheese all day.

fatneedtobelighterhelp · 10/03/2019 15:02

How did I get overweight is a good question. I seem to just look at food and put on weight. I usually eat quite small amounts but the weight piles on.

Although to be fair I ate a lot of chocolates and puddings at Christmas and this is the aftermath.

Frecklesonmyarm · 10/03/2019 19:05

I take it, if it's just Christmas weight there isn't much to go.which is why it isn't dropping off.

Well done on the honesty. It's hard to face up to. But being honest is the only way to change it

fatneedtobelighterhelp · 13/03/2019 16:52

So three days in on stricter 800 regime and weighed myself today... still lost nothing. Is this normal? Not even half a pound! Getting slowly demoralised.

OP posts:
fatneedtobelighterhelp · 13/03/2019 16:53

Am I expecting too much? I read posts where people have lost several pounds in one go and me.. nothing shifts.

Tomtontom · 13/03/2019 16:55

What are you eating now, hopefully something different to your original plan?

fatneedtobelighterhelp · 13/03/2019 17:00

Breakfast: full fat yogurt and berries
Lunch: chicken and veg
Dinner: fish/ chicken and veg
Snacks: cappucino & hot chocolate drinks.

No crisps, chocolate, cake, biscuits or alcohol.

OP posts:
fatneedtobelighterhelp · 13/03/2019 17:01

Or cheese omelette with veg instead of fish.

Tomtontom · 13/03/2019 17:03

That's more balanced, are you eating a decent amount at each meal?

It has only been three days.

CabbageHippy · 13/03/2019 17:04

learnt an interesting thing related to alcohol & weight loss recently.

Basically if you consume alcohol it is processed/burned first before anything else so effectively as soon as you drink your body stops burning calories until it has processed the alcohol in your system

Having said that 1 small glass of wine prob doesn't make a huge difference to this but it is also empty calories & may be causing you to be more hungry

CabbageHippy · 13/03/2019 17:04

you also don't look to be eating enough

fatneedtobelighterhelp · 13/03/2019 17:05

I am tracking everything with scales and MFP so not under eating. Portions are okay, I'm not starving. Just still fat

OP posts:
bagpiss · 13/03/2019 17:07

I just came on to say exactly what cabbagehippy said, your body will deal with any alcohol before dealing with any other calories, if you're actually having a glass a day that's probably what's inhibiting your weight loss.

fatneedtobelighterhelp · 13/03/2019 17:11

I'm not drinking any alcohol.

It's early days. Keep going and see how you are doing after a week or two. I find that I sometimes plateau for a week or two on 800 cals which is very frustrating.

Also make sure you are drinking enough water, it can really make a difference.

fatneedtobelighterhelp · 13/03/2019 17:20

Thank you. I'm drinking water too. How much would you say I need? 4 glasses is about what I am managing at the moment.

OP posts:
bagpiss · 13/03/2019 17:23

Sorry, your op said
"SN: a small glass of red wine
packet of crisps."
Which i thought meat snack-daily.

fatneedtobelighterhelp · 13/03/2019 17:25

I've just read that I need to drink 10 glasses of water a day. Do you think that includes herbal tea and diet soda?
