Half a stone off in January

Smarshian · 31/12/2018 12:57

I joined a half a stone thread in June, July and August and then trailed off. Managed to lose almost 2 stone between June and November but then have just ignored what I've eaten since then. A bit terrified to weigh myself but reckon I've put at least half a stone back on.
Will weigh in tomorrow but my aim is to get to 9stone 9. Think I'm currently around 10stone 9/10. Half a stone in January would be a great start and then maybe 3/4 pounds in Feb/March. Anyone want to join? Any method you choose - support thread for all.

Well done pinkii 4 lbs is a brilliant loss.

I've been doing mostly ok. Managed to get in a bit of exercise not alot but more than was doing and still nibbling on a bit of junk but much less than I had been having.

Today is going OK I think. Porridge with strawberries. And one slice of wholemeal with a poached egg and grilled rasher. Sounds like two breakfasts more than a lunch. Dinner will be chicken breast and veggies.

I'm looking forward to my pre pregnancy clothes fitting soon.

Well done @smarshian on your run that is great.
I'll have to get back to running soon too. Haven't run since I was two months pregnant so almost a year ago. Oh it's not going to be easy is it.
It's great to have an event to aim for I find it keeps the motivation up.

Never ending hope you are doing OK.

Must drink more water. Must drink more water Grin

Thanks twobambinos

My weight gain was really down to snacking and junk good, i’ve cut all that out and i feel better for it, although i am tempted by a burger every day Grin

We can all do this! Takes a few days to get i to the habit of something.

Weighed in today lost 2 lbs. So down to 10st 6. This weeks aim move more and drink more water.

Breakfast has been porridge with an apple and cinnamon. I think that's healthy. I'm not sure what lunch and dinner will be today as will be out and about.
What kinds of meals are others eating? Need inspiration

Great work, two.

I put on a skirt this morning and it's definitely looser than before Christmas - whoop whoop! I got a good half hour run yesterday while the dc were at swimming lessons but today I'm in wall to wall meetings and dh is aways so I won't be able to get any exercise in. I fear I may succumb to my pizza longing since its been about 4 days now I want it Blush

Smarshian · 10/01/2019 12:15

Have the pizza, but just have a small bit and lots of salad with it. It’ll stop your craving and won’t ruin your progress!
Went for another run this morning and upped my pace loads so that’s great! X

I had the pizza Blush oh well, today is another start. I ran to the gym and had my weights induction, did some pilates stretching and ran very slowly home again. I will be in major pain tomorrow!

I was also on the 'half a stone' threads last summer - lovely to see it started up again.

I'm in - I had maintained my weight (+/- 2lbs) last Autumn, but slipped in December/over Christmas and put on 7lbs, making me 13st 8lbs on 1 Jan. If I can lose that again in Jan I will be happy.

This thread is gone super quiet have we all given up?

This morning I had porridge didn't put enough milk in so it was too dry and then the baby started acting up so it was aslo cold by the time I got to eat it.

Grabbed lunch in a shop it was past lunch time so the deli looked kind of overdone so had an oat cluster yoghurt thing. So today hasn't been the most exciting at all food wise. Sad really need more inspiration.

Hi two,im still around! I wasn't particularly good over the weekend I'm pms-ing like a bastard but I have made sure to exercise every day, so I had a half hour run on Saturday, hike yesterday and weights at the gym this morning. I'm also going for a walk with a friend this evening. I was a bit more restrained with food today, even though I made bread which is always a challenge Blush. The two exercise sessions should balance it out though!

I’ve been ok. Was supposed to be strict but keep having the odd treat. Still think I’m chipping away at it.
Will see for sure at weigh in tomorrow!

Weighed in this morning and no change since last week. I'm due my period any minute though so that's not a surprise as I always go up a pound or two in advance of that.

Hope your happy with your weigh in Smarshian!

I'm swimming at lunchtime today, hoping to do 1250m.

Good luck at your weigh in smarshian.
Mother at least you aren't up and you'll be down again when af bugs off.

So far so good this week. Got in a walk yesterday with the buggy and went to a class today. Have had porridge with pear and cinnamon for breakfast and now debating what to have for lunch hmmmm maybe some yoghurt. Home made burgers for dinner and will be having the bun too so need to avoid a sandwich for lunch and have no soup in.

I weighed in this morning at 10st 4 so 4lbs down since I started. Definitely feel the second week of this went better than the first so hopefully can keep up the good work.

Keep up the good work everyone. Enjoy that swim mother.

Hi everybody,

May I join in too? Smile

I am hoping to lose a stone taking me from 10.8 to 9.8. I had major orthopaedic surgery 18 months ago and I was told to keep my weight down. Instead my weight has crept up Blush So, I really need to lose weight and quickly.

I have 23 dailies and 28 weeklies. I am using up my dailies but only used 4 weeklies and I'm three days in. Do I have to use up the weeklies? I am worried about it affecting the weight loss.

Thanks in advance!

Yay! Weigh in results! 2.5lb off! I’m really pleased. I think the extra water and running have done it this week. So 3lb down so far this month, down to 10st 5.5lb. Just been for a post weigh in run too.
What’s everyone’s food plan for tomorrow? I’ve got chicken stew for lunch. Breakfast will be small bowl of cornflakes with fruit and a yogurt. Small portion of spaghetti bolognese for dinner.
I find if I have proper filling meals with plenty of fruit and veg and not huge portions that’s my best bet. If I try to cut back too much on meals I end up snacking on loads of extras.

I weighed myself this morning and to my shock i have lost another 2lbs so i am now 11 stone 1lbs. I thought with the last week or so i would have gained back what i had lost. I have been having big meals but snacking so i think that helped.

Back on my low calorie diet this week. Usually have salads for lunch and chicken/fish and veg for dinner.

Have had a slice of birthday cake today a tiny slice. And a packet of crisps. And a hot chicken roll for lunch. Probably not the best day. Skipped dinner because I'm still full from my lunch time feast.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit healthier. Porridge for breakfast and chicken with veggies for dinner so just to decide on lunch.

Well done on the weigh ins pinkii and smashian

I absolutely fell off the wagon with a curry take away last night, BUT, I went for a run this morning, salad and fruit for lunch and bolognese for tea with a small amount of pasta.
That makes up for it right?! X

Smarshian the run definitely makes up for it.

I weighed in this morning down another Lound to 10st 3. That's 5 off already. Will be hard to get the last 2 by then end of the month but will try my best anyway.

How is everyone else doing?

I've charged up my garmin and going to aim for 10k steps a day. Haven't used it since I stopped running last February. Hoping to get back to running in another few weeks so will gradually up the steps now.

I have no idea how but i have managed to lose 8lbs since i started, i’m now 10.8, not sure how reliable my starting weight was because i havent really stuck to a strict diet, was meant to be on a 1200 calorie doet but last week or so been more like 1600-1700 with no exercise

I havent snacked or drank much so i think thats been a great help for me!

I had lost a bit of motivation but seeing the weight this morning made me happy Smile

So obviously we didn’t all keep motivation til the end of the month. I managed to lose 4lb. Not quite what I was after but still positive progress. I’m starting a new Feb thread to try to keep myself motivated- you are all welcome to join!

I did similar to you - about 4lb in the end. But had I not been trying I would have probably put 4lb on so it's still good!

I'll join you on a Feb one and try and be a bit more committed this month Grin
