C'mon Jackie - only another pound at you'll be a nice round 30 loss...

Hey, well done DD and FS, fantastic!

JackieNo · 30/03/2007 10:24

Thanks for sorting the weights Sue. I know - I've been at, and past, that point before. As I always say - better luck this week. But I really really mean it this week (honest, guv).

Well done dottydot and ForcesSweetheart - fantastic losses.

littlemisssensible · 30/03/2007 11:09

Well done Forcesweetheart and Dottydot!

I lost 1lb this week but as we were at the ideal Home exhibition yesterday i didn't get time to post!

I also ate toooo much loverly stuff so I'm gonna be extra careful this week if I want to stay the same/lose a lb or 2! Mind you we dis so a lot of walking so maybe it won't be so bad! (Wish I could say the same of my bank balance!)

JackieNo · 30/03/2007 11:10

Oooh - what did you buy, littlemisssensible?

littlemisssensible · 30/03/2007 11:11

Hmmm, fingers seem to have been affected too!

littlemisssensible · 30/03/2007 11:16

Wel....., wine mostly!!!

Though we did get DH a new extra sharp posh knife for use in the kitchen and a lovely, expensive iron with the steam resovoir underneath, agian for DH! .....Yep, I know, I'm damn lucky to have found a man who loves to cook AND iron!

We got dd some 'magic pens' as advertised on Nick jnr and some revolting bath stuff which turns the water to gel, also as advertised on Nick jnr!

I didn't get any treats.....oh alright I admit it, I got some Baclava and some chocolate coated dates and bananas . Well its fruit isn't it!?!

JackieNo · 30/03/2007 11:18

Mmm - sounds great (and yes, you are very lucky to have a man who loves to cook and iron - DH will cook, and is very good at it, but neither of us like ironing, so it's just as well the cleaners do it every couple of weeks). All fruit, even the wine, of course, so really very healthy choices.

MrsJohnCusack · 30/03/2007 11:33

hello, actually have some time at the PC! so am trawling through threads before DS wakes up and starts demanding things (it's that or tidying the house, I choose the internet...)
well done everyone! - what a good week!

I only have 3 pounds to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy overweight

JackieNo · 30/03/2007 11:35

Hi there MrsJC - how are things? Three pounds to go is amazing - I think you should have a crown of your own .

MrsJohnCusack · 30/03/2007 11:51

things are OK
feeling better re PND
still getting decent amounts of sleep most nights
DS generally a happy little soul. Has already put on over a pound in weight Started rehearsals for show last weekend and managed to leave him and DD with DH successfully for 2 nights. (mind you 13 in a row from the end of next week will be the test!)
Have made some friends I think (! Yay!)
So all in all quite good really. Bit knackered today but then I have a 3 week old - I expect to be tired.

Am seriously thrilled about weight - at least I am starting from the same place as before and not several more stone heavier!

MrsJohnCusack · 30/03/2007 11:52

oooh lovely crown!

JackieNo · 30/03/2007 11:57

Glad the pnd isn't looming too large - do you think nipping it in the bud early has headed it off? I am seriously impressed at how together you are - I know it's generally easier second time around to get your head round the whole having a new baby thing, but to be doing what you are at this stage is amazing.

JackieNo · 30/03/2007 12:02

Oh yes, and well done your DH for coping too. That's brilliant that he's taken it in his stride.

MrsJohnCusack · 30/03/2007 12:07

I am suprised at myself TBH
this week we have done loads. have been out to lunch, to the shops, got to music at 9.15am 25 mins drive away (managed this last week too), went to tea party today (30 minutes walk each way), have visited parents, met 2 other Mnetters at museum in town on Wednesday etc. I keep thinking it can't possibly last...
I think getting in early on the PND front AND making sure I get out and about is really helping.
We've had bad news this week in that ILs are NEVER going to come and visit us as MIL says it will kill her so DH is very upset and it's all extremely difficult. However he has been taken on by a temp agency and should be getting some work (so MONEY! soon) so things are in general looking up a bit for us. I am certainly doing much better than a week ago but each day at a time....!

JackieNo · 30/03/2007 12:11

THat's great - the getting out and about is always a good thing to stop you going stir crazy.

What a shame about the ILs - did they hint at this before you left at all? Why would it kill her?

MrsJohnCusack · 30/03/2007 12:24

her heart problems have resurfaced - 1 week before they were due to arrive (and only a day or two before they were due to leave, as had a 2 day stopover)

I may sound like a cow, and she does have a bad heart, but why does it have to be last minute like this? every time. Am so sad for DH and the children. We will have to go back to UK soonish, but no idea how to pay for it! I think she would be able to come, except as she doesn't really want to, she gets v.stressed about it and so makes her heart thing worse. FIL would LOVE to come but she will never let him come on his own. I knew they wouldn't come - she always throws a sickie if she doesn't want to do something, and they have always let her get away with that so it's probably too late now to change anything.

Ramble, ramble, ramble, but honestly....poor old DH. Not trying to pull their usual guilt trip on him at all

I am always ranting away on here. I want to help other people on this thread as they're always listening to me! Maybe I will have more time in a few weeks (after the show). Given up helping people on other threads (usually emigrating to NZ or PND/antidepressants) as I always either kill the thread or get ignored!

JackieNo · 30/03/2007 12:27

Sounds like a difficult one to get round. Poor DH, must be difficult for him. Can you get a webcam, or would they not be able to cope with the technology?

And it doesn't feel as if you're ranting - you're telling us how you're doing.

MrsJohnCusack · 30/03/2007 12:34

we do webcam twice a week
except at the moment MIL 'too upset' to do it

I post loads of photos on my website for them (have just spent the evening putting a load more on) but I think they often don't look as 'too upsetting'. Then all of a sudden they demand loads!

I am just fed up with them. Everything is such a bloody drama.

guess what - my sister and husband are moving to Wellington very soon for at least 2 years, completely coincidentally! It's not close, but it's the same country! feel really sorry for my poor nieces though, as their other cousins live in NZ too (again nothing to do with us - SIL's brother married an NZer).

Anyhow, am going to attempt to wake DS up, feed him and go to bed now. Thanks for the chat! Hope all is well your end and to chat more soon

JackieNo · 30/03/2007 12:37

Wow - nice to have them in the same country, even if not close. 'too upsetting'. Oh well - you're giving them every chance to see pics and have contact, they can't complain if they don't use the chances (well they can, but they shouldn't). Sleep well.

suejonez · 30/03/2007 19:45

MIL sounds like she needs a boot up the jacksie even with heart trouble

Sue!

I'm feeling very virtuous having had an omlette for lunch (as long as I don't mention the wine and chocolate last night I'll be OK... ), but hopefully am on track to stay the same this week/lose a lb.

Hope WWB's doing OK - I miss her.

Dottydot · 31/03/2007 13:52

Mrs JC - sounds like you're doing brilliantly! PND is such a horrible thing to have to go through but you sound like you're doing everything you can to beat it - the going out and about is very good - I used to struggle to get to the local shops when I'd just had ds2!

JackieNo · 02/04/2007 09:09

Hope everyone had a good weekend. It was DH's birthday on Saturday, so we had a curry in the evening, and went out for Sunday lunch yesterday. I also had a sneaky weigh yesterday, and have definitely put on. I think it's actually the previous week catching up with me (vast quantities of chocolate). Doubt I can lose it by Thursday. But it's given me the motivation to try harder now, even if it doesn't pay off till next week.

suejonez · 02/04/2007 09:30

I had a good weekend but not a slimming one - DS is waking at night again so I'm tired (and therefore eat more ). BUgger.
