C'mon Jackie - only another pound at you'll be a nice round 30 loss...

JackieNo · 02/04/2007 09:34

You have my sympathies, sue. Sooo difficult to cope with being exhausted and trying to eat healthily - can you stock up with healthy-ish fast treats at all umm - dried fruit (OK, high in sugar, but easy to snack on), other fruit, nuts (almost typed 'nits' there), those little chantenay carrots?

Dottydot · 02/04/2007 11:20

Sue - I'm with you as well... At the moment where I work it's really (really) stressful and most other people seem to be losing weight - but I just pile it on when I'm tired/stressed because I eat for England...

So I'm going to be really hypocritical and suggest things like strawberries and grapes?!

suejonez · 02/04/2007 11:36

does carrot cake count? COs I had a pile of that over the weekend. Work is stressful too and I'm up to four days this week so a bit stressed generally which doesn't help. What do you do at work Dotty?

OP posts:
JackieNo · 02/04/2007 11:47

Not sure that carrot cake does count, sorry. But very yummy. I find that if I have something healthy in the house, I can at least persuade myself to eat it before I'll allow myself to move on to the unhealthy stuff, and sometimes just eating it helps me not eat the unhealthy stuff (dreadful sentence, sorry).

I'll admit to a load of profiteroles on Saturday night too, though I did give DH two-thirds of the chocolate sauce, and only (only) had one-third of it myself. Also when we were out for lunch yesterday, I had pudding, but it was fruit (let's not mention the greek yoghurt and honey that came with it, though).

Dottydot · 02/04/2007 12:19

I work in the NHS - don't know if you've read or seen in the news about the junior doctors recently - they've been marching in London because their recruitment system's gone horribly wrong - well I'm trying to implement it for Manchester and Cumbria and Lancashire!

Very stressful and involves lots of long days, weekends and sleepless nights...

JackieNo · 02/04/2007 12:25

dottydot. Poor you, and sue too.

suejonez · 02/04/2007 12:25

yes I read about it - crickey don;t envy you that one. I can see why you're having a stessful time - are you having to deal with irate doctors ?

OP posts:
Dottydot · 02/04/2007 15:31

Oh yes - hundreds of them..! Could bore you with how frustrating it all is, but I won't - it'll only make me reach for the M&S chocolate corn flake cakes...

Dottydot · 04/04/2007 21:27

Did I put everyone off with my plethora of posts??!

Am still having a fairly decent week, eating wise, so hope at least to have kept my 5lbs off - probably too much to hope for an acual weight loss...

agalch · 05/04/2007 07:44

Morning ladies

Did post yesterday but lost the thing when pc died on me.For the 1st time ever i don't know if i have gained or lost and tbh i don't give a monkeys!! It's too close to the wedding to be stressing so not bothered today for a change.

Will try to be as good as i can be from now on so i can eat/drink whatever i like on Tuesday without worrying about it.

Will post later what happens.Glad you have had a good week Dotty, hope you are happy with things later on

Had my in-laws just turn up the other day.Me a mess, house a mess trying to organise stuff for the wedding ggrrrrr!!! I really can't stand them. They always come when dp is at work, don't understand that at all.You would think after 6 months abroad they would want to see him too
FIL also made both dd's cry by trying to grab dd1's leg and being right in dds's face. Then was narky when i pointed out that at 2.5 and 8 months neither of them had a clue who "granny and grandd" were.Wish they weren't coming to the wedding

Good luck for the weigh in today everyone

JackieNo · 05/04/2007 09:20

Agalch - hope it all goes well for you on Tuesday. Post pics, please. You'll look gorgeous, I'm sure.

littlemisssensible · 05/04/2007 09:39

Good Luck for Tuesday Agalch! I'm sure it'll all go swimmingly and you're bound to look gorgeous, all brides do!

littlemisssensible · 05/04/2007 09:44

I forgot to weigh this morning Never mind I'll do it tomorrow! Not that I think I'll have lost anything as AF is visiting but thats OK because there's a reason! .........

And it's got absolutely nothing to do with the chocs and cake I've been eating since my birthday last week! I have tried to be good, and DD and Dh have helped by eating as much as possible for me (not sure if I'm pleased or cross about that!)but I hate just throwing food away so I just HAVE to eat it!

JackieNo · 05/04/2007 10:34

I'll weigh later this afternoon. Have just arrived at work to find that I've won an Easter egg, so there's a smallish Maltesers egg sitting on my desk, taunting me. I'm going to crack soon (d'you see what I did there, crack, egg).

Dottydot · 05/04/2007 10:48

ooh Agalch - so close now!!! It gets a bit tense just before a wedding doesn't it..?! Hope you have a wonderful, wonderful day!

I'll be going to WW tonight - hope I've lost something - seems a real shame when I've actually made an effort (and I need to lose a bit so I don't feel so bad about 'helping' ds's with their Easter eggs this weekend... )

JackieNo · 05/04/2007 10:49

(the little packet of maltesers has already gone - didn't take long, did it?)

suejonez · 05/04/2007 11:09

jackie

well I have been hiding behind Dotty on the wierd ailments thread as I have eaten so much once again, though I thinkI've stayed the same which I don;t deserve! I'm off to Isle of Wight for Easter and won;t be watching my weight so fully expect to weigh in heavier next week. Then as Easter is a new beginning and the proper new year is upon us, I will come back with new vigour I have 9lbs to get down through the next stone barrier and that will be my aim.

OP posts:
JackieNo · 05/04/2007 11:11

I know. I have been pretty good for the last few days, and I'd have been fine if it wasn't for that pesky easter egg.

Fauve · 05/04/2007 14:02

I've been completely hopeless and have put on 4lbs And this is on Atkins, the dramatic weight loss diet - only of course I have been off piste, having packets and packets of Boursin, which is allowed but not in industrial quantities. Am now debating whether to give up on Atkins type dieting since it patently doesn't work for me. Only I'd have to go on to some kind of low GI thing, because I do prefer not having the sugar spikes, and ATkins has kept my blood pressure right down, and so my dear GP off my back.

JackieNo · 05/04/2007 14:06

How frustrating, Fauve. Lol at 'off piste' Atkins, though.

You know, there's really not much chocolate in an easter egg, is there . If it's around, I'll eat it. So I've deliberately bought DH and me very small easter eggs, not much bigger than a creme egg, but really nice chocolate.

suejonez · 05/04/2007 14:33

but low GI may work better for you and also keep BP low and GP off your back.

OP posts:
JackieNo · 05/04/2007 16:37

OK - have weighed, and have ended up the same. So if I'd just not weighed at the weekend, I'd have been none the wiser about my pound weight gain (or pound and a half, it looked like, though I jumped off the scales pretty quickly). But then again maybe I wouldn't have had the nudge to be (mostly) virtuous for the last few days, so who knows.

Shall I do the weights this week Sue? (Still missing WigWamBam).

Dottydot · 05/04/2007 20:38

Still plenty of me to hide behind, Sue..!

I'm very and because I've put on 1/2 lb. Have been very good this week, tracked, done aerobics, but it seems my body can't cope with losing weight 2 weeks in a row...

Ho hum. Never mind - will aim to not eat too many easter eggs this weekend...

suejonez · 05/04/2007 22:11

half a pound is nothing - you can get that if you lean slightly on the scales (not that I've tried manipulating the scales )

agalch · 06/04/2007 07:50
