It's Mumsnet Mamas Week 25
To our surprise we're still alive
Turns out that eating less isn't so much of a pest
It makes us look and feel our best!

BR

Demented · 22/06/2004 12:11

You're all very quiet this week!

Am being good (and quiet as fairly busy workwise) - but body seems to have decided it was overgenerous with 5lbs last week and has now stuck at that

bunnyrabbit · 22/06/2004 13:25

oooh Demented, that's very wierd......

DelGirl · 22/06/2004 13:29

I am trying, really I am but it doesn't seem to be working. Probably because i'm spending too much time on here. Got on the scales this morning and it's not shifting. That's what seems to happen with me everytime I try to lose wait. I'm sure some of it must be down to the hormone drugs I keep having for my ivf and post m/c. What do you think? Starting ivf again on Friday....help!

DelGirl · 22/06/2004 13:30

weight not wait! . Do you think wait weighes less than weight

bunnyrabbit · 22/06/2004 13:32

No way....

DelGirl · 22/06/2004 13:32

oh

DelGirl · 22/06/2004 13:32

oh

bunnyrabbit · 22/06/2004 13:45

Are you supposed to be trying to lose weight because of the ivf?

DelGirl · 22/06/2004 13:55

Hi BR - no, not especially but do need to. The nurses always tell me not to worry as I have enough on my plate but would feel better if I could. I am eating healthily, lots of fruit etc but it just doesn't want to shift. I've lost 6lb in the last 3 weeks but should/could have lost more. Oh, well..never mind at least my diet is relatively healthy.

bunnyrabbit · 22/06/2004 15:31

I think that's the main thing. Sounds like you have enough to worry about and shouldn't add anything that's gonna cause you stress.

Demented · 22/06/2004 22:49

I've been a piggywig the last couple of days! Hope it doesn't show on Thursday morning!

Hulababy, are you still with us?

OP posts:
champs · 23/06/2004 01:45

i too am trying hard but my stupid hands keep feeding my face
hopefully i will still have a good loss on friday.

Demented · 23/06/2004 09:51

These hands are sneaky things. Cut them off! That'll boost your loss for the week!

It'S funny you should talk about cutting off appendages.. I've always said that if I ever had that boob job I keep whingeing about I'd probably lose about 2 stone!!

Hulababy · 23/06/2004 10:24

Hi all. Glad you are doing so well.

I have really fallen off wagon recently and not been doing WW at all most of time Sorry. Work been a bit busy, late nights in, busy with family stuff too. All poor excuses I know. I am trying to keep vaguely on track during the week - not successfully at moment.

I am afraid I need some time out for a bit. Hope to be back joining you again when things are a bit more settled at work, and once BIL and SIl are back settled in UK, and my siser has srted out what she is doing too.

MadameButterfly · 25/06/2004 07:57

it is still going down.

LunarSea · 25/06/2004 10:40

I'm still going down too. Really pleased about that as I've never done anything which has been anywhere near this succesful at shifting weight before (must be the threat of having to own up to you all if I don't lose any!). It's a bit scary though that it seems to be working so well at the moment - I'm almost reluctant to change anything I'm doing now in case it suddenly all stops working. Just hoping that it won't be much longer before the weight loss translates into some sort of useful size difference - at the moment it mostly seems to be going from the waist up, which wasn't that bad to start with, and not the bits I need to lose it from - bum, hips and thighs - so I look even more pear shaped than ever. Oh well - I guess it'll happen eventually.

bunnyrabbit · 25/06/2004 10:57

Well done to you two... not so good for me. Managed to put on a pound and don't even know why. Ho hum

BR

Allegra · 25/06/2004 15:29

Not been doing WW for two weeks as on holiday. Didn't put on too much weight which I'm pleased about but it's such an effort to get back into the discipline of counting points again !

roisin · 25/06/2004 15:53

I haven't lost any this week It's odd as I've been very strict, been walking a lot, AND I actually feel slimmer! Oh well, maybe next week.

I'm with Lunarsea in the 'more pear shaped than ever' situation ... though my feet are thinner for some reason?!

DelGirl · 25/06/2004 17:57

Well I managed to lose 1.5lb so i'm quite pleased with that. I've lost count of the number of times ive tried to lose wait since my 1st m/c and haven't been able to get passed the 1st 3/4 lbs so I feel like this is an achievement. Only *** to go....groan! Good luck to all of you for next week. Not sure how i'll do as i'm on hols for a week so....
