Minimins closing down!!

I'm so sad to hear this news this morning!! I have loved that site for so many years and dipped in and out on my many weight loss/struggles/ventures!

Latest speculation is whether minimins plan to open as a paying site. I agree with all your comments made after my posting - I just mentioned it as it was something I read the day before regarding the site, and no, I doubt that would happen in a million years, and neither would I have any part in it.

I do wonder though whether it would be possible (or desirable, even!) to somehow get something onto e.g. Google, to guide people towards the foodfighters' board? I'm not very techy minded, but I think that was how I found the Ketosis thread, by doing a search on there for "minimins close down".

I've only just discovered minimins has closed! Just wondered why no one had replied to any of the threads I follow for a while. Very sad and sudden.

I'm the one who set up Food Fighters and I'm amazed that we've got just over 400 members already. I am looking into how we can get us featuring more highly on Google and trying to find ways to find old members. It's very frustrating that so many people have just lost that lifeline. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

I only just found out. Tried to log in and saw that message. It's the most selfish act I have ever witnessed. What an absolute cow. I would have taken it over at my own expense, but we were not given the chance. What if I started a web forum called minimins2?

I've been a member since June 2007, such a shame it's closed as it helped and supported so many. Mini was a lovely person (I met her at one of the meets some years ago) and totally dedicated to Minimins. She couldn't have taken this decision lightly but I too am baffled as to why it had to close straight away.

Since Minis closed I have found the Social Slimmers forum. Got Pete's recipes over there. I'm so glad he posts them there as I would be lost without Pete's creations. :-)

I used Minimins years ago when I was following SW. I liked it. Have not used it recently though. I will be looking at the new site though as I need to do something about my weight.
