I'm going to jump in aswell girls as I am failing badly. Need to get my finger out. I have a stone gone since last sept but I am just not shifting anything since. I go to sw but getting embarrassing now as I have a good 2 stone to lose . I will weigh in on fri morning for here.

FantasticRik · 04/03/2015 07:36

I liked the old WW plan as well Marnie so perhaps I'll dig my old books out. The new plan doesn't work for me and neither does SW - there seems to be too much food!

Welcome to Play and Last too and anyone else I've missed.

I have a day off today so planning on scrambled eggs for breakfast, not sure for lunch and then (healthy) roast dinner later.

Have a good day all!

WhenMarnieWasThere · 04/03/2015 09:03

It will be my usual lunch of soup today and I will have jacket potato for dinner. With prawn salad if I go and get prawns.... otherwise with tuna and light mayo and coleslaw.

PlayNice · 04/03/2015 09:37

Hey all :). I'm planning Greek yoghurt for breakfast, smoked salmon salad for lunch and Soupologie spinach and kale soup for dinner. Eep. Need to force myself to do my 10,000 steps. Not feeling inspired today.

whothehellknows · 04/03/2015 20:21

I woke up with a tummy bug, so I've been terribly inactive-- but doing exceedingly well on the calories, so hey-ho!

Toowittoowoo · 04/03/2015 20:22

Rik, marine and playnice you guys sound like you have been more successful than me. I'm okay with breakfast (1 thick slice of homemade granary bread), lunch (veggi bean chilli with no carbs) and snacks (2 satsumas and an apple) but then it all goes wrong in the evening ....Turkey keema, a huge pile of brown rice and a glass of wine. Oh dear....I'm also pretty sure that a few squares of chocolate are calling me from the cupboard as well.

I still haven't bought a new pairs of scales either since the kids broke them but good luck to the rest of you for tomorrow's weigh in.

WhenMarnieWasThere · 04/03/2015 21:06

Today is a good diet day.

I got my prawns and enjoyed a lovely plate of jacket potato, prawn salad and salad on the side. Followed by an eat natural bar (love those).

I've been to Zumba and it's helped me clock up over 11,500 steps so far.

I've had some melon since coming back. With a tiny sprinkle of sugar it makes a nice sweet treat. :)

I have plenty of points left and will have earned 3 at zumba so if I do fancy something and get hungry later, then I will have it. But I won't eat it for the sake of it

WONAR · 04/03/2015 22:48

Evening all, welcome newbies Smile and well done on today's meals everyone!

I've done well again today with eating; chicken, rice and veg for lunch with a banana and yoghurt, and a big mixed chicken salad for dinner. (I don't usually eat breakfast which I know is a bad habit I need to change!)

I've got my first LBT class tomorrow which I'm looking forward to, and I've booked aerobics, spinning, and pilates for next week. I don't know if I'll be able to get hold of a pair of scales by tomorrow, but I'll post measurements.

Whothehell - sorry about your tummy bug but every cloud etc...!

Well done to everyone else - TooWit I don't think that sounds too bad! I'm on another 13 hour shift tomorrow and haven't really planned my meals yet.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow. I'm going to weigh in on Friday Confused

PlayNice · 04/03/2015 23:07

Sounds like everyone's doing really well. I just did 90 minutes of yoga but I'm never sure how many calories that actually burns.

PlayNice · 05/03/2015 12:58

I'm low carbing and I had my first proper cravings yesterday. Had to avoid walking past the bakery section of Sainsbury's, lest I find myself leaping for them like a starved animal.

They're gone this morning, thankfully. I'm being v. strict. No fruit or anything.

whothehellknows · 05/03/2015 18:46

No fruit is hard! I'm doing MFP and I keep going over my sugar levels, even though my calories are way too low. There are so many hidden sugars (cottage cheese? Really?) that 1 portion of fruit pushes me over the edge.

Will I ever be allowed bread or cake again?

WONAR · 05/03/2015 22:15

Hi again everyone. I had my first LBT class tonight - it was really hard work but I'm feeling very virtuous tonight. (I've just been standing under a hot shower for half an hour trying to ease my muscles out though...)

I'm not doing a particular diet plan but I'm sticking to salads at the moment. Tonight's dinner was steak, roasted sweet potato and mixed green salad, and I'm having more of it for lunch tomorrow (minus the steak) with a low-fat yoghurt and a banana. I don't know if I could give up fruit!

OP posts:
PlayNice · 05/03/2015 23:36

Sugars in cottage cheese!?! What is the world coming to. Deception and betrayal around every corner.

Yeah, I did actually watch quite an interesting BBC documentary on YouTube today that talked about low carb diets/Atkins. Apparently there's no research to prove that low carb actually makes you lose weight, it's only that more protein makes you feel fuller for longer. The reason people lose weight on 'eat all you want (so long as it's not carbs)' diets is because what they want to eat is under their normal calorie consumption. Feel a bit disheartened passing over the strawberries now!

Do I have you on MFP? I'm TheLightPrincess :).

Congratulations on the LBT class. They're so brutal, especially on a diet. And good on you for getting some nice protein in with your dinner. Maybe I should hunt out my sports bra too...

Thisisthelasttime · 06/03/2015 08:58

Sorry don't have time to read the thread but I weighed in at 13 st 5 this morning , I aim to be 13st 3 next Friday. I ate a pile of rubbish yesterday , so much rubbish ! Anyway that's over now so fingers crossed. Will have a read over posts later.

PlayNice · 06/03/2015 13:26

Awh :(. Don't let slipping up discourage you. Jostling up your diet can even speed weight loss sometimes.

WONAR · 07/03/2015 12:42

I keep learning things from MN. Sugar in cottage cheese, of all things!!! Thank you Nice; I actually bought the steaks before I decided 'right, time to get my butt into gear' but I think I'll still have one as an occasional treat.

I still haven't got a pair of scales but I've measured myself and the results are in - measurements in inches:

waist - 31.5
hips - 40.5
right upper thigh - 25.0
left upper thigh - 25.0
right upper arm - 12.0
left upper arm - 12.0

if I can make any minor differences to that by next Friday I'll be pleased. I'm very stiff and sore today from Thursday's LBT class and it's really hard to bend or sit! I'm going to cancel Tuesday's spin class. I think after a long period of doing no "proper" exercise, 4 classes a week was a little over-ambitious, even if my intentions were good, and I definitely don't want to be this sore almost every day of the week! I can always build up to it if needs be.

Don't be disheartened this, I had a pizza for dinner last night, but it did have some salad on it, haha. Just try and balance it out over the next few days.

Send me good vibes for tomorrow please, lovely dieters. I'm having my mum and sister over for a roast in early celebration of Mother's Day and I'm already drooling over all the food I've bought. Olives, honey roasted cashews, beef, yorkshires, creamed leeks, carrots in garlic butter, baby sweetcorn, potatoes, petit fours and a cheese board.

I want it SO badly.

My plan is to just have the beef, gravy, baby sweetcorn and the leeks. I'm low carbing so I can in theory have the cheese, but I don't want to go too mad. Hopefully if I start off with enthusiasm, nobody will notice me quietly tailing off.

Why do I feel so guilty feeding others when I'm dieting?! It's like by cooking what I'd normally cook for a celebration meal, I'm insidiously trying to fatten them up.

This is the ultimate test for me Blush.

WONAR · 08/03/2015 21:58

you can do it!!! Grin

think of how proud you'll feel afterwards!

OP posts:
WONAR · 08/03/2015 21:59

Drat, I didn't see what time you posted! Well, I hope you managed ok and if not, slip-ups are alright! I had some cake today Blush

OP posts:
PlayNice · 09/03/2015 01:04

I had some wine and more cheese than I should have :(. But I didn't jump entirely off the wagon.

I did manage to watch The Comic Relief Great British Bake Off with leftover petit fours in the same room as me and not eat any, which I'm hoping karmically cancels out the cheese Blush.

WONAR · 10/03/2015 17:33

Haha, well done PlayNice!

Aerobics yesterday was cancelled because the instructor was sick, although I did go in the gym for half an hour on the cross-trainer and exercise bike. In all honesty I lasted 3 minutes on the cross-trainer; I don't know if it was automatically on a hard level or if my thighs are just unused to it (very likely, but I didn't have the same experience on a different cross-trainer).

Unfortunately I saw someone that I really didn't want to see Angry the very short version is; I called the police for advice about him. How dare he be a member of the same gym!!!! I won't let it affect my visits but it was an unexpected and unpleasant shock. Luckily I was with a friend, but I might not be next time.

My stomach has been growling for over an hour thanks to my miserly lunch of salad (just leaves, I had no time to grab anything else this morning), a yoghurt and a banana. It's my dangerous time of day right now, so I might just have dinner really early. Roll on Pilates on Weds, LBT on Thurs...

OP posts:
PlayNice · 10/03/2015 18:14

That is so annoying. I decided to go for a run a few days ago and couldn't find my sports bra. I hate when life ruins your good intentions!

And oh no, you poor thing Flowers. Yeah, don't let it spoil your exercise. Sounds like if he had any decency, he'd find somewhere different to go.

That sounds like a miserable lunch :(. Yeah, an early dinner or a nice snack of something healthy sounds like a really good idea. Don't wanna punish yourself too badly, or push yourself to the point that you break!

I've been watching the Comic Relief Bake Off and I'm having the biggest cake cravings. Fear going to sleep may be the only way to stop myself wanting sugar. Hopefully I'll wake up in a better mood.

Jemmi · 10/03/2015 20:27

Hi........can I join you please? I am fed up of carrying around this extra weight and don't want another Summer of not being able to wear the clothes I would love to. Smile

WONAR · 10/03/2015 20:35

Of course Jemmi, welcome Smile

Oh god Play you have much more willpower than me! Bake Off would push me over the edge! Yesterday a colleague brought in home-made cake with raisins in it (my favourite... well, one of my favourites) and I resisted, but only just.

The miserly lunch was a genuine accident, I was in a hurry and had nothing else I could grab out the fridge - I'll not be making that mistake again, grumble grumble.
