Not sure this should be in weightloss chat as it is not about weight. I have 2 stone to lose, but overall I am really suffering from self esteem issues and have gradually morphed from a generally put-together person to someone to barely gets out of pyjamas. (I work from home). None of my clothes fit. I am unfit. I want to completely overhaul my life.... yet feel like I am having to learn again about healthy eating, exercise, makeup- even how to dress!

Anyone want to join in?

Me - I am 40. 2 stone overweight.

Today I pledge to:

  • go for a 35 minute walk
  • go to my first ever spinning class (eek!)
-blow dry my hair and do my makeup -eat healthily.

Would love some company. :)

Hi everyone So have decided to try 4/3 will stick to no more than 1600 on non fast days as when I calculated what my body actually needs it was only about 60 above this Confused and on fast days no more than 500. Biting the bullet and today and today shall be my first fast day I've already had 3 pints of water. Will try and keep going until late afternoon when I will have egg on toast.

I'm thinking of getting myself a spray tan soon I've never had one before but this thread has made me realise so much how I've let myself go and I really want to make more effort to look nice.

Corn hope today will be an easier day for you, we all have off days remembers the day I ate 3 multipacks of 6 scampi fries and bacon fries only to realise at the end of the feast that they were not suitable for vegetarians

TheRedShoeAndTheFishBowl · 06/03/2015 11:31

26Point that's amazing, well done!
Can I just ask what weight you dropped the 5st off? I'm 14st runs away ashamed and so very unfit but my new technique is to spend all day in a vest top and shorts with the door open to the garden and everytime I get cold, I get up and exercise.
For all you that took up running - how did you start? I'd love to be able to but I honestly think I couldn't manage more than 100 metres. Do you need to buy a running outfit? Did you feel self conscious when you started? I feel self conscious every minute of every day

26Point2Miles · 06/03/2015 11:40

I'm 6 foot tall and was 18 stone and 4 pounds!

26Point2Miles · 06/03/2015 11:43

With the running I started the couch to 5 k programme (c25k)

Then progressed running longer and further and entering races. Was a BIG moment when I ran in daylight and remember the first time I ran publicly wearing Lycra! A cap is your friend if you worry. Cap on and headphones in!

CornChips · 06/03/2015 13:34

5 stone is incredible!

I have just returned from a slow 30 minute walk..... just testing to see if my lungs can cope as am at the tail end of my cold. If I continue to feel well then tomorrow it is back to spinning!

I am in, 38, 2 stone to lose

CornChips · 07/03/2015 11:03

Welcome rusmum!

I went spinning this morning and it went well. Then followed that up by 20 minutes of laps in the pool. Go me! I am feeling very enthusiastic! I am going to shift these two stones. I AM.

Morning everyone!

Hope you are all having a nice weekend. I am up, hair blow-dried, makeup on- even put on eye shadow which is unusual. I am wearing navy blue cords and a navy blue shirt with silver buttons and a pewter necklace. It is hard work finding clothes that fit me!!!!

OP posts:
26Point2Miles · 08/03/2015 20:57

I'm wearing navy too.... And got my 'spring' handbag out!

Busy week at work ahead and silverstone on Sunday! Can't wait

DigApony · 09/03/2015 11:24

Weigh day for me down boots (do t own a scales) 3lb off! So pleased with myself I had to take a photo of my print out in case you think I'm making it up Grin. More determined than ever to be in the 10s by end of March!
Hope everyone is having a good day its horrible weather here so no walks.

CornChips · 09/03/2015 11:32

Yay Dig! I read the printout- a healthy weight range for our height ranges from the 7s to the high 10s! So vast!

I went spinning this morning straight after the school run. Still sitting here in my 'workout clothes' (i.e. leggings and one of DH's holey t-shirts). I am weighing in on Wednesday. Tonight for dinner we are having curried butternut squash soup and bagels.

OP posts:
DigApony · 09/03/2015 11:50

Crazy isn't it corn, I could never imagine myself at 7st, I don't want to be any smaller than 9st 7lb. When I started my BMI was 33 so it has come down.

Your soup sounds lovely where did you get the recipe? I'm having another fast day so egg on toast later for me. Making macaroni cheese for the children which is my favourite meal so very difficult but got myself some 9cal sugar free sweets from aldi earlier so sucking one of those is helping Grin.
When is your weigh day?

CornChips · 09/03/2015 11:59

Hello!

My weigh day was meant to be today but I forgot so will do it Wednesday. Grin

The lowest I have ever been was 8 stone 4. I had people coming up to me in the street telling me to eat, that is how thin I looked. I'd be thrilled at 9 stone 7. Anything in the 9s actually....

My soup is a bit of 'chuck it all in'. Grin It is diced onion,3 ribs celery, 2 sweet potatos, 1 butternut squash, veggie stock and a tablespoon of curry powder. Sometimes I put in a tin of coconut milk also and some chilli flakes, but not today. We went to the pub yesterday and I had a massive vegetarian roast dinner with lots of cauli cheese (bang goes the veganism then!) and vegetables and stuffing. Gorgeous, but I am still full!

OP posts:
DigApony · 09/03/2015 12:33

I Tried going vegan but it was too much not having egg and I have pernicious anaemia so very often I'm exhausted so need to not put too much thought into my meals. I'm getting some hens in a few weeks though . I've been vegetarian since I was 9 so 21 years.
I've never been below 9st since I was a young teenager. I've been stuck at this height since I was 11 I just stopped growing, I was one of the tallest up until then!

CornChips · 10/03/2015 08:43

Having hens is one of my dreams. VERY envious of you! I alternate with vegetarianism/vegan and back again. Sigh.

Gosh I am sore this morning- the spinning is really making itself known! I plan to go for a gentle 30 minute walk at lunchtime. I am also going to the pharmacy today to replace my makeup- it is all old/cracked and yucky.

DigApony · 10/03/2015 09:22

You are doing better than me, I haven't the confidence at present to go to any classes Sad i can manage aqua aerobics though so think I will start that.
Chickens are all my daughter (4) has asked for her birthday Grin. The garden is plenty big enough for two and I'm quite looking forward to it. Have you been a vegetarian/vegan long? My reason is purely for the animals I'm no advert for vegetarian being a healthy diet!

26Point2Miles · 10/03/2015 09:26

Oooh new make up!

I'm off today with a sick dc. So will do my nails which were wrecked at work yesterday. Aching hip today, suspect from climbing ladder at work yesterday, I was up and down and did a 12 hour shift. Going to just potter round. Got a half marathon on Sunday and need it to not be aching for that!!

A healthy eating day planned out so no cheating!

DigApony · 11/03/2015 08:19

How is everyone? Yesterday was a good day but I did wake in the night really hungry for vegetarian sausages wrapped in a cheese slice in a roll with onions and ketchup Grin.

I coloured my hair yesterday I stripped the dark red out and put a bright ginger/red on. It's the colour I used to have it in my early 20s its very drastic but so was the bob after having long hair. I will probably get a few looks but I love it and its definitely helped me feel less mumsy.
Today I can see being a difficult day though the children have been up since 5 and im exhausted. It's doesn't matter what time I put them to bed they are always up early. Sad

CornChips · 11/03/2015 09:10

26 you do half marathons?? I am bowing in front of you!

I am still in my pjs I confess...... have a deadline for work that is killing me. I am a total procrastinator.

I am back to 11 stone 6 this morning! i am furious!!!! I am going to weigh again tomorrow to see if it settles and is a blip. But this week I am committing myself to;

  1. Calorie-free drinks
  2. Eat a bowl of soup 30 minutes before every meal and then halve the size of my meal.

I currently am cooking a curried cauli and parsnip soup- the only veg we have in the house and I hate parsnip so need curry powder to make it palatable.

On a good note...... have managed to reconnect via facebook with a good old friend and we are talking about going to Malayasia next year to see him and his family, which excites me enormously. I never 'got' facebook I do now..... I am finding treasured long-lost friends.

Actually, I really miss proper German hotdogs Dig being veg. Mmmm...... hotdogs, mustard and onions. Yum.

26Point2Miles · 11/03/2015 14:25

Yes, I run a fair bit but because I'm marathon training ( London marathon in 6 weeks) it means I'm always in sweaty sports gear and I'm always hungry!! And I've got bigger thigh and calf muscles now. So it's not easy to stay on top of things. This Sunday's half will only burn me about a days worth of calories, roughly 1400. But it will mean I can't physically eat that much as well as allowed amount, so I'll be hungry for days!

I'm on lunch at work. Broken 2 fingernails this morning already.

CornChips · 17/03/2015 20:21

Hello! How did the half marathon go 26?

Sorry have been awol- had a massive deadline for work that kind of crippled me and so i slipped back into bad eating patterns and felt too embarrassed to admit it. Blush

But, on the plus side I went to a spinning class yesterday AND today. :) I am also almost booking a haircut.... 'almost' in that I know I cannot put it off for much longer. Grin
