From Frump to Fab- anyone in?

Not sure this should be in weightloss chat as it is not about weight. I have 2 stone to lose, but overall I am really suffering from self esteem issues and have gradually morphed from a generally put-together person to someone to barely gets out of pyjamas. (I work from home). None of my clothes fit. I am unfit. I want to completely overhaul my life.... yet feel like I am having to learn again about healthy eating, exercise, makeup- even how to dress!

Anyone want to join in?

Me - I am 40. 2 stone overweight.

Today I pledge to:

  • go for a 35 minute walk
  • go to my first ever spinning class (eek!)
-blow dry my hair and do my makeup -eat healthily.

Would love some company. :)

Sounds lovely corn and it doesn't matter if you relaxed a bit in regards to the eating it helps keep us going I ate a whole bag of minstrels at the cinema
Hi frankie. I've no idea what Instagram is but I wish I had started before pictures and measured.

PopcornFrenzy · 28/02/2015 18:51

Frankie, I've been taking a picture every Monday and I compare it to my first picture, I can definitely see a difference, that's spurring me on.

frankie80 · 28/02/2015 21:40

I don't really understand how instagram works though, is anyone on it? how do you get followers, comment etc?

Would anyone here follow me?

DigApony · 28/02/2015 21:55

I would follow, but I don't even have facebook or a mobile phone so I'm not quite with it. I'm 30 and obviously very behind the times!

frankie80 · 02/03/2015 19:56

Hello again! Sorry for silence...... Was feeling decidedly ropey yesterday- spent the day in leggings and had two naps. Feel grim today, but have to get on with it!

I forgot to weigh in this morning, but on Sunday I was 11 stone 5.4, which means a loss of 0.8 pounds since last Wednesday. :) Will weigh in again tomorrow.

Today I am showered, hair blow-dried and wearing grey trousers, a white shirt, black faux pearls and a steel grey coloured scarf. It does feel odd to 'dress up' when I am at home all day and my only contact with my work colleagues is via the phone! But, I decided that I am worth dressing up for too.

How is everyone?

1lb loss for me so now 11st 5. I'm more than happy with that. Will try harder this week, I'm hoping the weather gets a bit better down here it's been freezing. I need to try harder with the eating smaller portions too.
Been making a real effort to feel better about myself. Bought myself two tunics from fatface and a cardigan. Also been keeping on top of my nails. Done my makeup as I have another st David's day concert later, I even have earrings in!
Hope you are feeling better cornchips, my cold is still lingering on and it's been 3 weeks.

CornChips · 03/03/2015 15:56

There is some sort of bug here too that just takes ages to clear.

I also need smaller portions. I do feel better making more of an effort though...... I am hoping it starts to become automatic soon- need to book myself in for a hair cut and colour also..........

Amazing corn Smile well done. Hopefully we will both be seeing the 10s soon. I had a bad day yesterday too many penguin bars but back with determination. I'm going to take my toddler to the hell which is soft play. I can't stand it and being an introvert it fills me with terror but the 4 mile round trip pushing a 3 stone 2 yr old has got to help, plus I get to look around home bargains Wink. I'm thinking of trying the 4/3 diet.

frankie80 · 04/03/2015 17:53

Have started instagramming my meals if anyone wishes to join me and follow?

CornChips · 04/03/2015 19:24

DigApony · 04/03/2015 21:29

Soft play was fucking awful tough but we survived and today has been a brilliant eating day, I'm feeling positive and by the end of march I aim to be in the 10s. I wore my new cath kidston trainers today and I felt really happy in how I looked for once Smile

DigApony · 05/03/2015 11:09

How is everyone today? After a beautiful sunny spring day yesterday it is cold and raining today. I'm going to brave a walk with ds though because he slept yesterday afternoon for the first time in months and it was bliss Smile. He was in a better mood than usual in the afternoon too so here's to hoping for a repeat today. On track for my eating logged into mfp for the first time in months, removed my nail varnish and reapplied, done my makeup and feeling really good. Fingers crossed for a 2lb loss on Monday.

TheRedShoeAndTheFishBowl · 05/03/2015 13:08

Can I join please?
I'm 27 (gulp!!) and guilty of frumpiness. I too work from home and never get out of my tracksuit bottoms and tshirt. Never put make up and I've been known to just tie my dirty hair in a bun when can't be asked to wash it and blow dry it. Addicted to bread and coke about 4 cans a day
So since Sunday I've only been drinking water (struggling to drink 2l though) and I had no bread or cake - however I've been snacking on fruit to satisfy my sugar cravings. So far I've had combinations of the following for lunch and dinner: omelette (with a tiny bit of bacon and cheese) with salad, tuna salad with sweetcorn and aioli, lamb chops with rocket salad and 2 small roast potatoes , savoy cabbage stir fry with a small portion of italian polenta. And I'm having low fat yoghurt with kellogs fibre 'n fruit in the morning.
I'm shitscared of gym so for now I'm trying to do some exercise at home, I am incredibly unfit and only manage about 20 min a day, today I've done 2 x 20 sit ups and I am so very proud of myself Grin
I've had a wax yesterday (I looked like Yeti Blush ) and tomorrow I'm having my hair done and a spray tan. I also plan to buy a few nice things to wear and some nail varnish on Saturday.

CornChips · 05/03/2015 13:11

I am aiming for the 10s too by the end of March. :) Good luck for Monday! I might make weigh in Days Mondays and Thursdays..... every second day is annoying me!

No exercise for me right now, as I am struggling with my cold which has set off my asthma. But today I am wearing a navy blue dress with a light blue bead necklace and black shoes. Having a bad eating day though........ lots of carbs. Have minestrone soup planned for dinner though, so that is good.

I've got 4 st to lose Hmm
This is going to take a looooooooooong time isn't it?
I'm grateful for any tips

26Point2Miles · 05/03/2015 14:38

I'm still around. just back from getting my hair cut....6 inches off!! same stylr as Dakota Johnson (her from 50 shades film) really like it!! got a fringe for first time in years

eyebrows are def next! maybe tomorrow

had a short run in the sun this morning....according to garmin I did my fastest mile, pleased about that. got my half marathon at Silverstone a week on sunday...mothers day. been training but suffering with not getting enough to eat afterwards, not drinking enough really the day before a long run and feeling cold!! not even loads warmer when running 10 miles +

bought a new top in next yesterday.

was considering a pedicure now my toenails have grown back!(don't ask!) do they hurt?

26Point2Miles · 05/03/2015 14:39

red I shifted 5 stone in 6-7months by low carbing......only thing that works for me. no bread/pastry/pasta/processed/sugar

CornChips · 05/03/2015 21:13

Was that what you did? Last year before I went vegan I did an entire 7 days of low-carb which meant just protein (chicken/fish) with salad. I was still drinking then (alot of wine) and the weight just fell off..... 7 pounds. I keep thinking that might be the key for me, but my current diet is alot of whole grains and veg......

I am all over the place with my diet to be honest. I am sure if I stuck with one regime it would work in the end....
