I need to get back on track after letting things go after having ds.
I am 1 stone overweight and my house was a real tip. I've got some good ideas on sorting my house out and have started on that thanks to help from girls on the housekeeping board and flylady so now to sort out weight etc.
I don't need tips etc as I know I need to eat healthy and do some more exercise but I would like some support and encouragement.
Anyone want to join me in my life revamp?

Ive joined you on the house keeping thread.
Im trying to lose weight too.Im with the lardy ladies group on here.
Have masses of junk to clear out.Would be easier if i had a car i could putit in to take to dump/charity! Bits i sort out tend to end up in black bags waiting to be chucked/charity shopped.Im going to put a bit at a time in a bag each time i wak to the shops and then hand it in the charity shop.
Good luck with it all.

Tyme · 07/08/2006 21:59

Great.
How about we start as soon as possible ie tomorrow?
We have to eat healthy and do at least 15mins exercise a day or equivalent (1/2 an hr every other day etc).
Snack only on fruit.
I'm going to try to stick to 1200 cals a day for the first week, or 16 ww points.
How about everyone else?

I need to find out my old ww books form few years ago.I got down to goal weight then. Now about a stone and a half above it.I tend to eat when im sat here at night.
I really want to exercise too.Is it best to do it in the morning or evening?

marshmellowmummy · 07/08/2006 23:00

Hi just found this web site tonight just thought i would see if you would mind if i joined in on the weight loss,my youngest is 6 mths so i can no longer use it as a excuse, lets just put it this way need to loose about 8 st.

janeite · 08/08/2006 14:17

Ooh can I join too please? Spent this morning absolutely blitzing dd's room and have just taken two huge bags to the charity shop.

Also, have just got back some holiday photos and really seen that I need to lose a stone. Have had cheese salad sarnie for lunch and am having stuffed peppers for tea. Have been out (15 mins exercise!) and bought lots of nice fruit for snacking. Feeling quite good at the moment but will need to be nagged to keep motivated!

Tyme · 09/08/2006 00:25

Lets all nag each other!
I did well today with my diet but didn't get time to do any exercise today so I will do a 1/2 hr Davina dvd slot tomorrow.
I am aiming to lose 2lbs by next Monday and have a clean house every day.
Housework burns cals too. Win-win situation.
How are we doing girls?
Would it help if we report back here on our food intake and exercise?

OP posts:
janeite · 09/08/2006 19:57

Ooh yes please, Thyme - nag me as much as you'd like!!!

Not too bad a day - I did have a small portion of chips for lunch but had a healthy tea, no snacks except an apple; have walked about 3 miles AND took another bag to the charity shop!

Am feeling almost brave enough to have a look at Fly Lady now!!

marshmellowmummy · 09/08/2006 20:01

Ok not to bad today watching the carbs, i try not to eat carbs after 3pm as i not so busy after that time so what ever energy i use after this time is being taken off my hugh store of a jelly belly hopefully. dw In bouncer,cw in pool, and mummy on exercise bike, i dony no which was more tireing the bike or watching these two i think my kneck got more exercise.

Tyme · 10/08/2006 09:13

I think I'm doing quite well at the moment.
Was very healthy yesterday and did my exercise as well as tonnes of housework.
My jeans are starting to feel ever so slightly looser but I think thats due to my stomach not being stuffed full of food!
I've got a couple of bags to take to the clothes bin.
Today, I will continue to stay under 1200 cals and take the baby for a long walk.
Janeite - sounds like you don't need nagging yet but just in case you do - are you planning on doing any exercise today? Have you got healthy meals planned for today? And have you looked at flylady yet? If not, Get off your butt and sort it out!
And the rest of you girls? Are you all winning or do you need nagging too?

mandaj · 10/08/2006 09:20

i need a good kick in the a**, i know what i need to do, and i am unhappy with my size, but i keep making new excuses.

Tyme · 10/08/2006 09:33

Hi Mandaj.
Its tough and hard work. In principle, losing weight should be the most simple of things. All it is is not eating rubbish! you don't even have to do anything, just not do something. So, why is sooooo hard?!
I do find it helps if I write down my aims for the day and plan my meals every day too and just force myself to stick to it.
Shall we have a weigh in day? You don't have to say what you weigh but just how much you have lost.

OP posts:
mandaj · 10/08/2006 09:49

it's hard because, i work shifts and i am also a full time student, with three children and a hubby who does all the cooking and only likes to eat chille, curry or pizza. tried to be independant and make my own meals but then it just easier to give in.

Tyme · 10/08/2006 10:02

Sorry Mandaj - I didn't mean why is hard for you personally, I meant why is it so hard for everyone. Its just generally difficult to lose weight. I was having a moan. ooops sorry again!
I find it hard and can't do it without support which is why I'm here. Willing to support back in return too (and nag!) so join us....

OP posts:
Tyme · 10/08/2006 10:07

Hope you didn't think I was being rude.

Come on girls!
I didn't mean to be thread killer. Honest!

Dunnyjo · 10/08/2006 16:08

ooooohhhhh! can i join please?
i have about 2-3 stone t lose and in desperate neeed in getting my butt into gear. Love the house work workout idea, been thinking about that myself as i cant afford the gym.
I have a gym ball which i used in pregnancy (13wks ago) now i need to use it instead of kick it out my way going into bed at night lol. Also have hand weights and a pram/legs to walk to beach. Been thinking about making my self walk to the beach every day or is that to much too soon?

I need to gut out my bed room but apart from that the house is too small to do loads of house work
how is everyone else doing?

Dunnyjo · 10/08/2006 16:09

oh and is everyone drinking loads of water, i found that helped me shift a good stone with my first ds. Constant drinking made me feel full and cleansed, just got to make myself drinnk it like that agin though

janeite · 10/08/2006 16:39

Looks like everybody is doing really well! Thyme - thanks for the nagging; and Dunnyjo - thanks for the reminder about drinking water - I tend to let myself get very dehydrated if I'm not careful so will imagine you shouting at me to get myself to the tap!!

I've been okay so far today; have done some walking and have shined my sinks (see - I HAVE been on flylady!!!); have also cooked up lovely healthy food for my sister and family who are visiting tomorrow - we're going to have Middle Eastern type mezze stuff with lovely fruit salad for pud. I'm trying to resist baking a cake, which is what I'd normally do if people visit.

Might go for a curry tonight but promise to only have dahl and vege - would that be okay do you think?

Keep up the good work everybody!

Dunnyjo · 10/08/2006 17:04

janeite get to the tap now! lol i think you having your curry tonight is fine as everything in moderation.
We all know what is good and bad so its satying possitive as much as possible and remembering why we are doing it.
(god i am very excited about this lol, thank god i found this thred!)

i am was thinking about cutting out bread as i find i get totally bloated anyone else get that?

mandaj · 10/08/2006 17:25

tyme you did not offend me don't worry, ihad to dissappear for a while. i have six stone to loose according to my gp, and i've decided to join the gym. if i cut out all the wrong foods and stop drinking alcohol i should be able to afford it without depriving the kids.

Tyme · 10/08/2006 19:13

Thanks Dunnyjo for the water reminder. I have just realised that I have had 3 cups of coffee today and 1 glass of water! Not good at all so I'll definitely be drinking more now.
Janeite - I went out for three curries one week (!) and stuck to the dahl and veg and I still lost 1 and 1/2 pounds that week. Just compensate by having a very low cal/point lunch for a couple of days. You should be fine.
I've cut out bread. The only bread I eat is the crusts of ds's toast and that gives my fix.
Mandaj - That sounds like an excellent idea. I think cutting out the alcohol will really help.

Are we having a weigh in day? We could do every Mon?

Dunnyjo · 13/08/2006 12:12

Hello, how is everyone getting on? I am going to weight myself to day whilst i am over my dads as i dont have any scales. Will note my weight and aim for 1Ib loss for this week.
I have written out a plan for my day tomorrow and to start with is porridge and honey (cant ever get myself to eat breakfast as it makes me heave!) then i will have a morning walk to shop and good tidy up bathrooms/bedding/hoover.
I will be getting some healthy snacks for this week too munch on when i need to eat (evening times especially)
Have my gym ball to play on (not sure what to do on it mind you )
This wkend has not been too bad. I just try not to over eat what is not so good, but i have not drank enough water

I have also got myself some herbil tes as i have a huge weakness for my coffees and teas (sugar ofcourse)
