Is anyone else doing ww no count plan? I have been a member of WW for a few years now - have re-joined about 8 times but this time it is working. Have managed to loose 2 stone in 18 weeks - can't believe it....

Yes, I am doing it at the moment. I love it because I get full on my evening meal, and it lasts all night. On points, I find that I get hungry about 9pm...

bunny3 · 21/05/2006 20:18

how does no points work? I lost 2.5 stone on slimming world but got a bit bored with it and want to loose another stone before summer hols.

Crystaltips · 21/05/2006 20:19

where do I hear about this then ???

Crystaltips · 21/05/2006 20:21

am I allowed booze ?

bunny3 · 21/05/2006 20:21

alway my first question too!!

Crystaltips · 21/05/2006 20:26
Blush

You have three meals a day from the list of No Count foods in the handbook. You eat these meals until you feel comfortable full. If you get hungry between meals, you can snack on fruit, vegetables and WW fruities. You also get 21 points a week to sopend on whatever you like. Bread is not a NC food, so you have to take that out of your 21 point allowance. Also, it is not a good plan for people who use a lot of convenience foods. HTH.

bunny3 · 21/05/2006 20:29

on SW you can have a couple of large glasses of wine a night plus one evening meal a week with as much booze as you like - I loved it.

Dior · 21/05/2006 20:29

Alcohol also has to come out of the 21 points!

Dior · 21/05/2006 20:30

Bunny - I think WW fits in with 'normal' eating better though. You can go out to a restaurant and not worry about mixing proteins with carbs.

bunny3 · 21/05/2006 20:30

Dior that sounds similar to SW - eat till you're full etc. How many points is a bottle of wine then or a bar of chocolate?

Dior · 24/05/2006 12:33

Well, wine is 2 points for a 175ml glass. Chocolate depends on the bar. For example, a Mars Bar is 5.5 points.

I weighed in this morning, and had lost 4.5lbs! So, I lost the 4 that I gained when ds was ill, and an extra 0.5lbs!

lisa34 · 29/05/2006 20:27

well done to u, I go tomorrow morning to be weighed have been very good this week, worked my butt off at the gym last week and managed to put on half a pound - i was really fed up so i've really gone for it this week so i'm keeping fingers crossed.

ooo tell me a bit more. I'm debating whether to go to a ww meeting on thurs, so i need some more details about this no count thingy. i've done sw before and much preferred that eating plan compared to points at ww but the new thing sounds good. i can't do diets that make me feel restricted. that's why i liked sw as pasta and stuff like that was 'free' but i think i could do with a new plan to get me motivated.

Twiglett · 30/05/2006 10:09

doing the points plan atm .. wondering whether I should switch to no count next week as I've been cheating this week Blush and going over allowed point-age

my problem is I eat often ... I'm a grazer .. so can't see how this will work for me

Twiglett · 30/05/2006 10:10

give me a fr' instance of what you eat during the day please (if you can be bothered)

mancmum · 30/05/2006 10:26

twigs -- no points woould work for you as long as you graze on veg fruit low fat meats etc... I am doing it... just lost 2lb... and like it as you can eat without losing points iyswim...

Moomin · 30/05/2006 10:33

wot sort of things are no points, apart from fruit and veg?
pasta? pulses? rice? quorn?
i snack on things like humous/dips and raw veg

my fave 'free' dinners on sw are things like mushroom risotto, quorn spag bol, quorn sausage and mash. can you have things like these?

Twiglett · 30/05/2006 13:14

humous is verry full of oil .. have you ever made it at home .. Sad

so you can graze on anything in the no count list? I thought it was just fruit and veg in between meals

I must say I find on the points system that their idea of a medium portion of rice (150g) is just laughable .. my 2 year old eats more rice than that .. or am I a greedy guts?

Dior · 02/06/2006 19:02

No, you can only graze on fruit/veg/WW Fruities between meals, unless you use your 21 extra points for snacks, as I do!

Today, I have had:

Breakfast: smoked salmon and two scrambled eggs
Lunch: home-made soup with large roll (3 points from extras)
Dinner: Tiger prawn curry and rice (from WW recipe book)

Extras:

Snack-a-jack minis 1.5 points
Wine gums 2 points
Roll with lunch

I usually try to stick to 3 points a day, but have been craving stuff today, so used extra. I have used 13 points so far this week, so have 8 left until Wednesday. I will also earn some this weekend hopefully.

No Count is great if you like to fill up during meals.

gigglinggoblin · 02/06/2006 19:10

is it veggie - friendly?

are the points the same as they are if you just count points as normal?

Dior · 02/06/2006 19:16

It is incredibly veggie-friendly. You just make three meals a day from the list, which includes all veg.

dewmeadow · 05/06/2006 22:06

joined WW today and am going to do NoCount - at least for first week. I like the idea of eating proper sized meals and feeling full.

Any tips?

dewmeadow · 06/06/2006 10:05

yesterday! bump

dinny · 06/06/2006 10:09

can I ask a ww question? I'm on Full Choice this week and last night had a half bottle of wine that put me over my points do I eat the equivalent less today?

Lisa - No Count is great - think I will do it next week as it's so easy.
