I thought this thread had died so I was really happy to see some new names on here. Oinker, I booked myself on a PM course, but didn't go in the end. Horse did and she wrote some interesting stuff about it earlier in the thread. I didn't go in the end because I thought the programme was working so I wouldn't bother.nNfortunately, I only got half my money back, but at least it was half. If you look back over this thread and the earlier one you will read about people who've used the system and found it worked for them. I also looked at the reviews on Amazon which were encouraging too. I started about 3 months ago now. I weighed myself after a month and found that I had lost 13 pounds. I haven't weighed myself since then because I think that puts too much pressure on me and I would be too upset if I found that I hadn't lost any more weight. But it had wrked for me: I feel better and look better, though there is some way to go. I have been a bit slack lately, but in the main I have found it to be really easy once you get into it. I was best when I listened to the CD everyday, even when it got really boring. I hope it works for you all. I think it's brilliant and will be interetsed in how you get on.

Hello Ladies
I bought the PM book and CD 4 weeks ago and although I had already made the leap to start loosing the weight - I found his system just seem to click with me and since then have lost 11lbs. There is a definate difference in my eating and exercise habits and I simply CANNOT overeat. I only listen to the CD once a week. Usually on a Sunday before I embark on another week. PM is doing a TV show on Sky 3 at the moment which is based on the book on Mondays at 8pm. Have recorded the 1st 2 the once tommorrow discusses Emotional eating I think. He pretty much recites the book - with a bit more content.

Anyway have a good week - I am off to lie down and listen to the CD before starting on preparing tommorrows pack lunches!!

Can I ask a personal question? PM cd/tape users, and ask are you still manageing to loose weight? I still want to try it but haven't managed to get to a bookshop where the cashiers don't know me!

Xavielli · 10/08/2006 20:31

How are you guys doing? I started PM last saturday and I have to say I feel much better about myself already and don't feel pressure to eat/noteat anymore, nor to accept things when I am offered.

Please come back and let us know how you are all doing. I need a little reassurance that it does actually work.

giggly · 13/08/2006 20:31

I am so relieved to know that I am not alone in buying the PM CD and letting it gather dust. I never thought I would keep the baby weight for this long,1 yr, v. depressing indeed. I have a work and baby free day tomorrow, sounds like a perfect day to begin!

paperchaser · 17/08/2006 10:54

Is anyone on here still using the PM system?

I bought the book and I'm on day 3 today

Finding it really hard to know when I'm hungry and full. I seem to be neutral all the time and then boom I'm starving.

I'm 12st3 and want to get down to 9 st ASAP. A bit gutted that I didn't start this at the beginning of the year and used the summer as motivation.

If anyone's still around can you tell me how much weight you lost doing this, or if anyone else has just started please post.

Lysander · 18/08/2006 16:35

Hi,
I use PM CD and went to a seminar a couple of years ago.
Although I haven't lost any weight, it has stabilised.
My eating habits have changed and I don't have as many hang ups about food as I used to.
I am intending on really concentrating on PM when the kids are back at school......I always get interupted if I try and listen to it in the day!!!

paperchaser · 18/08/2006 20:50

Thanks Lysander

Day 4 today and I'm sure my belly's smaller. Clothes don't feel any different though so it's probably just wishful thinking. The scales are in the loft so I'm not tempted to weigh myself.

Let me know when you start again

Xavielli · 18/08/2006 23:48

Hey PC

I started Paul McKenna 2 weeks ago... weighed after a week (naughty me!) and I had lost an amazing 7lbs! I am so impressed... havent been excercising but I only eat about 1/4 of my normal portion and I don't feel the need to snack in between.

Tonight we ordered pizza in and I though... sod it... I'm gunna have a binge! I shoveled it in as fast as I could and after 3 slices it started to hurt and I couldnt eat anymore! The man is a genius... I have only listened to the CD twice... just goes to show it is the principles that really matter!

Hope it is going really well for everyone else.

BTW I am only averaging about 4000 steps and I have 2 kids.. how on earth do you fit more in! lol

Xavielli · 18/08/2006 23:49

Oh yeah! I have also worn my size 14 jeans today without discomfort and people keep commenting that I look healthier!

Yay! It does work!

paperchaser · 19/08/2006 21:36

Oh wow!! That's the inspiration I need. Thank you

Where did you get your pedometer from? I need a cheap one.

Congratulations on the size 14 jeans. I'm still spilling over my size 16's but I'm sure that the bit under my boobs is a bit smaller. I can't bloody wait to weigh myself, but I'll be sooo gutted if I haven't lost anything.

giggly · 20/08/2006 20:16

opps meant to start last week, cant remember why I did'nt, maybe to many cakes in the house, however did start today, listened to the cd, and amazingly have not had any snacks all day, which is a miricle for me. I look forwrd to Xa success.

Lysander · 20/08/2006 23:00

Hi again, Well done to those who have lost weight. Sadly, I ate a whole box of Jaffa cakes earlier, so I don't think I will lose anything this week!!
I will try and start tomorrow! I just need to stay 'awake' and not fall into a deep sleep
I have 13 months until I'm 40 and would love to feel a little bit sexier and a little less frumpy

paperchaser · 21/08/2006 03:36

Giggly + Lysander - you have to eat cakes and biscuits before you set out to lose weight - you have to get it out of your system

Please post here and let me know how you're doing. I don't want to do it on my own.

Xavielli · 23/08/2006 00:27

Pedometer was from Argos, £3.99. It does the job!

Lost another 2lb this week and I really have been quite naughty with what I eat. I can't eat too much anymore though... It hurts! keep slipping up but the weight keeps slipping off!

paperchaser · 23/08/2006 15:15

Well done Xa

Off to Argos a bit later for my pedometer - thanks.

Still sticking to it and still wearing my size 16 jeans, but I can't believe how loose they are now. Only 1 more week until I can weigh in.

giggly · 24/08/2006 22:45

On day 5 now and going pretty well, hardly having any snacks which was my downfall when tired and as dd is usaully awake most nights, thats a lot. Stopped breastfeeding now so need to adapt my eating or I will end up as big as a house. PM voice makes me laugh its kind of freaky. Not weighed myself yet am going to wait for the 2 weeks.

paperchaser · 25/08/2006 14:50

I try really hard to not to giggle during the first few minutes of the CD. I've only listened to it twice so far - I don't think I could stand it every day.

Day 11 for me today and I'm not having a good day. I know I've lost weight cos I can see it, but I'm waiting the full 2 weeks before I weigh myself. A lot of my old everyday clothes were getting too baggy so I ordered myself some new bits in a size 14 thinking that they would fit. I wouldn't have minded if they were a bit tight but I couldn't even get the jeans over my hips. I'm worried now that this weight loss is all in my head and that I'm still the same weight as I was before. It was stupid of me to order new clothes in a smaller size - I'm really cross with myself.

Well done giggly. I didn't breast feed so I've no idea about weight gain when you stop. Fingers crossed that it won't make any difference.

Xavielli · 26/08/2006 19:47

Another 4lb this week! Thats 10lb loss over 3 weeks, I am loving this!

Lysander · 28/08/2006 00:36

Well done on the weight loss you lot.

I weighed myself the other day and 3lbs weren't there anymore!!! I don't know where they have gone!

I tried on some jeans I bought ages ago and lo and behold...they fit!! Yippeeee!!

I will listen to PM tonight and will try and be a good girl and write in my 'PM 90 Day Journal'

I have a friend who is on a wheat free diet at the moment. She has lost 7lbs in about 10days. I have decided that wheat does me no favours, so I have ditched it too! Hopefully I can stick to it!
It might make a difference, I'll let you know.

Keep up the good work and keep listening.

Earthymama · 28/08/2006 03:22

I've been following this way of eating for about 3 months now and have gone from size 18 to being able to wear a generous size 14 though most of my clothes are size 16, but are starting to be really loose. I don't weigh as I'm more concerned about my size.
The best thing is I feel really calm about it; I don't say I've been 'naughty', I really do eat what I want. I sometimes have a bar of choc for my lunch if that's what I want, though I'm drawn to more healthy choices usually!! I try to walk as much as I can and (very)occasionally exercise.
My daughter is naturally thin and she always eats this way, I'm really glad that Mr McK has laid it all out and for the CD which I can also recommend as an aid to sleep as I never get further than 'left and right' before crashing if I'm tired!!
Good luck to all of you, do give it a chance, it's not easy but it's not as hard as dieting; the focus on calories, sins and points mean you end up concentrating on nothing but food.
I'm away to Greece this week so will let you know how I do, maybe I'll take Mr McK's CD with me for added support.

giggly · 28/08/2006 19:27

opps, weighed myself today as I had a big pig out yesterday, I'm premenstral so I know it wont last(the need to pig out) anyway have lost 4 pounds in a week which I am pretty pleased with. Well done Xa,Ly and Pc, lets all keep motivated.

Lysander · 28/08/2006 21:41

Well done Giggly and WOW Earthymama, what a great result.

I listenend to the CD today and have had an OK day.

I have managed to have a wheat free day and haven't had a cup of tea. The goats milk with my rice crispies wasn't the best but the herbal teas have been fine.

I will continue to listen and I'm sure I will step up the walking when the kids are back at school.

paperchaser · 28/08/2006 22:01

Wow - fantastic weight loss for everyone then.

I've got my first weigh in tomorrow and I'm soooo excited and nervous. It's ridiculous, but I'll be so gutted ifI haven't lost more than a few pounds, or heaven forbid nothing at all.

I'm behind on the washing so squeezed myself into a size 14 skirt that fitted perfectly last year. Still I wouldn't have got it over my hips 2 weeks ago so at least it's progress.

I'll be back on this thread tomorrow hopefully with something to be smug about.

paperchaser · 29/08/2006 13:41

6lb lost. Happy but wanted it to be more really. Think I'm gonna step up on the exercise for the next 2 weeks and see if I can do better at my next weigh in.
