3lb DigWeed!!! Call it what you want but that's a fab start!

And Dawn you'll be walking that mile in no time!!!

I've just weighed and have lost 1lb. I was hoping for more (as you do!) but I used 34 of my weekly points and only had 16 activities so I guess 1lb is about right!

I'm booked on body blitz in the morning (whatever that is?!) then a swim. No major plans this weekend so hopefully I can stay on track!!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 04/01/2013 18:24

Will be fine on Monday, lead nurse on holiday, deputy of sick, senior nurse on day off and one arsing around and not sticking to my rota, which I do with care and thought.

Nothing to put with pasta, tinned toms etc?

2kidsintow · 04/01/2013 18:50

I've not started properly counting anything yet, but have stocked up on healthy options of food, decided on the ww class I want to join (there's a Fri a.m. class that I can go to on my day off each week) and have cut back on the richness of the dinners and the amount of snacks etc that we've been eating.

This morning (I weigh myself a few times a week out of habit) I was 12st 7, which is 2.5lb less than I was on 1st Jan.

Yesterday was a sensible lunch and fish in sauce with mash and peas for dinner. But then there were biscuits in the evening.

Today was a sensible lunch, then the busy last day of the hols (not counting the weekend) took over. We had lots of people to visit and ended up with starving kids, so we went to the chippy. I've had half the chips I'd normally eat though.

Tomorrow I'm going to make some of the Hairy Dieters' golden vegetable soup. Normally I just bung stuff in a pan, boil it and eat whatever the result is, but I like the look of this so will follow the recipe. Or I might make it on Sun and then take it to work for lunches.

Cutting out snacks is what I need to do most of all. I find it hard to do that on holiday days, but come Monday it's back to school/work and there aren't snacks in the staffroom. And it will only be evening snacking I need to tackle.

Oh, and QVC had a good price on a set of 3 Zumba DVDs last night, complete with toning sticks, so I've bought those.

I have an exercise bike as well as those and on an evening, when the kids are in bed and the OH is in the garage tinkering, that's what I shall be doing. And I go to a Zumba class on a Wed too.

TerraNotSoFirma · 04/01/2013 19:25

I've got a stinking cold also, so I haven't eaten through the day, just had dinner.
One salmon fillet, peppers and onions with two boiled new potatoes.
I put it on a side plate to fool me into thinking I had a plate full of food, and I'm FULL Shock I would normally have had double the amount that I had tonight.

Still no bathroom scales as I can't afford them until DH gets paid on 16th.

CJMommy · 04/01/2013 20:35

Mixed day here.
Missed lunch as meeting ran over until 3pm....... Then ate an apple, banana and Christmas cake Blush Also had two biscuits in the meetingBlush.

However, I've tracked everything and only 88cals over my allowance so quite please as have been slightly under the last few days.

On new years day I was 11st 1lb and today I was 10st 11lbs Grin . I know it won't carry on like this but it has given me a reason not to pig out over the weekend as I normally would!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 04/01/2013 20:52

Well done CJ.

food wise was a bit hit and miss.

After I left work I had a skinny hot chocolate and toast at Costa.

Slept and had two more pieces of toast, and have just had pork chops and culiflower cheese, no potatoes and cut off all the fat from the pork chop. No wine.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 04/01/2013 20:53

Have realised I have namechanged, was DorsetKnob.

Vicky08 · 04/01/2013 22:10

Hi all, everyone's doing so well. I was doing good today until i went to PIL for dinner, FIL is a fantastic cook and I ended up stuffing my face eating a bit too much. Tomorrow I'll have to be extra good which may be a problem because we're going to a dinner party with some friends but I'm determined to be good, I have to get this weight off, I look and feel disgusting.
Will have a glass of water and then go to bed.

2kidsintow · 04/01/2013 23:54

The dress I've bought for a formal dinner dance at the middle/end of Feb (size 14) has arrived and I tried it on.

I can do it up level to where my bra strap is, then it's an inch or so away from doing up. I'm hoping that is do-able in 6-8 weeks depending on when the dinner actually is.

(I have a backup dress that I know will fit just in case that I have worn a different year, but I have sworn not to be 12st anything next time the dance is on as I hated the photos from last year. )

cafecito · 05/01/2013 00:57

DisAstrophe (great name!) yes I more than doubled my weight in a year Shock and I just keeeep gaining.... I should probably double check my thyroid function as I'm pretty active, I was eating the wrong things at the wrong times recently but should have levelled off a long time ago. . I was 'about right' back in March last year, and have gained ever since! If I lost 2 stone I'd be ok, which doesn't sound like a lot but it is as I have not lost anything so far. Today was good, but didn't do any exercise [bad] but did eat healthily (miso soup and a butternut squash salad) - think I need to cut back on my latte habit though, a little bit, I must drink my daily calories in those (we're talking maybe 6 a day) [oink]

cafecito · 05/01/2013 00:59

Do you know where I can do the body fat composition thingy on scales without buying my own? I don't really want to own scales - there's some at the gym but they are not digital and seem to swing about wildly- or should I just buy some scales?

EverythingsNotRosie · 05/01/2013 07:15

I've just weighed in at 16.11 and was 17.1 on new year's day so I am pleased. Pigged out a bit yesterday though- ham, egg and chips and half a bottle of wine when out in the evening after eating toddler leftovers at 5. I find it really hard not to nibble when toddler is. Need to be extra good this weekend to keep weekly calories right. cafecito maybe the scales in boots? I know it gives you quite a long print out!

travellingwilbury · 05/01/2013 07:46

Morning all , I have weighed this morning and since wed I have lost two pounds which I am pleased with .
I am going to weigh on a Sat and a wed and hope that keeps me on track .

I am working today so need to watch my snacking , good luck to everyone , the weekends are tricky .

FiveGoMadInDorset · 05/01/2013 08:37

Morning all, weight is fluctuating, yesterday I had put on 1.5 and today I have taken off 2 Hmm

FiveGoMadInDorset · 05/01/2013 08:44

I agree with weekends, I am off out all day today in the countryside, doing some walking but getting a good lunch and then off out to lunch tomorrow.

NoillyPrat · 05/01/2013 11:19

Morning all, well done on the weight losses.

I did what I predicted yesterday and went off track in the afternoon Hmm Not massively, at least. I've decided to eat all the healthy meals I've planned over the weekend but finish off the Christmas chocolates (luckily there's not many left!) ready to be 100% on plan from Monday.

I had to have some wine last night as we had a bit of stressful news but the bottle will be finished tonight, then I won't buy anymore for a while.

Looking forward to carrying on with the early morning walks on weekdays. Hopefully I'll see at least a small loss on the scales on Friday.

Have a great weekend all :)

CJMommy · 05/01/2013 11:29

Missed breakfast again this morning so had an apple and a few Pringles mid morning. I have put them on MFP so can see straight away what I have left. I think this is going to be key to success for me, otherwise I will 'forget' the chocs and biscuits I've eaten them wonder why I haven't lost Blush. That and keeping on this thread! I've never managed more than a few posts before so trying to turn posting on here into a 'good' habit Grin

No alcohol since new years eve, which is always my biggest downfall. Still intent on having a dry month, except for next Saturday night when I'm out with friends I haven't seen in months-can't totally deprived myself can I?!

Well done on your ongoing willpower ladies!

OneSliceOfSwissCheese · 05/01/2013 12:54

CJ I'm finding keeping MFP updated really helpful. Especially in adjusting my portion sizes for dinner. My DH does the cooking, which is great, but he usually tries to give me massive servings. He's a foot taller than me and has always been slim so I definately don't need to eat the same amount as him!

CJMommy · 05/01/2013 14:08

Have just worked out my dinner tonight . The pork roast portion works out the same as a piece of apple pie with a bit of custard-I know what I'd rather have Wink I will be quite happy with my veggies, roasts and gravy with a luvverly (!) pud!! X

NoillyPrat · 05/01/2013 15:39

I don't blame you CJMommy! I know what I'd rather have too :)

We got up late today so had brunch/lunch at 12 of a wrap filled with scrambled egg, beans, quartered cherry tomatoes, a bit of grated cheese and a little ketchup. Was lovely and I'm still fullish! forgetting about the few chocolates I've had!

Will be making a cottage pie for dinner packed with veg and a potato and swede topping.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 05/01/2013 19:48

I had a lovely day in the country, nice lunch but not huge, now drinking and will probably have boiled eggs for tea.

I have made pavlova for lunch tomorrow but I don't eat it, which will save me something.

cafecito · 06/01/2013 01:27

ok I will head to a boots and look for scales- I'm free tomorrow. Today was a disaster though (maybe should not weigh self tomorrow!) I was working allll day and then started snacking on random things at work by about 5pm (little packs of nuts and fruit and things) then went out for a compulsory drinks thing, but ate so much food - had 3 cranberry juices, then practically a whole bottle of prosecco, then houmous, 3 lots of nachos (yes, really, 3 plates), some deep fried tempura things, and olives... I didn't do the ordering. I passed on dessert though, I am now so full of nacho cheese I feel pretty dreadful. So, back on the wagon tomorrow! (or maybe monday) I'm going to start shredding daily too, but won't start that til monday either

Shybairns · 06/01/2013 15:51

Am getting used to the feeling of hunger. It makes me feel powerful to know I can function whilst hungry.

Don't think I was ever really hungry all of last year.

Made some popcorn for snack. Lightly salted it. Thoroughly satisfying and far less fat than crisps. 15g of unpopped corn = 41cals.

TaggieCampbellBlack · 06/01/2013 16:22

Hello all 13ers.

I'm on day 5 of no wine, cheese, bread etc. Home from work and hungry. Need to plan my evening meal or I will slip and pick on junk.
