I want to get slim for the next one! Odd I know.

I am going to walk at least 30 mins a day, and for me it's the carbs. I have to cut down my carbs and eat more fruit and veg.

I managed to lose 1.5stone before I got pregnant, just need to find my motivation again.

CandyPop · 30/12/2012 21:58

I did a 45 mins walk today with the pram . It's pretty hilly where I live.... Nearly killed me! Can't believe how unfit I've become! Felt good tho!!

GTbaby · 30/12/2012 22:25

Omg. My party. Or rather my sons party in 45 days. For which I am loosing weight for is actually in 2 weeks. Feck me. For some reason I thought it was feb 13. Not jan 13! Oh shit oh shit oh shit

Passmethecrisps · 30/12/2012 22:31

We walked in to town yesterday via the pub and it felt great to give my legs a proper stretch. It's only a half hour each way but it felt good. Not much opportunity today but small steps!

Hi-5 weight loss thread buddy candy!

I swear by home made soup. A lovely roasted red onion and tomato soup or curried parsnip is practically fat free and really filling. When I was still working I had soup and fruit for lunch every day. I think this was the main reason I kept the vast majority of my previous weight off. I also like veg curries.

Other things I have used are making up little pots of sugar free jelly for a sweet treat and stewed rhubharb with a squeeze of orange and sweetener.

I always eat all my veg or salad first during a meal as it fills me up a bit first.

I've got a September baby & a wobbly tum, can I join? No idea how much I want to lose but am going to give the 5:2 diet a go.

kirrinIsland · 31/12/2012 05:43

Welcome mrsjingle :) I've been lurking on the 5:2 threads and it looks interesting - not sure if I should be doing that whilst breastfeeding though? I will do it at some point though, it seems like an effective method and is a lifestyle change that I feel I could actually stick to.

Well done candy and pass - a good walk sounds like a good place to start.

I have done exactly nothing towards this goal - still eating Christmas crap and still doing no exercise. I am still away from home though excuses excuses so I'm going to start on Thursday when i get home.

WaitingForMe · 31/12/2012 06:24

I just weighed myself: 12st 3lb but I was 11st 11lb a couple of days ago so think I'll have a big loss in my first week (fingers crossed).

DSs naming ceremony is on 3rd March and I'd like to be 11st for that. I then want to get under 10st for my brother's wedding in August.

ValiumQueen · 31/12/2012 07:39

Hmm. Not sure I want to do this! Just as well I have lots of motivators. Just feeding my boy, then will weigh myself and report back.

Right... Vital stats:
Current weight: 12lb 5oz
Target weight: 10lb 7oz
Waist measurement: 35 1/2 in (no idea what that should be)

Lost 2lbs over the weekend! You are already an inspiration.

ValiumQueen · 31/12/2012 08:18

Well done goat

ValiumQueen current weight 17st. Goal 12st. I am 5ft 8, and size 20.

OP posts:
NanoNinja · 31/12/2012 09:09

Okay, just weighed in at
58.5 kg (= 129 lb)
Target is 54 kg (119 lb)
So looking at 10lb to lose. Am targeting end of April when I go back to work. Seems like a long way off, but I've lost 1 lb since end October!

Was post feeding - I find that factors such as feeding, whether I have eaten breakfast and been to te loo make a huge difference (up to 2 kg or 4 lb). But

Catbag · 31/12/2012 09:54

Well done Valium :)

StuntNun · 31/12/2012 10:07

Okay so it's not as bad as I thought although my BMI has slipped out of the normal range from 24.8 to 26.5 so I am currently officially overweight. I have gained three inches on my bust which is probably largely due to bfing. Under the bust hasn't changed at 34" and my thighs are the same size (23") so, apart from the boobs, all the weight has gone on my waist (up two inches to 36") and hips (up one inch to 41").

My immediate goal is to get back to my pre-pregnancy size 14 so my starting weight is 11st 5lb and I'm going to lose 10lb to reach 10st 9lb by reducing the junk food and walking the kids to and from school initially. My eventual goal is to get back to a size 12.

ValiumQueen · 31/12/2012 10:12

I have put on 7lb since having DS 9weeks ago. Oops!

Hello all

Great thread. I wasn't too fussed about my weight until the third person asked me when the baby was due 10 weeks after having her. Harrumph.

Only about a stone to lose (ok, 2 stone), but will need much effort to make my sack like stomach acceptable again. Ate sit-ups the only way? Sigh.

Also worried by breast weight loss first rather than tummy bum and thigh weight. Why? Why?

Good luck all.

INeedThatForkOff · 31/12/2012 10:17

I've weighed in at 12st 8lb. I've gained a pound and a half over Christmas, which I'm fine with as I usually gain half a stone Xmas Blush

I'm not planning to start until Weds. We're having a party tea tonight and a roast dinner tomorrow. However I have the WW mag and will read it for a bit of motivation (small steps!) and will use the shopping guide to make a list of easy healthy meals and snacks.

applecrumple · 31/12/2012 10:18

So start of a new me. Have no scales so don't know my weight- ill post hip & waist measurements later

INeedThatForkOff · 31/12/2012 10:22

Sorry, target weight is 9st (I'm 5'4"), so 50lbs sounds a lot!

catwoman101 · 31/12/2012 10:23

Should have added, not starting til jan 7th when will have eaten all Xmas goodies. Then target weight loss may need to be revised up?

Also, am worried about my capacity for exercise unless the constant rain stops. Anyone doing fitness dvd's?

catwoman101 · 31/12/2012 10:25

Stats:

Height 5' 8'

Weight 12st 2

Target wt loss 2 stone 2

INeedThatForkOff · 31/12/2012 10:28

Yes catwoman. I did the new Davina one yesterday and I'm feeling it today Grin

Elizadoesdolittle · 31/12/2012 10:42

My scales are either broken or out if batteries (digital ones). They probably broke due to the large amount of dust gathered on them. I will get to some scales at some point to do the stats but I probably won't join in the weekly weigh ins if that's ok. I'm not really worried too much about weight it's more shape and dress size for me. I know the 2 go hand in hand so if my clothes look and fit better ill know I'm losing weight iyswim.
Before DD1 I was a size 10, probably nearer a 12 by the time I got pregnant. After she was born I went up to a 14, in some shops I was a 16 on top half. Went back to a comfortable 14/12 just through running around after her, she's a very energetic toddler! Now after DD2 who is 7 weeks I am back in my size 14 jeans. I am realistically never going to be a size 10 again so goal is size 12.
I've found a gym buddy so will join once I've got the all clear from my 6 wk check. I'm not a gym lover but do quite like some of the classes. I'm sure the leisure centre has one of those fancy weight machines so will do my weigh in there. Means I actually have to go there!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 31/12/2012 10:46

Have to go get scales and a measuring tape today. Was waiting on the HV but shes just phoned to cancel!

Argos has scales. Where do I buy a measuring tape?

wannabedomesticgoddess · 31/12/2012 10:46

Oh and VQ, well done. :)
