All new mummies welcome. Any exercise and/or weight loss programme acceptable, so long as it is healthy.

I'll join you.

Not exactly a new mummy, DC5 is 5mo. However I had DC4 & 5 within 11 months so I'm sure I have a 'mum tum' to rival the best of them Blush

I've been on Slimming World since mid September and have lost 35lbs so far. I'm now 11st 10 (5ft 9) and ideally would like to finish up just under 10st. Food wise I believe I'm ok, trying to think of it as healthy eating rather than some fad diet. Exercise is another matter!

I'd love to be able to go to the gym/classes as I used to but 5DC doesn't leave me with lots of free time. So I'm thinking exercise DVDs. Any thoughts??

Hi girls

My idea is to introduce one healthy element into my lifestyle a week so's not to shock my blubber things like swimming once a week, eating off a smaller plate, eating at least one piece of fruit a day and gradually upping it, no more takeaways etc....

What's everyone else hoping to change in their diet??

pass I almost have identical goals to you! I am also a crispaholic although during my pregnancy and these few weeks of post natal, I have developed a taste for chocolate, cakes and biscuits too. Thank god there is none left at home!

I'm 5ft 2, my ideal weight is 8st 7, just before getting pregnant I was 8st 11, think I'm around 9st now but will weigh properly in Monday ... So have 1/2 stone to go. Main thing for me is just to eat more healthily and get fitter whilst toning my wobbly belly!! Being only 5ft2 . Baby stretched me loads and came out at 8lbs 8!!!

Tried to be good for dinner today and made soup. LO is keeping me awake at the mo .... But now I'm hungry .... Hmm

Glenda, I intend to up my water drinking and cut out all other fluids except for the occasional glass of wine maybe. I am a bit addicted to fizzy juice. When I was pregnant I only drank water and felt all the better for it.

Also cutting out snacks at night and sugary foods.

Bought a slow cooker the other day so intend to eat a lot more soups and casseroles with veg in.

I cut the takeaways without trying in pg - because we couldn't afford them! I haven't yet picked up the habit despite dp trying again so I am hoping that will help things a lot. We still can't afford them, not without going without, I dunno, electric...!

My down falls are: cheese - nothing fancy, just regular cheddar/mozzarella, we have these a lot on meals. Carbs - I definitely have too many carbs. Bread/pasta/potatoes. I'm generally a savoury bird, but since having the baby, I suddenly want chocolate, and lots of it. I went right off it in pregnancy. Damn you body!

My other down fall is cream, or cream filled cakes Blush such as profiteroles, and chocolate eclairs (although I always remove the choc off them..!!). I luuuuuuuuuuuurve cream!

My absolute worst habit, and one I've kicked many times, again due to cost: Coca Cola! (Again, went off it in pregnancy but now right back on it!) Me and DP can easily drink 3L a day of it. There is 800 calories in one bottle, so in 1.5 bottles, that is 600 calories each a day. Not to mention the damage it does to teeth. Blush

I might try SW or WW, when I get a minute to have a look and see which would suit us better - DP would do it with me no problem. He put 5 stone on in 6 months 2 years ago. He was skin and bones before that though. He needs to lose about 2 stone, the same as me. Although he isn't in the obese category bastard!.

I need to make small changes to the above to start. Or I won't keep to it. I lose weight best by gradually reducing my appetite, and then allowing myself to still eat the things I like, but in moderation. I do need to kick the coke habit though! I'm not good at moderating that!

I will never be strong enough to resist the good stuff in life, so I have to accept that is why I can't sustain anything below 11st without being miserable. I've decided on a happy medium, unless I can see my health is being affected. I'm actually reasonably fit, despite being fat and an exercise dodger Grin.

I'm not sure how exercise will go down here, other than walking and swimming, I can't think of anything I'd be happy doing once the soreness stops! I fecking hate it Blush.

GTBaby - current 15 stone 7lb - goal 2 stone
Barmee - 15 stone - goal 5 stone
Raverlsarethe best -14 stone 8lb - goal 4 stone
MissMummy1 - 12 stone - 2 stone

INeedThatForkOff 12 stone 8lb - goal 3 stone 8 lb off
YellowWellies 12 stone 3lb - goal 2 stone 4lb off
Pikz 11 stone 9lbs- goal 2 stone off
Blondie - 2 stone 6lbs to lose
TheDetective 14 stone, 2.5 stone to lose.

Stone is a weird word. Seeing it over and over. Makes me giggle! Strange Detective!

Seems most of you want to get around 9-10 stone. Feel like a fat pudding now!!

Detective I am aiming for 10 stone 11 as a happy medium weight. I am only 5 foot 5 ans my ideal weight ought to be 9.5 stone but when I once got to 9 stone 12 DH said I looked drawn and though I was still a perfectly healthy size 12 I had to eat almost nothing (think 17 old style weightwatchers points per day for those who have done ww) to stay that weight. So I am going for a realistic goal for me, and when I get there will decide if I can lose more without it becoming obstructive to normal life!

Coca cola is my downfall too detective I am going to switch to coke zero, even though it's not as nice, but I need to give it up altogether really - there's nothing good about it.
So cut down on sugar and carbs and walk as much as possible are my aims. I will also do the 30 day shred but not just yet - I'm starting from zero fitness so I need to build up to it, plus baby is a limpet so I can't imagine I'll be able to put her down for long enough to di it just yet.

Yum carbs. I love all things carbs! Especially potato in all its different forms... Mashed, baked, fried, crisps ..... Blush

I too want to try the 30 day shred but will also build up stamina and fitness first . GT have u started it ? Be interesting to hear from someone who has. Maybe those who want to do it we can so it together?! Although I probably need 30 days to build up fitness first !!

I have to eat all the biscuits in the house before Monday right? Right?

Hmm, will weigh In tomorrow so I can have one more day of stuffing my face. I did 30ds a year or so ago - def felt better for it, but didn't really change diet so no real weight loss. My obstetrician told me not to do any abdominal exercise for six months! Maybe over the top, but I guess it would rule out the shred. V

stunt well I have been on a binge the last couple of days to get rid of crap in the house in preparation for 2mo Grin maybe it's not the smartest thing to do ... But as I'm ebf apparently I've been told it's equivalent to a 5 mile run a day... Lol

nano why 6 months?! Is there a special reason why that long? I had a c section but was hoping to get back into it full on in a months time but starting to build up exercise from 2mo after my post natal appointment

Hi, can I join?

DS is 10 weeks old, I gained 2.5 stone in pregnancy. I lost 1.5 stone initially in baby and fluid, started dieting at 4 weeks and lost 6 pounds. So I've got 8 pounds to lose to make pre-pregnancy weight. But I would like to be half a stone lighter than that, so want to lose a stone really

I'm 10 stone and want to get to 9 stone 6 initially. I'm re-starting the diet on 2nd Jan. I will be using My Fitness Pal, sticking to 1200 calories a day and walking at least 2 miles a day. Think I will start a spinning class too.

I've got a wedding to attend in March, I need to look nice by then!

TheTiger · 30/12/2012 09:34

Oh, and I've started to 30 day shred in the past... I did the first 2 days and couldn't walk afterwards so gave it up! Blush

Hello, my name is evil.
I love food. I eat food in large portions and I love to cook. I love carbs, sweet stuff and meat and fish, Hm..... Crab too. Well pretty much everything.

I used to be just under 9 stone before DS1. I'm now 11,1. I'd love to get back to that weight. Everything as gotten bigger Sad and it really doesn't help that I can eat half a family sized cake to my self! Grin

I'm hoping that walking (when it stops raining!) , swimming and DP exercise machine will help in getting back to shape. I also need a lot of work on portion control.

For those with a coke problem, I stopped drinking it after loads of people here used it as a toilet cleaner! It works a treat too! If it can clean a loo imagine what it's doing to your insides!

pass and decteive you are so funny. Also waves to all the other nov ladies.
GTbaby porridge is a very healthy. You can have fruit with it. Tastes great, is very cheap and very easy to make. I put a little fruit special K on top.

I'm trying to find a moment to try the Davina Intense DVD today (i'll be doing the lower impact version if there is one!) My boobs are like leaky melons though, and DS doesn't have much of an appetite this morning. This could hurt!
