All new mummies welcome. Any exercise and/or weight loss programme acceptable, so long as it is healthy.

Just to add, my local surestart does groups for walking with prams, am going to join in new year! Might be something to look in to!

I've never voluntarily exercised, and I hate it... Gotta start easily!

ValiumQueen · 29/12/2012 19:45

I used to be so into fitness that I exercised at least once a day. When I worked nights I would exercise in my break, and also get up at lunchtime to go to the work gym. Yes, I was exercising to extreme. My nick name was GI Jane. I had a no.2 all over at the time and my arse was like a peach.

I'm in I'm a nov 12 mummy. I have 1 1/2 stone to lose. I hate the fact I look 3 months pregnant. It's horrid.
I'm going to be sensible eating and once I've bought some trainers I will be doing couch to 5k.
valium you're 17:08 post rings true with me. I must try to do better for myself.
I find it so hard to eat properly, especially when the toddlers want to share my food and the sugar lows makes me grab toast and biscuits.
Thanks for this thread vq

Prolific you mention toddlers - do you have more than one of these magical creatures?

Like some others on this thread I have not always had a great relationship with food (not an eating disorder but kept myself fairly seriously underweight for ages) so am looking to be a bit healthier in my choices - I seem to go from one extreme to the other. Also as I was one of the lucky ones whose HELLP syndrome didn't go with birth (it spiked five days later, cue much panic from hospital staff, but fortunately it did get managed ok) I could certainly do with making my diet much more BP and liver friendly! I need nagging to eat lots more fruit and veg.
Hi to the familiar faces here (waves to lrm stunt and funch ).
Indeed thanks for the thread vq !

DyeInTheEar · 29/12/2012 21:09

Thank you for starting this thread - this is exactly where I need to be! I had my DS (DC3) 2 weeks ago and haven't bothered weighing myself yet because just can't face it but expect will probably have around 3 stone to lose. I'll weigh myself at 6 weeks and report back! I've eaten badly over the last couple of weeks too as loads of Christmas treats in the house tempting me as well as being sleep deprived so getting energy from sugar instead.... dreading the weigh in but really looking forward to feeling like "me" again after long, uncomfortable pregnancy.

INeedThatForkOff · 29/12/2012 21:10

Which postnatal thread VQ? I never bothered, partly because my edd was 31st Oct and I was always going to be way behind everyone else.

GTbaby · 29/12/2012 21:10

Just finished the last of the Xmas treat cheese! Yummy.

Those of u who have sky channel 282 is some kind of fitness channel. Saves buying DVDs. My mum just showed me. Mr motivator has a show on it as well!

ValiumQueen · 29/12/2012 21:18

forkoff perhaps someone could do a link? It is november mummies sleepless nights a plenty. We talk a lot, and it is a very supportive thread. There is usually someone awake at night, someone with a similar issue etc. We have babies ranging from 13 weeks to 3 weeks. We would love to see you there.

I do vq 2 of the tantrum prone magical creatures!
I was thinking pushing the 2 toddlers in the buggy and carrying the baby in the sling for 30 minute fast walk try and build up to everyday? That might help?
I will head over to the post natal thread, thank you :)

Passmethecrisps · 29/12/2012 21:22

Hello!

My name is passmethecrisps and I am a crispoholic.

My lovely wee girl was born almost 7 weeks ago and I have barely walked the length of myself since.

Pre-preg weight was 8st 7Ib, I weighed 10st 8Ib at the very end of my pregnancy and I am now 9st 6Ib. I am 5ft 2

I have been a successful dieter in the past going from 11st to 7st 7ib. However, my world is different as is my attitude. I have no interest in being so tiny again but I would like my bottom to fit in my jeans.

I have also been a keen runner. However I damaged both Achilles' tendons training and, to be frank, this put me right off.

Waist measurement is a great idea. I would like to be back to pre-preg weight.

Prolificmincepiebreeder · 29/12/2012 21:22

Excellent, thanks for the tip GT baby!

ValiumQueen · 29/12/2012 21:29

'Length of myself' you are so funny pass you have a real gift with words.

prolific I have a 6 yo and a 2 yo so I take my hat off to you with two toddlers. You should be skinny in no time running after them. Sometimes though I do wonder if the 6 yo is more trouble. Come to think of it, I wonder if DH is sometimes.

Xmas Blush Why, thank you VQ!

TheDetective · 29/12/2012 21:57

I have measured myself! Here are my very strange measurements (and they are somehow the same as they were before, despite the lump of lard I tuck in to my knickers daily...)

Bust 35 inches
Waist 37 inches
Hips 47 fucking inches.

Yes I carry my fat around my fucking ankles practically. Hmm

What a lovely shape I make! Grin

TheDetective · 29/12/2012 21:59

Oh, I should add. I used the regular fucking freezing metal tape measure, as I couldn't find the fabric one! So they may be a little out! But not by much!!

DyeInTheEar · 29/12/2012 22:19

VM 2 weeks old eh? Do take a bit longer to recover, but we will be here when you are ready.

Absolutely - am still bit "grazed" and happy on the sofa lurking eating curryfor now....see you in a month or so...

DyeInTheEar · 29/12/2012 22:20

VM? I meant VQ!

failed on the strike through too - bloody one handed typing while I BF.

I need to fit into a wedding dress in July.

Do not let me fall off this thread!

Im drinking Wine and trying to locate a tape measure. Not having much luck.

TheDetective · 29/12/2012 22:42

I don't own trainers. Blush

I do have some pink sparkly converse though.... Grin.

Prolificmincepiebreeder · 29/12/2012 22:44

They are quite a handful but I would tend to agree that DH is slightly harder. DS2 is at that very destructive stage!
DS3- the baby thankfully seems rather chilled out at the moment.

ValiumQueen · 29/12/2012 22:49

I have watched the 30 day shred DVD and was sweating just sitting on the sofa!
