All new mummies welcome. Any exercise and/or weight loss programme acceptable, so long as it is healthy.

Gosh, some of you are doing well. I will weigh in hotly. Not promising though after y chocolate brownie on Sat and the crime brûlée yest. As soon as I had ad I realised I ddn't need it Sad

Back on it today.

Iheartpasties · 14/01/2013 07:06

Sorry to hear of your hard week Candy. It can certainly be hard work with a new born/LO.

tearoomtrash · 14/01/2013 08:35

Bit disappointed this morning.

Have been faultless in sticking to my healthy eating this week. Only drank water (8 glasses a day without fail), no refined sugar, only whole meal carbs, hairy biker diet meals, small portions and nothing processed. Did a 4 mile cross country walk (mainly uphill) which nearly killed me...

...but I have GAINED a pound!!!! How can this be???

Sticking with it as, if nothing else, at least I am doing my health some good. Still feeling a bit miffed though. Angry

tearoomtrash · 14/01/2013 09:02

Ooo! Just read online that eating foods with a high salt content can make you retain water. I had the hairy dieter's gammon with parsley sauce last night - could that be the culprit...?

Clutching at straws, I know... Blush

projectbabyweight · 14/01/2013 09:37

tearoomtrash - maybe you lost fat and gained some muscle? In any case you should be really proud of yourself for a great week. Wish I had your discipline!

Iheartpasties · 14/01/2013 09:46

yes - anything salty might affect you. just think next week you might do doubly well.

pikz · 14/01/2013 09:53

I lost 3 but think its due to stinking cold more than anything.

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/01/2013 10:04

Another 5lbs off this week! Woop! :)

Although this diet is proving expensive, where DP and I snack on alone light bars, fruit and miller lights we have to buy soooo many!
Oh well it's got to be worth it to get back to a healthy weight. Smile

Sophiathesnowfairy · 14/01/2013 10:28

What exactly are you acting tits ? That is amazing well done.

I am still 12st 4lbs same as Fri. No ill effects fom the brownie then. Phew.

As anyone done the hairy dieters chicken and ham tangle pie? What kind of ham did you use?

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/01/2013 10:42

I'm doing Slimming world. Smile Not at groups yet but I did so it for years so still have all the books and stuff. To be honest before I did it this time I was living off of fast food and chocolate/ sweets so now I'm not having any of that stuff.

Lane stats thread is here

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/1653593-New-Mummies-with-wibbly-tummies-STATS-THREAD

Prob easiest if we all update our own- just copy and paste the one above and change your own details.

Bit of a rubbish day today- found myself picking at biscuits at work as I was bored. On the upside I did walk to work and back (and given that it was quicker than waiting for a cab and then going in the cab to work I feel v embarrassed that I haven't done it before). Still off the booze but have broken the "water and herbal teas only" rule with a nice cup of builders' when I got home. Got to do a conference call and then it's cottage pie (toddler portion- made a load for DS but he doesnt like them, the deluded fool) and broccoli for me, then bed. DD up 4 times last night and I need sleeeeeeep.

VisualiseAHorse · 14/01/2013 11:24

Remember ladies, muscle weighs more than fat! So it's not all bad if you gain a pound, as long as you're still in the same (or smaller) clothes!

Just been for a walk with the buggy in the snow....must burn more calories than normal, it's hard pushing a 22lb baby through the 3 inches of snow here!!

About to do the next level of the Shred, once LO is down for his lunchtime nap :)

WaitingForMe · 14/01/2013 12:07

I lost 1lb this week. I was down more but then ate loads at the weekend. I've not posted all week but having a weigh in where I document change is helping.

VisualiseAHorse · 14/01/2013 16:17

Oh Lordy, Level 2 of the Shred is very very very hard. Didn't even make it to the end. Just lay on the floor while they did the ab exercises.

oh dear am on holiday atm and not doing well. not getting much sleep and am in a country with lots of excellent chocolate and cheese...death to healthy eating. dreading weigh-in next week - don't have scales here to weigh this week. gah must be strong...

INeedThatForkOff · 14/01/2013 19:11

Well done on all these excellent losses!

I start a marking contract on Wednesday, which while challenging with an 11 week old, will be easier than going back to work earlier than I want to. I'm going to cut myself some slack and probably won't be exercising for the next three or four weeks. That way the DCs don't lose out any more than necessary. I'll be doing as much walking as possible though, and I will be sticking to WW. This is where I'm going to need to be careful - the work is repetitive and tiring; it will be all too easy to keep taking biscuit breaks. Glad I've got the app to keep me on track.

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 15/01/2013 01:14

INeed- that's the worst combo isn't it? Busy, but doing stuff that's a bit boring. That's where I came unstuck yesterday- decided to bite the bullet and sort out my contacts database- it needed doing, but it needed to be powered by biscuits Grin

Think today's going to be another challenging one. Been up since 3am. Decided last night to try to night wean DD, or at least get her to do a longer block of sleep. Fed her at 10pm, then when she woke at 12.30am I gave her some water and her dummy and she went back to sleep. Went back to bed all smug. Well, that bit me on the arse when she woke up at 3am, not crying, not hungry, just awake. What can you do? Eventually she did get hungry, so I fed her at 4.30. She slept for an hour, then woke up and woke DS up as well, so I had both of them on the bed by 5.30. Gah. Need coffee.

utopian99 · 15/01/2013 03:11

Have to alter stats as weighed myself previously with clothes on, but have lost half a lb. Not buckets, but am not exercising at the moment except for brisk walks - waiting to be 4 weeks... (that's the excuse!)

TheTiger · 15/01/2013 08:47

2 pounds off this week, so now 9 stone 11 and 5 pounds to go.

Well Done everybody who has checked in with a weight loss so far...we are all doing well!

NanoNinja · 15/01/2013 13:31

Hi everyone. Have not been posting this past week due to general crapness. But weighed

NanoNinja · 15/01/2013 13:40

Hi everyone. Have not been posting this past week due to general crapness. But weighed in yesterday at 57.8 kg down from 59 kg the previous week. However, am setting no store by individual weeks due to water / breastfeeding / other fluctuations. Would not be surprised to we 59 kg next week!

Am trying to walk for an hour most days, but snow has arrived here, so not sure how long that will last for.

Am really a bit lost with diet. Have been using Mfp to try and eat maintain calories each day while cutting out refined sugar, but not sure whether that's really enough (although probably is all I can manage at the moment what with breast feeding).
