I've missed something. What is mfp?

VisualiseAHorse · 09/01/2013 07:39

My Fitness Pal = MFP

Sorry no updates for a couple of days. LO has turned into Velcro baby, and OH is ill! But anyway, I feel I've been doing great. A whole week of no booze :) Finally finished that last Mars Bar ice cream that was tempting me from the freezer, so now there truly is no chocolate/ice cream left in the house for me!

Still doing the Shred over here, and two walks a day - one with the buggy, one with baby in the sling instead.

I have measured myself, but don't see any differences :(

I'm finding Graze boxes really great. Just when it gets to that part of the afternoon, where I normally sit down with a cuppa and a biscuit/chocolate/scone/cake, I'm now sitting down with some fruit juice and a Graze box :)

Catbag · 09/01/2013 08:58

Ah. Thank you!

Iheartpasties · 09/01/2013 09:03

I think I had an ok day, no naughty snacks, just healthy ones. no treats. some mild exercise.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 09/01/2013 09:54

How many graze boxes do you get delivered a week visualise ? Does t work out quite expense or ok?

Iheartpasties · 09/01/2013 10:15

With the chicken in the slow cooker, do you put it in the normal way around or breast side down, and do you put it on anything? I've read about balled up tin foil? Thanks guys. Loving the slow cooker.

StuntNun · 09/01/2013 10:40

Do you brown the shoulder before it goes in to the slow cooker Tits? My slow cooker is good but not really big enough. It has two settings so if you're going to be a long time you can switch it to low and leave it another couple of hours.

YellowWellies · 09/01/2013 10:41

My slow cooker was a tenner from Tesco - I love it

NappyHappy · 09/01/2013 11:08

Normal side down with nothing else in there. It falls to buts when you get it out so you'll be best sticking something in the cavity to take it out.

Mines a Morphy Richards one, didn't cost that much, under £20 I think.

Titsalinabumsquash · 09/01/2013 11:59

I don't brown anything for the slowcooker (far too lazy!) Grin

ValiumQueen · 09/01/2013 13:25

I don't brown anything for Slow Cooker. Spaghetti bolognese in it as I type. I used frozen veg, just thawed it first with hot water from kettle. Once kids have eaten, I will take a few portions out for them, then add kidney means etc and spice it up for chilli for us.

Not doing at all well this week. Introduced exercise, but eaten crap as I have felt crap. Had a better night, so hopefully will feel less crap soon, and more motivated.

What is the Actifry like Nappy? It sounds too good to be true.

StuntNun · 09/01/2013 13:34

I have never tried this but my childminder swears you can cook a chicken from frozen in the slow cooker Shock

I suppose so long as it reaches the right temperature internally then it's fine but I was always too scared to try.

ValiumQueen · 09/01/2013 14:06

I have been putting yogurts in the freezer as they disappear in seconds if chilled. Works with frubes for the kids too. No use by dates to worry about, and I swear they taste better. They need to stand for about 10 mins unless you want to bend your spoon.

OP posts:
Sophiathesnowfairy · 09/01/2013 14:14

I do that with frubes too vq

NappyHappy · 09/01/2013 14:16

I test the internal temp of the meat with a meat thermometer and as long as its over 70deg then I know its cooked. Chicken is in it now Grin

I love my Actifry, you can make healthier roast potatoes in it too, chicken nuggets, sausages and other roast veg but you have to be careful with battered stuff as the coating cones off. Anything fatty like sausages, nuggets, onion rings you don't need to add any oil. Just fill the green spoon and it works out about a dessert spoon full.

I've been feeling a bit down this week and really needed chocolate then found we ice cream bars in the fridge!!

YellowWellies · 09/01/2013 17:34

See we have a Rayburn which everyone raves about (it's just one of the few options for heating up here on the islands off the gas network), but you know what - my £10 Tesco slow cooker cooks things better than my Rayburn. my five grand to install Rayburn Shock

INeedThatForkOff · 09/01/2013 17:50

CandyPop, have a bit of chocolate, otherwise you will crack and potentially fall off the wagon. I had a Mrs Crimbles coconut and choc macaroon before. Yum!
