WW new starter today. Anyone else?

Hello if you did. I'm going to take a peek at the established WW threads, but also wanted to say hi to anyone who joined today.

I managed to weigh in at exactly the same weight I was when I first started losing weight with weightwatchers 2 years ago. Between then and now, I lost 20lb, got into a healthy weight range (just) and decided that was a healthy goal. Unfortunately I let it slip so here I am again, trying to get my head around the ppts values again.

Hello to anyone else who is new and I hope we do well.

Hi, just joined today - want to lose about the same; between 1 and 1 and a half stone. Wishing you luck!

2kidsintow · 21/04/2012 22:19

Thanks idealism. First day done. Annoyingly, to get your free week from the voucher, you can't register monthly pass and use the esource yet, but thankfully I was given a shop book by a friend and still have a ppt calculator. So I spent an hour reaquainting myself with the ppt values and making a list of the most used foods in my kitchen.

I've had a lot of fruit I wouldn't normally eat, and have had 2 nice meals and a snack of cereal for supper. Slightly hungry, but not going to eat anything else tonight.

Day one done.

On day 3 now - and lost 2lb! fab stuff! Am doing it online - not a fan of the weigh-ins...

TIDDLYMUM · 23/04/2012 21:33

Hi (waves) ! ME too joined last Thurs- been doing Sw for ages but can't get into it though have been successful in the past.

Lots of people at work are doing v well on ww so thought I'd have a bash. Would love to lose a stone and a half- stone will do for starters though:)

Made a nice big pot of veg soup for work lunch- sweated off veg in stock so that's no points right? Morrisons are doing a big bag of chopped veg for £1. Easy to make! Good luck everyone!!!

FlouncyMcFlouncer · 24/04/2012 08:25

I joined yesterday, weighed in at 24st.

My first target is to get down from a size 30-32 to a 24-ish..

idealism · 24/04/2012 22:08

Good luck Tiddlymum and Flouncy - we can do it! I'm having day 3 munchie withdrawal headaches....

TIDDLYMUM · 24/04/2012 22:48

I have just had a beer:( . I find it fine when at work ( eating not beer) but harder at home. Good luck to you too- we WILL do it!!!

MrsLetchlady · 24/04/2012 22:58

Me! I joined WW tonight (online) after a reminder on another MN post and the diet starts in earnest tomorrow so I've spent all evening eating up all the children's easter eggs Grin.

quick q? is the 49 points extra a weekly thing? Like a kind of buffer zone? Bit confused, probably cos in my head I've done ww 3 times now, once when I only had 18 points a day, and second time when I did their no count diet. This one taking a while to get used to.

FlouncyMcFlouncer · 26/04/2012 10:14

Yes, the weekly 49 points are 'in case'. For example, as I am a fat knacker large lady I get 50 points a day, but on Tuesday I used 52, so took 2 from my Weekly 49. However, you're NOT allowed to carry 'spare' points over to the next day from your daily total - so yesterday, when I only used 42, I 'lost' 8.

idealism · 27/04/2012 22:55

thanks for that!

2kidsintow · 27/04/2012 23:04

Eeek....slight hiccup as I'd been counting my alllowance as 29 per day as that was the minimum you could have on propoints when I first joined ww. Turns out I'm on 27 so many of the weeklies I had left were swallowed up allowing for that.

Good news - I lost 3.5lb in my first week.
Bad news - tracker says that means I'm now down to 26 points.

I'll give that a go next week then - although the tracker said that you can choose to alter the points back up to 29 if you want. Not sure about that. I think I'll stick to my 27 points and see how I can get on with that.

Hope my other new starters had a good first week.

Hi,

I am doing this but have bypassed WW and am using the ultimate diary app on my phone. The app calculates points etc, you can update it as you go through the day etc.

I have 27 pp a day, and have lost 5lbs so far (first week). I want to lose another 28 to be really slim but could settle for 14 to be in a healthy weight range.

Do you all use the weeklys and does anyone else drink wine etc? I'm going to start the 30 day shred today too.

pinkappleby · 28/04/2012 15:57

Hello. I started (again) on Tuesday. I lost 2.5 stone last year with ww online (which has stayed off) and have now rejoined to shift the next stone. I haven't told anyone, not even dh as am scared of faliure. This stone will take me back to pre kids weight and so is psychogically important to me. So far, so good.

Have just found out how much air popped popcorn you can have for 3 points - it's a LOT. Will be doing that when fed up with fruit.

I always use all my weely points, I feel so deprived otherwise and the pace of weightloss was still ok.

pinkappleby · 28/04/2012 15:58

And ww meals are 3 for £3 in Sainsbos at the mo, which is very cheap and they are ok and extremely easy if you want the odd day when you eat seperately to the rest of the family.

2kidsintow · 29/04/2012 18:33

Oh dear....a bit of a tricky weekend here. Now I need to stick to just my 27 ppts daily as I've used all my weeklies on a few indulgences over the weekend.

On the plus side, that is one of the benefits of them - I don't feel like I've blown my diet out of the water.

I can't weigh in on Fri this week as I'm working when my normal meeting is on and the alternative I'd go to clashes with an appt for my DD to visit the high school she is going to in Sept.

PeachyPossum · 30/04/2012 07:15

2lbs down this week :) I'm going to see what a difference upping my water intake will make, also going to add a walk at lunch time if the sunshine stays!

How is everyone else getting on?

Does anyone have any diet booster tips/ideas? I just read that cinnamon can up your metabolism - cinnamon on WW toast it is then Hmm

waitingtobeamummy · 30/04/2012 07:35

Just wanted to tell you all your doing a fabulous job. I've been doing w.w for just under 6months and am just shy of losing 50lb. I find it a nice easy one to follow. Stick with it as you are all fab!

pinkappleby · 30/04/2012 21:37

I feel like I have had a good first week and am meant to weigh in tomorrow but am not going to as it might destroy my will power if I have had a good week strangely.

2kidsintow · 01/05/2012 21:35

Thanks Waiting....and congratulations on your fab progress.
I'm being sabotaged left, right and centre this second week and will be happy to lose anything. What I'm not going to do, though, is to use it as an excuse to give up. My weekend was disasterous. Mon and today are going to end up over points too. It looks like a blessing to not be able to attend my normal meeting on Fri due to work or my alternate meeting Thurs due to high school meeting as I think I'm just having a completely new start tomorrow.

I'm portioning out the weekly points and sticking to somewhere between the 27 and 34 points a day as that worked last week.

TIDDLYMUM · 04/05/2012 23:03

Three off- dead pleased!!!! Feeling inspired! I had a ww pizza for tea- it was ok.

Good luck everyone.

PeachyPossum · 06/05/2012 09:35

Well done Tiddly :)

I weigh tomorrow but had a sneak peak and think i've sts. I haven't gone over points but have managed to fit in too much Vodka and am due on. Does anyone else find time of month impacts their weight loss?

PeachyPossum · 13/05/2012 21:17

Is anyone still following?

I did lose last week, but have sts this week - still not come on though so I know why! Hopefully next week will be better, esp with the PMT cravings out of the way.

ilovesooty · 13/05/2012 22:39

I joined on Tuesday but will have to weigh in either tomorrow night or Wednesday as I have something on on Tuesday night. Have 26 points and a good 5-7 stone to lose eventually. Have stuck really rigidly to the points (I track on the computer daily) and haven't used the 49 weekly points this week.

TIDDLYMUM · 17/05/2012 22:44

How we all doing? Two and a half off this week- delighted! Good luck!!
