Fit February

Hi all

I'm gonna do Fit February again this year. It basically means committing to a month (Feb so a short month) of health and sobriety in order to greet March by feeling and, of course, looking fabulous.

Can I persuade anyone to join me?

In my case it means . . .

No alcohol
No Tea
No Coffee
No Sugar
No Meat (am usually a meat eater)

Lots of Exercise
Lots of Sleep
Lots of Water
Lots of Fruit
Lots of Vegetables
Lots of Books, music, dancing, laughing, socialising, films, happiness and less telly.

I also want to shift some weight and would welcome my skin getting clearer and my eyes less baggy.

I currently weigh 60.5kg or 9st 7 1/4 lbs. Which for someone of my lack of height makes me pretty portly. I'm only 5' 2".

I want to be under 9 stone by March - preferably waayyyyyyy under 9 stone.

I also want to have more energy, be less grumpy with dh and the kiddies and generally have rediscovered my mojo.

I know this is from the ghastly DM but this article basically states the obvious but may have some helpful points for us all.

Whoop-de-doo. I have lost 3 lbs in a week.

Today isn't going so well though. I've been helping out at school so haven't had enough water and haven't exercised apart from an extra school run.

Absolutely craving carbs now. Sad

Woo Hoo well done FoundWanting, 3lb in a week is ace.

I've lost about the same in 10 or so days, so HURRAH for us!

Have you completely given up carbs FoundWanting? Can you not just cut them out after say 6pm?

I've cut out the big baddies (bread, pasta, rice, cakes and most fruit). Mostly because they make me feel so bloated these days - especially pasta.

It is harder when DCs asked for jacket potatoes for supper or DH brings home doughnuts as a 'treat'.

I do feel musch better for it, and much lighter than 3 lbs would account for.

Hey, thought I'd bump this up again.

How's everyone doing? We are halfway through the month now...

I've been using the MyFitnessPal app for a week and it's absolutely brilliant so far - really makes me think about all the random incidental snacking, and it urged me to walk instead of getting the bus etc - seeing those numbers rise and fall is very motivating! Lost 2lb this week.

Also went to my first ever fitness classes (legs bums and tums, and pilates) which were both really fun. Am planning to try each type of class once and overall go to one a week.

Well done on losing 2lbs. I'll be weighing in tomorrow morning. Been doing ok, I think, but I am going to have at least half a bottle of pink champagne tonight. Grin

I'm quite pleased that I've been out to eat twice recently but I was really good. Had a leggera pizza, nothing else at pizza express, so only 500cal roughly. I even resisted DDs doughballs!!! And today at nandos I just had a bit of chicken, rice and a few chips.

You know what, I enjoyed these meals SO much more than I normally do. Usually I eat loads and end up with that over full feeling. But these times I knew exactly what I'd have and I made the most of it, and was guilt free :)
