This is a shiney new thread for everyone who has the new years resolution of losing weight. I am going to post my vitaks and my plan and hopefully someone will join me. It doesn;t matter if you have a different plan or a different amount to lose we can all ust support each other.

My Mum died in 2010 (April) of a heart condition, she would have been a lot better off if she has lost some weight and looked after herself a bit more, my sister now has a heart issue and i really don't want to go down that route! So here i am the most serious i have ever been about losing weight.

I have stuck up some pictures of me 'now' around my mirror (looking like a whale) and a picture of my Mum and my kids.

I have weighed myself and measured all my bits and bobs.

They are as follows.

Height - 5ft 1
Weight - 11st 5lbs
Waist - 36inch
Hips - 39inch
Thigh - 23 inch
Arm - 12 inch
Chest - 40 inch
Bum - 40 inch

Personally im just trying to cut back on all the junk I know I eat, I have told DP that 'takeout Tuesday' is no more.

I have signed up for dance classes and will start walking where i can rather than using the car.
I am going to get the weight loss game for the Xbox Kinnect.
Make swaps of Tea instead of Lattes.

Im going to drink more Water and move more.

Im giving myself a small target at first of 5lbs and then will move it when i get there.

I am giving myself a month if I am not progressing I am going back to Slimming World.

So there you have it.... anyone fancy coming along for the ride? Smile

I have 3stone to lose, it's scary but im doing it in little chunks. Im aiming for 11st first so that is only a 5lb 'goal' then i will do it half a stone at a time.

OP posts:
aristocat · 04/01/2011 11:48

i am 11st 11 today and want to be under 10 st.

Phish 6 stone is definitely do-able Smile
please dont be daunted by thinking of 6 stone, i am losing one stone at a time.

the first thing is to have some good scales; it is such a good feeling when you see the weight coming off you will want to continue.

when i started i was a size 20 and now i am a 16 (sometimes 14)

my results so far -
June 2010 ~ 15 1/2st
now ~ 11 11lb

i changed my portion sizes and stopped ALL choc/crisps/biscuits/cakes however after losing 7lb i allow myself a reward (chocolate) Grin

finding the willpower has always been my downfall previously, but i am dtermined to be slimmer & healthier .......

PhishFoodAddiction · 04/01/2011 15:26

Aristocat, your willpower sounds amazing! You're doing so well, I'm sure you'll get to your target weight this year. Do you weigh yourself once a week or less often?

I've changed my target weight loss on food focus- I've put in that I want to lose 7lbs and that should happen by Feb. It feels a bit more doable in small chunks.

I'm still feeling crap with this flu, and DDs are both poorly as well, but I've managed to avoid the temptation to comfort eat. And I didn't order any 'goodies' from the supermarket this week may come a cropper when the DDs realise there are no biscuits in the house though Grin.

aristocat · 04/01/2011 15:56

Phish i probably weigh myself every day ..... which i know you should not do ..... but it has become a slight obsession Blush
the only good thing about being ill with flu is that it does curb your appetite - i had flu before xmas too, theres no escape from it!
hoping you and DDs get better soon Smile

TitsalinaBumSquash · 04/01/2011 16:32

Ok day today.

2o mins Kinect this morning.

I had fruit for Breakfast, Omlette for Lunch and a Spag Bol for dinner, it was lean mince though with tons of veg and I only had a tiny bit with lots of steamed veg.

OP posts:
BubblesDeVine · 04/01/2011 17:19

Can I join you? I had my own thread but it dropped off the front page so i'd rather join in with you Grin

I'm 5ft8 and weighed in at 11st5 on Sunday morn and want to get to about 9st10ish (small size 10 instead of large 12 I am now)

I'm calorie counting with an app on my phone and aiming to get back into running when DCs are back in school tomorrow! Will be aiming for 3 x 30mins exercise a week (running or DVD) and one active family thing at the weekend (walk/swim or whatever)

I'm hoping for a big loss by Fri morn to spur me on...usually drop a few pounds on week 1 of these things and although I know it's water not fat it still helps Smile

TitsalinaBumSquash · 04/01/2011 17:23

Of course you can Bubbles Im enjoying my first cup of coffee since NYD, I can't drink coffee without sugar but its only 1tsp, probably a mistake my body is gonna go nuts after years of daily coffee abuse down to noting for 4 days then another 'hit'

By the way bubbles did you used to be Bubblesdevere?

OP posts:
BubblesDeVine · 04/01/2011 17:29

No I was JustBeachy for ages...got a bit bored though - new year, new name and all that! I could not manage without coffee and usually have 2 cups (white no sug) instead of breakfast...not "good" I know but I really can't face eating until 10am at the earliest!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 04/01/2011 17:33

Lol, I could easy skip Breakfast and Lunch, it just doesn't occur to me to eat so I end up grabbing snacks from shops and cafes, usually pastries, crisps, full fat lattes and chips! Its hard to eat 3 healthy meals a day!

OP posts:
BubblesDeVine · 04/01/2011 18:01

I know I am a fiend for living on biscuits and an evening meal!!! Not today though - soup lunch and stuffed peppers and salad for dinner :0)

PhishFoodAddiction · 04/01/2011 19:14

Thanks aristocat. I've definitely eaten less over Christmas thanks to being ill, maybe it's a blessing in disguise! Just hope the girls get better soon, poor things are like zombies Sad and meant to be back at nursery and playgroup on Thursday.

I couldn't resist the urge to weigh myself Blush the good news is I'm heading in the right direction! Really going to try not to get on them again til Saturday...

Good luck with getting back into running Bubbles.

You're doing well Titsalina, I couldn't give up my cuppas so I've decided to still have 2 sugars but just drink fewer cups Grin.

BubblesDeVine · 05/01/2011 10:12

Woo hoo! Just got back from a 30min run! Was fun actually even though the last bit was hard...can only get easier though right?! Am planning soup for lunch and mushroom omelette and green beans for tea. Hope you all have a good day :0)

batgirl · 05/01/2011 15:00

Just reporting on my progress so far - ok-ish!

Have been to the gym this morning & hope to get a quick swim in before work tomorrow.

I have mostly eaten well & have abstained from wine with my evening meal.

On the negative side - I did have toast for breakfast today (one of my planned "not to do"s), but it was a considered descision after working out how much energy I'd burnt at the gym!

glad to hear you're all doing well - I'm off to roast butternut squash for tomorrow's lunch.

BubblesDeVine · 05/01/2011 16:36

Well done on all the exercise batgirl

I am just making a vat of green soup (onion, garlic, leek, spinach, broccoli, courgette, parsley) as I finished the carrot and coriander I made on monday today - that's lunch for the next two days sorted! If it's not there in the fridge ready to microwave i'm sure to end up eating biscuits or cheese and crackers instead!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 05/01/2011 17:34

Evening all. Smile

Not to bad today, I have been at college all day and they sprung a final litracy exam on me!
I resisted the usual bucket of Coffee I buy in the morning and opted for a diet COke and a bottle of water. I had a big salad bowl and fruit bowl for lunch not creamy salads all just raw veg and fruit.

Big baked spud with Beans for dinner.

Im feeling good, not sure if i will have lost anything but im feeling better in myself so I shall keep going either way.
I paid for the Coffee yesterday about half an hour after I drank it i got a blinding headache. I have sworn off it now for a while at least.

I walk to and from collage and my class is on the 5th floor (no lifts) no a bit of excersise for me today.
Going shopping tonight with a full belly so hopefully not much temptation ut lots of Fruit, Veg, lean mean, Fish and wholeweat pasta.

Halos all round I think!

love the sound of your soup Bubbles.

Titsalina, I meant to ask you what course you are doing at college? I did a catering course a few years ago, City & Guilds prof cooking. I enjoyed it soo much - but it really didn't help my weight, you have to have iron discipline and/or a starving family!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 05/01/2011 20:46

Im not quite sure yet! Probably just level one professional cookery.
I used to head chef at a few resturaunts when I wwas younger but didn't actually have the qualifications so it's just a case of going and getting the bit of paper to say I can do it!
I had to leave school due to family ishoos when I was younger so im currently getting ym level 2 ENglish and Maths GCSE so I can get onto a higher course in September.

OP posts:
BubblesDeVine · 06/01/2011 22:17

Lots of soup today and three chocolates! Christmas stuff is still lurkig and tempting me - grr! Am hoping to run tomorrow if not too rainy...

BubblesDeVine · 07/01/2011 07:11

Weighed in at 11st this morning so 5lbs off since Sunday! Going to search out my Davina DVD if the weather doesn't brighten up for a run and burn some calories so I can have Lamb Tagine with spinach and cous cous and wine for tea tonight - delish!

Also need to whizz up some more soup tomorrow - what flavour to choose? Leek and potato maybe?? Any suggestions?

TitsalinaBumSquash · 07/01/2011 08:26

Not great yesterday I may have eaten the crispy skin off the roast chicken and a few extra roast potatoes, by that point i thought sod it and had a flake bar to. Blush

I have woken up with new energy and I am not going to let yesterday tip me off the wagon. So that is me all confessed!

I have had fruit fro breakfast and I hav a left over Chicken drumstick (no skin!) to have with salad for Lunch and a healthy Curry for dinner that i will have with Veg rather than Rice and a Nann. Smile

I have finally been paid so am hoping to buy the fitness thing for the Kinnect.

Hi ladies ! Braved the tape measure last night - seems Im 48 47 46 OMG! not sure Im doing it right as I shouldnt be able to get in size 18 jeans with that waist but did it twice and it said the same.I bike four miles to work and four miles back but that only helps me maintain my weight so will have to unwrap that nice shiny exercise dvd! Am trying to put songs on new mp3 player but failing miserably-anyone have a twelve year old I could borrow to do it for me! technology is beyond me!Anyone used playstation Move? Is it any good for shifting the pounds ?

BubblesDeVine · 09/01/2011 14:01

Not too bad this weekend - I am always going to find weekends harder with DH and the kids around but apart from drinking far too much wine and an incident with some cheese and crackers it's been OK. Went for a run this morning too...back into strict mode tomorrow and am going to aim to cut out the booze til next Friday which is not that easy Blush

aristocat · 10/01/2011 08:21

no change for me ATM, hope everyone is ok Smile

PhishFoodAddiction · 10/01/2011 10:10

I lost 4lbs this week! Shock Grin

Probably put it all back on yesterday though- we had belated Boxing Day at PILs (I was ill on Boxing Day so missed out) so we had a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, christmas pud with brandy sauce, then a little buffet at tea time followed by trifle and a choccie bun! Oops lol, but on a good note I didn't actually eat all that much, no second helpings and DH finished off my trifle so that doesn't count Wink.

Hope you've all had a good weekend.

PhishFoodAddiction · 14/01/2011 14:11

Just bumping, wondering how you're all getting on?
