Seven weeks to go (and a bit).

Post your top tips, progress and party frocks here so that we can all ooh and aah. Together we will be the Belles of the Balls. Grin
This is similar to mine except in midnight blue, all ready for the 21st December, but a little unforgiving. I'm hoping to lose 7lbs which will get me down to 9 stone 13lbs.

Oooh!! Nice dress! I haven't found a dress yet but will keep looking.
Great to have a new thread, will post my progress later in the week, are we having a weigh in day?

FoundWanting · 03/11/2010 09:40

Nice to see you again, Belle.

I'd prefer to weigh in on a Friday rather than a Monday - weekends are a dangerous time.

The dress I posted is for a 'do', I haven't got anything for Xmas Eve or Christmas day. I think I'll be cooking, so it's got to be practical. Last year I managed to drape my beautiful French Connection floaty top in the gravy - nice.Grin

Hello and goodbye all - got to my target and more now 8stone 7lb - so a total of 3 stone 3 lb lost since May. I am so pleased with myself and have a change of mindset which has come i feel from using food focus and spending time exercising. Now have a regular exercise regime - legs, bums and tums and swimming x3 a week and feeling very positive.

Happy hunting for those dresses you will all look fab Grin and thank you for your encouragement over the months.

FoundWanting · 05/11/2010 12:21

coffeekaren Congratulations! That is amazing. Well done.

Now I really want to know what you'll be wearing at Christmas - you will have so much choice.Grin

Weighed today and have lost 3lbs in the last 10 days. Back to 10 stone 3.

However, fireworks party tonight; out for lunch with friend on Saturday; DS1 and my mum have their birthdays next week. Will try to make sensible choices and do a bit more walking....

Still looking for something to wear on Xmas day. I'll be cooking, so I want to be comfortable and glamourous. Sleeves, but not long sleeves. And something that will allow me to over-indulge in the food, but doesn't look like a maternity smock. Hey ho!

Hope you've all had good weeks.

OP posts:
Dillinger · 12/11/2010 11:48

Well done FoundWanting Smile

I could do with shifting another 7lbs but with no exercise Im kidding myself arent I! Need to get on with the shred dvd but Im lazy and dont want to get undressed in my cold house. Brr!

If you're anything like me, you'll be nice and glam on xmas day morning, but end up swapping your heels for slippers shortly after Blush

PreciousLittle · 12/11/2010 14:16

Hello,

I started off in the September challenge thread at 160, now down to 151. I want to be anywhere south of 145 by Xmas.

So... 5'8", 151

FoundWanting · 12/11/2010 22:21

Thanks, Dillinger.

Do you really want to lose another half a stone? You're nearly at your target, aren't you? What clothes size are you/do you want to be?

Hello PreciousLittle and welcome. I'm guessing that is pounds not kilos you are working in. Grin What are you doing to lose weight? Any tips gratefully received.

Where are the frocks ladies? It is not the heels that do for me, it is always sleeves which I manage to trail in the gravy or baste along with the bird.Sad Of course, there was the memorable cowl-neck year...managed to drag that through bread sauce as I reached for something at the back of the stove.

OP posts:
PreciousLittle · 13/11/2010 14:22

Yes, that's pounds! I hate working in kilos as they're harder to shift. Grin

What am I doing? Being very calorie conscious and running/walking 45 minutes at least 6 days/week.

FoundWanting - cowl neck in the bread sauce... once you put on the nice dress, let someone else finish the cooking!

Dillinger · 13/11/2010 18:44

Foundwanting my god I just laughed out loud at your description Grin I agree with Precious Little - you can't possibly be the one to do the cooking in your glam state. I sit and be merry Blush

Well Im still a size 12, my clothes are just a little looser but Im not a 10 I think. So a 10 would be good.

I really need a kick up the backside where it comes to exercise, running has really gone to the wayside with the dark mornings and evenings etc I have a treadmill but I bloody hate it on there. Need to just get on with it really Hmm

I think now Ive got close to 9st Ive let things slip a bit.

PreciousLittle · 13/11/2010 21:21

Those last five pounds are killer, aren't they?? I really really want to see 149 on the scale by the end of next week. And then I never ever want to see 150+ again!!

Dillinger · 14/11/2010 09:35

Yes they are! I want to get under 9st and never go above it again! Told myself I'll really crack on with things again starting tomorrow, Ive got no excuse have I.

FoundWanting · 14/11/2010 10:04

It is a numbers game for all of us then.Grin

I just want to be 9 stone something, even if that something is 13.5 lbs.

Love the idea of letting someone else cook. However, I think I'd have trouble surviving Christmas without any excuse to hide in the kitchen.

OP posts:
Dillinger · 15/11/2010 10:24

Well looks like Im sticking at 9st 2lb at the moment.. Im not changing the list though til I weigh on friday Grin

This whole thing is a pain in the backside isnt it. A good thing to remind myself should I slack off - such hard work to get to where I want to be!

FoundWanting · 20/11/2010 09:12

Weighed in this morning and am exactly 10 stone. Another pound off, but I am struggling a bit in this cold weather. It makes me crave carbs.

Bought this dress last week. The colours are much stronger than in the picture so it might do for the day. Nothing drapey or dangling! Plus it was silly cheap so I won't be precious about spills.

OP posts:
Dillinger · 23/11/2010 10:31

Ooh FoundWanting I like that dress, the colours look lovely.

I appear to be sticking at 9st 1lb, I did the shred dvd last week, but havent yet this week. My house is so bloody cold I am NOT stripping off Blush Brr Im in so many layers and welcome washing the dishes as it warms my hands up.

Lazy me

Belle03 · 23/11/2010 18:03

Sorry ladies, am ducking out, things not good for me at the moment Sad I'm going to put my head down & get throught Christmas & will check in to see if anyone's dong a thread in the new year x

Dillinger · 23/11/2010 19:28

Belle03 I really hope you're okay. Dont forget how much support there is available if you need it.

Rest assured I'll be on a thread in the new year Blush having undone half of my hard work.

Dillinger · 07/12/2010 13:46

Right everyone, enough slacking off *cracks whip Grin

Where are you all at? Hows it going? Belle I hope you are okay.

Ive been doing the shred but not noticing any difference in weight though I know muscle weighs more etc its a little off putting.

FoundWanting · 11/12/2010 08:21

Sorry to hear that you are having a bad time, Belle. I hope things work out.

Haven't dared weigh in for ages because I've been stuffing my face pretty much constantly. I hate being cold. Hate it.

Anyway, plucked up the courage yesterday and ...have stayed the same. Xmas Grin Amazing. I think it is the 'core body workout' that is walking the school run on icy pavements. Absolutely knackering, but unlike other forms of exercise, I have no choice.

How is everyone else doing? Two weeks to go...

OP posts:
Dillinger · 18/12/2010 11:58

Well. I had been low carbing and using the shred dvd. Bought a new dress, shoes, a pair of those 'suck you in' knickers, dyed my hair and bought something pretty to wear in it. All for dp's works 'do'.

I COULDNT SODDING GO! Twas last night and babysitters couldnt make it due to the snow. Friends either ill or busy and so I stayed home whilst dp went for a little while.

Turns out I didnt miss much at all, a lot couldnt make it but I really wanted to go out and dress up a bit Xmas Blush

So anyway Ive just had a really sickly hot chocolate and later Im planning on eating crisps.

FoundWanting · 21/12/2010 10:45

Dillinger I feel your pain.

Every year, for the last 12 years, my family have had a Christmas Eve party. I am one of 5 so it has been the chance for us all to get together and present swap before doing our separate things on Christmas Day.

This year my middle sister is hosting...on Thursday! I can't go, Dh is working, eldest brother can't go and nor can youngest sister. Bah flipping Humbug.

Not only have I got to find some sort of alternate entertainment for DCs on Christmas Eve, I don't know how to get everyone's presents to them and my festive party dress will remain unworn. Xmas Sad

OP posts:
Dillinger · 21/12/2010 10:53

Oh no FoundWanting thats such a shame. Can you all get together on a different day instead this year? The weather is making a lot of things difficult isnt it. My parents and siblings are 250 miles away so I doubt v much I shall be seeing them, I feel pretty lonely at xmas, usually I can get through the year okay without missing them too much but christmas is difficult.

Id like to dress up for xmas day but after a while I just want to slob out and cosy up so its a bit pointless Xmas Blush
