Is slow progress on Mounjaro after six months quite common?

Any advice? I started mounjaro around 6 months ago. I'm now on 10mg injections and have lost one and a half stone. I feel I have invested so much money so far but my progress is so slow. I have increased my daily steps, cut down on snacking, drink lots of squash and cut down on alcohol. I feel I eat so much less than I was but I'm not really losing weight. I still have around 4 stone to go really. Is this common? What have you done to try and speed things up.?

It can happen. Once you've lost a bit of weight, your ability to create a calorie deficit will reduce as you are using less energy to move around daily. Do you calorie count at all? It can be useful to do so for a week or so, and compare that to your TDEE for an idea of what sort of deficit you are in.

I started adding a lot more walking and running into my week once I'd shifted some weight, as well as things like intermittent fasting every now and again.

It's normal for weight loss to slow as you lose weight. If it doesn't pick up again after a month or two then you are eating enough calories to maintain your new body weight and have a few different options to chose between.

Either you accept that you aren't going to lose more weight and concentrate on maintaining the loss that you did achieve, or you recalculate your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) using your new lighter weight, in order to further reduce your daily calorie intake until you are consistently eating fewer calories than your metabolism burns through in a day.

You can make it a lot easier on yourself by increasing your Mounjaro dose at the same time as you decrease your calorie allowance. The higher doses are more expensive so you really should track your calories or you may just be wasting the money.

Cut our sugar drinks and fat. Calorie count. No snacks and low alcohol intake. I’ve lost nearly 3 stones in 6 months and gone from a 20 to a 14/16 size. But I am very careful about what I eat - I’m on 7.5.

Thanks both. I will start logging my calories tomorrow
