Tips for restarting weight loss after a stall on MJ

Hi all

I’ve been on MJ for 14 months and slowly lost about 60lbs in that time. I have another 15 to go but have totally stalled since the beginning of summer. Hoping to use the hive mind for positive tips you’ve tried to kick start things again!

I currently have:

  • drink 2-3 litres of water daily
  • exercise 3 times a week
  • Walk at least 30 mins each day

is there anything you did to smash a stalemate? Thanks in advance!

You need to reduce your calories, you’re eating to maintenance.

Check my tdee and eat in a deficit www.tdeecalculator.net make sure to adjust the body fat %, it is preset to 15 which is similar to an athlete! I found better weight loss when I ate less carbs and increased my protein and water. I actually never exercised due to my crazy 11hr working and commute days 5 days a week and working half day Saturday on top every month so I focused on calorie deficit by tracking macros and calories on myfitnesspal app.

Thank you - this is really helpful! I haven’t checked my tdee in a while. I too have a manic commute so can’t exercise as much as I’d like to so it’s heartening to hear your story !

thank you!

Are you on the top dose (15 mg)?

PearlsTeapot · 20/09/2026 20:48

What dose are you on? Do you track your calories? I'd work out your tdee then track for a week and see.

Thanks for the replies! I’m on 6mg but too nauseous to function in any higher. I’ll do tdee again and looks like serious calorie counting incoming!

Re: nausea. Are you minimising fatty and carb heavy foods as they’re guaranteed to make me feel sick if I eat them?
