Mounjaro Leg Pain

I started mounjaro around 10 months ago and in that time lost around 3 stone. Brilliant. I loved it. Had no side effects and felt great on it.

about 5 weeks ago I took my final does of 5mg (never went above this) and then one 2.5mg around 2 weeks ago in a bit of a panic that my appetite was coming back. Nothing since.

For the last 4 weeks I’ve been having difficulty with my legs. At first they were just restless but over the last week I’ve had cramping and twitching. I’m now at the stage where it’s painful to walk as my calves are super tight.

GP says that this is a typical side effect of coming off mounjaro!

anyone else had anything similar?

Did he say why and do further tests? Give you and treatment?

They’ve referred me for bloods so heading to get them this morning. Also got Naproxen for the pain but apart from that they just basically said to wait to out as it’ll pass through my system eventually.

Never heard of that to be honest.

Did he provide a link to any evidence? I haven’t heard of this and think he might be giving you the brush off.

I would be seeking a second opinion.

I've had restless legs since going up to 7.5. Magnesium supplements have helped. Plus plenty of water and stretching.

I got leg symptoms and after doing a lot of research, this is much better recognised in the USA. ultimately, it comes from the fact that losing weight makes it much easier to sit with your legs crossed more comfortably and the nerves in your legs and muscles in your legs are used to having a bit of fat cushioning them. I was completely militant about not crossing my legs at the knee (it gives you varicose veins anyway) and it all cleared up within about 2 weeks. If I ever started crossing my legs again, it came back a bit but now I've kept the weight off for 12 months, it seems to be less sensitive and I don't have to watch what I'm doing so closely, but I still try not to cross my legs most of the time. I hope it works for you.
