DH - complete novices - where to start?

DH is interested in Wegovy. BMI 31, pre-diabetic. We have absolutely no idea where to start! Do you just randomly get on the internet and start googling or is there a more sophisticated approach we should be taking?

Me and dh were complete novices but went with MedExpress. It’s been so good for us. I lost 4 stone and am now 8 and dh lost 6 1/2 and is now 12 5. We did it over a year and we are now in maintenance. Good luck 😉

You can just search for online weight loss pharmacies, and choose a name you recognise. They should be GPhC registered and display that on their website.

There is a price comparison site called https://igovy.co.uk/wegovy-price-comparison-uk/ that lists suppliers. Most are just online pharmacies, some are weight loss specialist companies who will want you to sign up to a subscription and offer additional support like apps, AI coaching and so on. So it depends what you want.

Your DH will qualify for weight loss medication with his BMI alone, given that it's over 30.

It may be worth your DH talking to his NHS GP as well as doing online research as he has a co-morbidity—they don’t like people developing full-blown type 2 diabetes if they can help it.

There are a lot of private doctors and online pharmacies out there, it has become more competitive lately. I went with Voy because my BMI was under 27, and they’ve been good & responsive, but your DH isn’t in that situation.

Basically yes. Go online and do research, there’s so much of it out there, that’s where I started.

@LadyGardenersQuestionTime the Asda Online Doctor website has a lot of well presented information about weight loss medication, which is publicly accessible. For example, this is a useful page about Wegovy injections:

https://onlinedoctor.asda.com/uk/wegovy-weight-loss-timeline-week-by-week.html

I started with Asda back in July 2024 and I had no issues with them in terms of customer service. They were a bit too expensive for me back then so I moved away, but they seem fairly competitive these days.
