Nutracheck users - what do you do about not finishing a meal?

Hi all - quite a unique question, so not sure whether anyone can help. New to Mounjaro and new to using Nutracheck.

I am logging ingredients into Nutracheck whilst I am cooking, based on portion size. But finding I am either too full to finish the meal, or consciously choosing not too. Then having the leftovers the following day for lunch, and perhaps adding more protein or veg to it. What do you do about logging, when you would have already logged the full portion you havent finished. Do you just add all the ingredients again, based on the new portion, over compensating ? Or don't log, as over the week, the week log will be accurate?

Hope that makes sense !!

Weigh the portion before you start eating. If you don't eat it all weigh what's left and calculate the calories for the amount you ate.

Thanks for the idea, but I use pre cook individual weights of each ingredient to add to the app, so this wouldn't work

I add the ingredients to a "meal" on the app (in the "my meals") tab. You can then record you've eaten half a portion, etc.

To be honest I tend to eyeball if I've had "about 3/4" or whatever, but for accuracy you'd need to weigh the portion before and after like pp suggested.

I add the whole meal to MFP. If I don’t finish it I write a note that it was likely less calories. It doesn’t matter as long as it’s a deficit and you don’t go over target. For the new portion I’d probably eye ball eg 50% of..

If it's a single meal, it's easy enough to go back and edit the meal you've added, eg if you've listed 1 medium chicken breast and 100g of potatoes, go back and edit the amounts to 50%, or 75% of that item

If it's a meal that you batch cook, eg I do this with chilli - make the recipe once, weigh it, and then when I portion it out I weigh it. So at the weekend I cooked a chilli that weighed 1400g, tonight I've had 350g of my chilli recipe, and again I can amend the amount afterwards if I planned to eat more, but actually ate less. I do this with meals that I have regularly, I don't weigh it every time but I'm ok with a bit of margin for error (let's be frank, it's not the batch cooking that causes me to put on weight, it's things like chocolate, butter and mayonnaise where I need to be exact with my weighing!)

I understand what you mean about just logging the large meal today and not logging it tomorrow but actually eating it in two portions. This may not be relevant for you, but the reason I don't do that is because I'm hoping to come off the jabs eventually, and I want to use my food diary to look back on and remind myself a) what portions I actually needed to lose weight, or maintain and b) that I didn't die from eating a small portion!

Thanks all, that's really helpful. And Proteinpudding, that is a really good point about not just logging it once on one day, as that is exactly my intention too ! I lost 2 stone a few years ago, and used a written food diary. I have kicked myself so much for having thrown it away, meaning I cannot look back and understand exactly how I lost it (although I think a big contributer has been pre and post 40 !!)

I leave it. I am sure I underestimate calories sometimes so it balances out.

If I really only eat 1/2 of the portion then I may go back and change the ingredients from 1x to 1/2x of each but that happens not very often.
