Returning to Wegovy after a four week break, resume 1mg?

After a four week break over the holidays I need to return to Wegovy. I was on 1mg - should I go back to 1mg or go back to a lower dose?
I know I shouldn’t have taken such a long break but it’s so nice to be without the side effects.

If you were having significant side effects then I wouldn't jump back in at 1mg. You won't have any medication in your system at all now, so surely 0.5mg or 0.25mg would be a better place to start. If you've been 4 weeks without medication then spending 4 or 8 weeks working back up to 1mg is a reasonable time frame?

Surely it also depends on what strength pen you have or are able to order?

Whoever you order from will probably insist you start from scratch if you’ve had a four week break.

If you’re suffering bad side effects on Wegovy, it might be better to try Mounjaro as most people seem to tolerate it better?

If you have a 1mg pen currently I'd count the clicks and reduce your dose to 0.25 or 0.5mg but as you've had side effects at 1mg I'd start low and maybe don't go above 0.5 or treat your side effects or find out what is causing then such as if you are eating a type of food to trigger it. Too much fat gives me GI side effects.
Agree with post above mounjaro generally causes less side effects so you could try that

I’d be cautious about jumping straight back to 1mg after four weeks off, especially if you were having side effects before. Check with the prescriber who supplied your Weg because they can advise whether restarting lower would be more appropriate
