In person consultation Well Pharmacy - is it worth it?

Hi all, i'm nervous about starting WLI and not sure if it's for me or not, plus the cost is huge. My local chemist is offering a weight loss service for the jabs, Well Pharmacy cost about £150 for the 2.5 Mounjaro pen. I wanted to be able to speak to someone in person about it and having the actual pen from a real chemist might alleviate my fears of buying dud ones online. Has anyone else done this or am I just going to end up paying more and it's not necessary? Unsure what to do

I haven’t felt it necessary to see a pharmacist in person. I’m not sure what value they would add to the process. They would ask the same questions as on the online forms and process the information in the same way. I suppose you’d be able to pick up the pen there and then, rather than wait for next day delivery.

I’ve used various online pharmacies- they are all “real” pharmacies and all have to follow the same rules and guidelines as a high street pharmacy. I’ve never had a “dud” pen in over two years of using Mounjaro. They are all manufactured by Eli Lilly and all the pharmacies do is distribute them.

With new customer discounts, you can get your first order for around £100 for 2.5mg Mounjaro. Paying £50 more than that might be worth it if it helps you to get started - you can always go for an online pharmacy for your subsequent orders if you want to get a better deal.

I guess they'd do check ups, blood etc, and give you the chance to ask questions, so if you prefer that, do it.

I've used a local in person pharmacy throughout, but my reasons were around ongoing, neverending issues with getting deliveries reliably to my house. I didn't want the monthly worry of my pens wandering around the local area in heatwaves etc.

If I hadn't had that concern I think I would have tried online a long time ago. It was nice having the face to face contact initially but after a while you know what you're doing. If you use a legit pharmacy from the monj.co.uk list (all GPHC registered) you're not going to get a "dud" one.
