Foundayo - my provider has just offered it

Anyone have any knowledge. Seems to be like the Wegovy pill, but no restrictions on how/when to take it

@damemaggiescurledupperlip what sort of information did you want about it? It's a non-peptide GLP1 which is why it's better absorbed than the Wegovy tablet and therefore doesn't have the restrictions on when/how to take. It is less effective than Wegovy tablets, which are less effective than Wegovy injections which in turn are less effective than Mounjaro injections.

I would not switch to Foundayo if I still had weight to lose. I might consider it for longer term maintenance, but it would be a risk to swap to it rather than continue on with Mounjaro.

I have suddenly (after years) started to have side effects with MJ despite having gone down in dosage quite a lot. Losing more weight has become less important than not putting any back on - this might be the answer.

It’s absolutely correct to describe Foundayo as a maintenance option after weight loss - that’s precisely what the manufacturer is suggesting. But you can still lose weight on Foundayo.

Sounds like it might be good for long term maintenance.

Apologies for the poor phrasing. It would be a risk for me personally at this point in my weight loss journey, to swap to Foundayo given that Mounjaro is working for me and I still need to lose weight. I definitely did not mean to imply that Foundayo is generally risky, clearly it's not and has been approved for use in the UK.
