New style pens and click counting

I received my first new style pen today, although to be fair I've done well to avoid one until now!

I'm on 15mg so I know there are only 4 doses in it. Does anyone know if I count clicks to only take 12.5 would I get 5 doses out of it? Although I don't know if 12.5 will be enough with me being on 15 tbh

It contains 15x4 so 60mg.
If you want to take 12.5 that’s 60/12.5 that’s 4.8 so the last dose would be less, but some say there is a tiny amount left so perhaps with an insulin syringe you could extract the last tiny bit. Or could have 12mg each time instead of 12.5mg and then you’d get 5 doses.

12mg is 48 clicks and 12.5mg is 50 clicks.

If you know 12.5 won’t work then why would you do this?

Click counting should be just the same.
How long have you been on 15mg? Were you already thinking of titrating down?
I’m prescribed 15mg but have never taken more than 6.5mg in over a year, so have several months worth left until I see a new style pen.

Do the new style pens look/operate differently from the current pens? I haven't had one yet.

I've been on MJ in total for 17 months and on 15mg for I think 3 months.

I'm a stone away from goal so was hoping to stay on 15 until I got to goal and then slowly hopefully titrate down so save money as in currently paying £270 a month for 15mg (I know there's slightly cheaper places but it's not worth it for £10 or so with me being so close to a healthy weight now my BMI is 26)

To try to save money. I'm currently paying £270 for 5 doses (4 plus the "golden dose" but now it's going to be the same money but for 4 doses as no golden dose left. So I thought if I could buy a 15 pen but get 5 lots of 12.5 out of it that would save money

But if 12.5 won’t work for you (as you suggested in your first post) then surely you can see you’re wasting money ?

The maths works, but does the dose?
How long ago did you feel you needed go up to 15mg?

50 clicks and no , 1 full dose is 60 clicks and a pen is 240 clicks (without golden dose)
5 does of 15mg pen is 48 clicks per dose so about 12mg

Just to add as I know your from our OP group just do this when ready to go down , I desperately want to lengthen my 15mg too but only start doing it when ready 15mg to 5 doses then 6 doses then 8 doses etc we both in same boat 🤗
