I know I’ve lost weight but I just can’t see it

I lost nearly 2 stone and just inside the bmi bracket considered healthy. I can feel my clothes are fitting better and looser. Someone took a picture of me today ng and I look like a whale 😩. I was wearing a loose, floaty dress which looked okay in the mirror but I just felt like I looked before the weight loss. My posture is awful and I probably need to exercise more. Just feeling very negative at the moment.

I'm very lean and floaty dresses still manage to make me look tubby - as soon as you aren't standing perfectly they bag and bulge. A huge part of this will be your posture.

A single still photo is not representative of your weight loss or your current size. As you’ve already said, posture and toning would make a big difference. Don’t let one image get to you an make you discount your progress!

You know the truth. It took 4 or 5 stone before the work noticed my weight lose or started commenting on it. Keep doing whatcha doing.

Photos can do that. Someone took a photo of my 7 and a half stone size 6 daughter the other day and the angle/way the wind was blowing her dress made her look enormous. We had a chuckle as she’s actually really tiny. Don’t believe the photos.

What they all said. You need to take/get someone to take a good number of 360 photos so you can see it. In a fitted outfit. I always used to forget the back of me would also lose weight 🤣
That’s why floaty dresses are used as coverups for women feeling low confidence, as they hide a lot. So stands to reason they also hide a slimmer figure

Same I’ve lost two stone and feel really fat / thought tbh I still am, with a BMI of 27. People keep telling me I look great but I think they’re being polite or I looked ghastly before.

I’ve lost 4 stone and am still wearing the same size pants and underwear… the reality is I was much bigger and more uncomfortable than I was willing to face… I still at 4 stone down look at photos of my tree trunk legs in shock

Try not to beat yourself up and don’t turn to old comforts … chocolate and chops etc… forgive yourself and try to tell yourself inside your heart and organs are thanking you!!

Photos can be terrible whatever size you are, try not to dwell on it.
However, at the same time I had to lose 5 stone before people really noticed, and now I’ve lost 7.5 stone I still look at myself and can’t see a slim person, I still feel fat! It’s weird. I guess it takes a while for your brain to catch up.
