Weightloss patches, has anyone tried them.

Has anyone used these before? Has anyone found them useful? After being rejected for the weight management clinic, I thought I would try something else and these came up several times on my in-game ads. I bought a two week trial pack. I am only 4 days in. Maybe i should have assumed it would be a good idea to move the patch slightly each day but it didn't occur to me and it's actually injured me. It doesn't hurt but it is very itchy, not unlike a spider bite. I have put today's patch on my arm..

Oh. These are the berberine ones, usually, I think? I hope they weren’t too expensive as they won’t do anything at all beyond the placebo effect. These sorts of things normally contain a small amount of berberine and other extracts like cinnamon and similar. There’s no evidence that applying a small amount of berberine to your skin will do anything at all.

If you’re interested in berberine you can buy high strength berberine tablets from places like Holland & Barrett which contain significantly more berberine than the patches.

You're probably getting an allergic reaction to the glue, you could try an oral antihistamine and/or an anti histamine cream.

You should stop using them and speak to your pharmacist or doctor, edited..spelling

You could try another WLI pharmacy or is there a particular reason they wouldn't prescribe to you? It doesn't seem worth using these patches.

I see these ads in games too. It is very obvious they are a big scam, from the extreme weight loss videos to the dodgy Boots branding,(and you don’t buy from boots).

ni there is no evidence rubbing small amounts of berberine on your skin makes a difference. In fact you can buy tablets thousands of times stronger from Holland and Barrett or Amazon, and quite frankly they don’t do anything either.

Also don’t buy the glp patches either, they are also a scam. Rubbing tiny amounts of cinammon on your skin does not make you lose weight either.

No, my consultant thought i should eligible for weight loss injections on NHS. I cannot afford to go private.

It’s nearly impossible to get them on the nhs. It’s diabetes when all other diabetes meds have failed, or very signficant obesity with it or it’s bmi 40 and a min of 4 weight related health conditions.

the nhs started prescribing in June last year and they are saying by the end of 3 years, ie mid 2028, 220 thousand people will have it on the NHS,

compare that to 7 million currently buying privately in the uk , and over 30 million eligible. So of the 30 million who are eligible to get it on the nhs, by 2028 they will have given it to 220 thousand.

the nhs is simply not offering it but to the very few with significant reason to need it, it’s due to cost.

Not sure how tight your budget is but there is the wegovy pill now, which at the lowest dose is just over 3 pounds a day, obvs the lowest dose may not work for you. But if you can afford it maybe worth a try for a month,

but bin the patches, it’s a scam.
