Hi I stopped taking wegovy after a couple of months about 10 days ago as i could not cope with the side effects.

I am still felling ill, I am nauseas have really bad indigestion and exhausted. Is this normal after stopping? Should I be concerned?

I am not taking Wegovy but it takes about 5 to 7 weeks for the medication to fully leave your system. 10 days would mean there's still a reasonable amount in your system. If you still feel like that after another couple of weeks then I would investigate further.

Some people respond instantly to the initial WLI doses and sometimes have to drop down to a half dose and then build up very slowly but not sure how that helps you, because every body is different.

I think if you’re still feeling very rough you should speak to your GP.

I’ve been on MJ for almost a year without any serious digestive issues but my GP is aware and I have regular blood tests too.

Are you seriously obese or just wanting to drop a few pounds? If you’re clinically obese and need to lose weight, you could consider Mounjaro as some people tolerate that better?

Thank you for the replies, I have a few stone to lose but I have already tried MJ and i had extreme side effects to that too, which is why i tried wegovy.

Interesting that it takes that long to leave your system. I will give it a while longer and if still not right see my GP.

Guess its back to calorie counting for me.

Sorry that you struggled on MJ too.

Did you reduce the starting dose by half and did you eat ‘clean’ whilst on WLI?
I’ve read posts from others on here who didn’t make much attempt to change their diet and were still eating fatty and carb heavy foods and that was definitely causing them digestive issues. Although it sounds like you’ve been careful.

Some people are naturally strong responders to the initial dose so starting at a much lower dose might work using click counting?

Sadly, some people simply can’t tolerate the drugs and have to give up. Maybe wait until the next variant of WLD are released to try again?

I also felt really nauseous and exhausted when I started wegovy, I was actually worried I was pregnant at one point. It did pass after a while though and I was fine on it after that.

I think it does take a while to completely come out of your system. I stopped wegovy around a month ago but I felt like it's taken a while for my appetite to come back and for other effects to gradually subside.
