Mounjaro to wegovy pills

I’m contemplating this. I lost 3 stone last year and recently started MJ again as I noticed a few kg going back on. I’m on a 5 pen at the moment and thinking of switching to wegovy as I assume it’s cheaper and pills sound a lot easier….
Has anybody done this?

DH tried mounjaro last year and was losing weight well but had to stop it as couldn’t tolerate SE’s and was really poorly. He’s recently started the Wegovy tablets - about 10 days in so far and is much happier on them.
You have to be quite organised with taking them - take on empty stomach at least 8 hrs after you last ate/drink anything. Take with a max 120ml water and then no food or drink for 30 mins after taking tablet.
So far so good though - he’s had no adverse effects at all, and has lost just over 3kg in the first week. He’s much happier on them than the jabs.

Having tried ozempic, which is semaglutide ie the same drug as wegovy, and then tried mounjaro, which is tirzepatide, I can say that mounjaro is much more effective.

However, for anyone who wants to try pills rather than injections then it is worth a try.

Price wise it is only cheaper if it actually works as well for you and statistically tirzepatide reports fewer side effects than semaglutide.

I’ve decided to switch for a month- it will save some cash over the summer and be easier with holidays. Fingers crossed it works as well as @Ratherhaveacupofteaandabiscuitsays - only cheaper if it works!

I never really get why a tablet daily is easier than a weekly injection, the weekly injection is so quick and easy and then you don’t need to think about it again. Where as with the pills you’ve got to follow some basic rules each day,

also I feel tne temptation will be strong to miss a day so you can eat or drink more sometimes which can escalate , leading to much more lack of discipline.

if the mounjaro is unaffordable it’s absoltely worth trying, but if it’s affordable I’d really think hard

I was thinking it would be easier mainly because we are away on my injection day at least twice, having to fly with the pen etc. But generally the injections are hassle free.
I haven’t really had bad side effects but I do notice I am very tired the day after my injection and it does wear off about day 5 a bit. It will be interesting to compare - I feel better knowing I can switch back.
