Has anyone stayed on a low dose of Mounjaro rather than increasing?

I’m currently in my third week of taking Mounjaro. I started at a BMI of 28-29, hoping to lose around 15-18kg so not a huge amount but enough that I was aware that I needed to get on top of my binge eating before it took over my life.

So far it’s been really great. It’s completely switched off my constant hunger and sugar cravings, I actually feel full and stop eating during meals, and I’ve had no side effects beyond mild nausea. I’m down about 5kg (trying to only weigh myself weekly and not fixate on numbers) and am eating roughly 1,200-1,500 calories per day.

I need to order my next pen. Would it be unreasonable to stay on 2.5mg? I feel like this dose is working well for me, and I don’t want to end up under fuelling for exercise (I train 5-6 times per week) or rapidly lose weight only to pile it back on again. Slow and steady is better than rushing things, right? My only concern is that I get to week 5 and find that it’s not enough and have to wait three weeks to go up a dose..?

Has anyone else just stayed on a low dose?

And of course they want us all to buy more pens and spend even more money.

I’m not seeing a conspiracy to fool customers for the sake of profit to be honest. If they don’t have the data that the medication is stable and remains uncontaminated for more than 30 days, they don’t have it. And as you can see from this thread, people do want they want regardless, so Lilly aren’t going to be able to prevent anyone for using a pen well past the use by guidance.

It's not a money making machine. Medications are licensed for certain usages and that's because they are tested on these conditions.

Maybe in the future there will be different sizes or they realise a shelf life in the fridge of more than 30 days is safe. The new tablet form may change things as they are cheaper than the jabs so we will see.

I never count clicks, I do the full dose and for me it works. Anyone has to make their own decisions if they want to do 1/2 doses.

@MeridaBrave which provider lets you order every eight weeks? I plan to do this but I thought maximum between orders is 6-7 weeks

Chequp also allowed up to 8 weeks between orders. I've not used them recently though.

Question for those doing half doses/counting clicks - how do you get enough needles? @MeridaBrave

@somekindof many pharmacies send a couple of spare needles with each order, so 5 or 6 needles instead of 4. You can build up a stash of spares that way. Really, all pharmacies should send out more than 4 in case of issues with a wonky needle.

You can buy a box of needles and wipes.

As it happens I started with Shemed and they sent a box of 100 needles and 100 wipes but after that pens came without needles or wipes. I’ve moved away from Shemed but still have loads of needles left!!!
