Do I need to clear my schedule to start WLT?

I’m planning on starting treatment soon but I’m wondering do I put it off until after the summer holiday/work stress madness has settled down. Will it work if I’m not able to plan diet/exercise around it?

What they do is reduce your appetite and make you feel fuller for longer. That will work, if they work for you at all, regardless of whatever planning you do around your diet or exercise.

I have lost 11st on weight loss injections, and I haven't calorie counted or worked out macros or anything like that. I just ate less, and ate healthy things. When I had lost a chunk of weight I started C25K which is as planned as my exercise gets. Other than that, I was just much more active.

I wouldn't put it off but do start with a low dose and see how you feel. If you have side effects, stay on the low dose until you've got on top of that. Yes, you do need to chnge yoru exercise habits etc, but honestly, in the first instance, just start the meds and kickstart the process. Good luck

Nah dont put it off.. get going now.
Drink lots of water and eat clean. No fatty fried stuff to start with, eat smaller amounts, can always go back and eat the rest later.. stop as soon as you feel full.

I waited until after a holiday because I was a bit worried about what side effects I might have.
I did get a banging headache the first 4 days, which would have spoiled my break so it was the right decision.

But I wouldn't put it off due to lack of planning in everyday life.

I’m a pretty healthy eater anyway, I just eat a bit too much of it and I get busy and snack etc. Probably the fattiest thing I eat is houmous, so calorific unfortunately. I need to exercise more but the heat waves and business have got in the way of that. I never lose weight when exercising anyway, it’s so annoying!

You’ll lose weight on the jags with exercise. Don’t put it off, my only regret is not starting sooner.

AgnesMcDoo · 14/07/2026 14:30

Just take it today and get on with starting to lose weight.

Absolutely no reason to put it off

Itscoldouthere · 16/07/2026 00:01

You should plan to exercise, as you will loose muscle as well as fat, try to exercise alongside taking WLI, muscle helps to burn fat and will keep you more healthy in the long run.
make sure you eat enough protein and fibre.

MyDarlingRose · 24/07/2026 16:36

It should still work as you will simply want less food

Hello, so update. I started! I’m 1 week into the wegovy pills. Lost 3lb so far. I’ve tried to walk a bit more. I think I’ve managed 2 hours extra walking this week but I can build on that. Food wise I’ve just stopped snacking which is really odd because usually I eat all day. I think I need to start reducing portions a bit. Yesterday i tracked and had 1400 calories.

Well done OP, no point putting it off because there’s always something and you could end up putting it off forever.
