Does staying on a low dose and losing slowly make maintenance and keeping the weight off easier?

Just that really, a question from the “low and slow” thread. Most of us are either staying on a low dose and going up doses v slowly in 0.25-0.5 mg due to unpleasant side effects or because we are “super responders”. It does seem to result in a slower weight loss of o.5. -1 lb a week so our journeys will be longer but we were wondering if that has a benefit longer term in terms of maintenance and keeping the weight off easier. People’s actual experience would be great to hear, thank you.

I started at 10 stone and target weight is 8 stone. So I lost a stone in about six weeks, regularly loosing weight. It was great because I had stalled for years.

I don’t know what happened mentally but I couldn’t be bothered to diet and exercise so intensely. Not that it was that intense, I think I am talking about the mental intensity of watching what I ate.

Staying on 2.5 during that six weeks resulted in maintaining my stone but not putting it on. Also I was eating a lot more ‘normally’ so to me this is a result.

This week I am starting to increase to 3.75 and I feel mentally ready to go for the next stone. So I don’t know if that makes me low and slow but I have done it my way so far and with very few nasty side effects. It has suited me.
