Titrating down doses - any advice on my plans?

I've lost about 20kg and took my final 7.5 dose yesterday! I am now looking at titrating down my doses - I won't be staying on maintenance as I'm planning on trying for a baby.

I have a new 5ml pen in the fridge and was thinking of doing:

  • 3 x 5ml doses
  • 2 x 3 ml doses
  • 2 x 2ml doses

Does that sound like a good plan? Or would you order a 2.5ml pen and do the standard 5 doses at 5ml and 5 doses at 2.5ml? Obviously that would mean paying another pen and waiting a few more weeks before trying to conceive.

Honestly, for titrating down I would normally say I preferred to play it by ear rather than plan ahead as I went down the doses to give myself the best change of long term maintaining.

But you have much more important and exciting things to think about! I don't think an extra 4-5 weeks is going to make a huge difference in the bigger picture and realistically you are going to put on weight anyway!

I think for your circumstances your plan is fine, and concentrate on eating healthily and nourishing your body in preparation.

You can always reinitiate treatment at a later date if you need to.

My advice would be don’t rush it. I came down at the start of the year with a view to coming off. Had a holiday and put on half a stone (it was Florida) and dropped my dose again when I returned. I’ve maintained but not been able to lose that half a stone. In hindsight I should not have tried to reduce dose over a holiday and should have taken it slower. Maybe play it by ear and see how you are feeling

I'd also advise not rushing it. Titrate down slowly. It's the best way to let your body get used to having less. If you don't adjust the hunger will just surge back and you'll end up eating more again.
