Hi,
I have taken 2.5 mg of mounjaro for 5 weeks and was tolerating it fine apart from tiredness and unsettled stomach mainly after the first dose. I went on holiday and took a 2.5 week break during which I continued to eat v healthily and came back hardly put on 0.2 kg. I took another 2.5 dose 4 days ago but just can NOT tolerate it. I have been in bed most of the 4 days with a lot of stomachache and just can’t fathom eating any food. I have tried EVERYTHING and hardly managed to eat 450 cal at most one day and the other days not even that. Is it normal to react SOOOO strongly after taking a break !

Anything is possible. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Did you fly on holiday? Could it be something you’ve picked up rather than the MJ? I’m definitely prone to picking stuff up on planes.

Maybe consider click counting and taking half a dose with 30 clicks next time?

Thank you. I didn’t pick up anything else absolutely fine. I waited two days when I came back before I took the dose. I had very strong reaction the first time around but it got better week 3, 4 and 5. I am thinking of taking 1.25 mg. Not sure if taking 1.25 every five days for example is better or taking 2.5 every 10 days. I just have to do something because I’m eating 400 cal a day and that’s forcing myself and I am v very tired with constant stomach pain and extreme appetite suppression.

I'd personally try 1.25mg every 7 days. I wouldn't recommend 2.5mg every 10 days as you will still get a big spike when you first inject. Try 1.25mg for a couple of weeks and see how you get on, then move up, perhaps to 2mg if you aren't confident of 2.5mg. But see how you get on.

I use Mounjaro as well and while I haven't had a break as long as yours, I've noticed my body doesn't always react the same way from one period to the next. I tend to take quite a steady approach and listen to how I'm feeling, and what you're describing sounds much stronger than I'd expect. Four days with very little food and being mostly in bed would make me want to check in with my prescriber just to be safe.

Thank you everyone so much.
UPDATE
I was really unwell for 8 days, debilitating tummy ache, eating 300 cal and mostly in bed for 5 or 6 days. I drank 2L as even water was painful for my tummy. I walked almost everyday to keep my system going, albeit very slowly with a break every 5-10 mins as I was getting dizzy. These two things were my saviours. I managed to eat the last two to about 600 cal but very light foods. I almost recovered on the 8th day, not fully but maybe 80%. I took a 1.875 dose last night, feeling fine and 800 cal which I am comfortable with. Thank you for your help and suggestions,
