Wegovy pill coming soon to the UK?

Just received an email from Juniper offering for me to sign up to the waitlist to be notified when the pill form of Wegovy becomes available later on this year in the UK. How soon is it going to become available? Has anyone on here not in the UK tried the Wegovy pill and experienced positive results?

No one knows exactly when it will be available, it could be in a week or in a few months. It just depends on when the MHRA get round to approving it. The fact that pharmacies are mentioning it and setting up waiting lists means that they expect it to be sooner rather than later, though.

I’ve just joined the SheMed waitlist for info on this too. Interested in the cost difference mainly. But also happy for things to take a bit longer. I wondered if it might be suitable for maintenance .

I took Rybelsus tablets, which contain semaglutide for diabetes.

They were pretty awful. I only lost about 6lb in 5 months, I had horrific gastro symptoms, and they didn't help my blood sugar.

They were not allowed to prescribe Ozempic in my area at the time due to shortages. I was finally allowed to start Ozempic about 6 weeks ago and have done really well on it in terms of blood sugar control, weight loss, sugar control and I have had almost no side effects.

Thanks for starting the thread @AppleJuiceAvid I’ve been looking for one, now it’s been approved.

My question was going to be how much is it likely to be and how do we compare costs, so thankyou @Healthcount
