Less weight loss with Mounjaro second time round, anyone else?

I was lucky enough to have great success with Mounjaro initially. I lost 7 stone in just over a year and got down to a ‘healthy’ bmi for the first time in my adult life. I stopped buying jabs when the prices went up, I maintained for a while, but a few miserable stressful months sent me spiralling off in the wrong direction, and I ended up putting 2 & half stone back on.

I tried loosing independently but wasn’t having much success. I’m now back on the jabs, but not seeing the losses I had first time round. Half a stone on the first 2.5mg pen, I’m just over a week into my 5mg pen and no difference yet.

I’m barely noticing any suppression at all (first time round I was totally floored with suppression and side effects of just 2.5mg).

Is anyone else in the same position?

It’s so disheartening to be buying these jabs (at much higher prices than before) and seeing very little in terms of results.

Any top tips? I’m determined to shift this last 2 stone and get back into all the clothes I bought when I finally got slim. I know it sounds shallow, but buying bigger clothes again feels like giving in to the gradual slide to my original size, and I’m determined to fight it. Loosing the weight was genuinely life changing and I can’t bear to go back.

What dose were you on as your main dose.

it is anecdotally tougher the second time but suspect that’s as there is no placebo effect.

7 pounds in 4 weeks is a good steady healthy weight loss.

Half a stone in the first 4 weeks sounds like good weight loss to me.

It's tolerance, even if you've had a gap, your body was used to a dose so mist likely you will need to go back upto the same one to lose better.

I can really relate to that frustration. I’ve struggled with emotional eating and evening snacking in the past, so when progress slowed it was easy to feel discouraged. What helped me was going back to basics with smaller portions, regular walks and staying consistent. The check-ins through my medical service also helped keep me focused when motivation dipped.

Half a stone in 4 weeks is a decent loss. I’m currently a stone away from goal and have mostly plateaued for two months, still on the jabs and doing everything right.
When you first started you probably lost a lot due to water loss and changing your diet. This time you’ve been trying to eat healthier and lose weight before so you haven’t got that change to have an effect.
if you continue the way you are, you’ll just take four months to get it off, which is fab. Most people don’t lose as quickly as you did first time around.
