Struggling with morning nausea - help!!

I’m really struggling with nausea…

took my first dose 2.5 on Monday afternoon. side effects hit through the night on Monday, the most awful nausea, sweating, dizzy etc. Tuesday was horrendous.

on Wednesday around midday it was like someone flicked a switch and I felt ok. Was able to make myself eat bits and pieces and a bit of dinner that night. Woke up Thursday, awful nausea again, felt so fatigued and achy all morning too, then again around midday perked right up and by yesterday evening felt fine

Now I’ve woken up about 5am this morning feeling so so sick. I’m really struggling with this, I have 3 children that I need to feed, get ready and get up and out to school everyday, take the baby to various playgroups etc. Mornings are by far my busiest time and I am clawing my way through each morning feeling horrific.

is this normal to be this bad in the mornings, then it gets better for the second half of the day? And any tips on what I can do to help this?

at the moment I’m really questioning whether I want to do my second jab on Monday, especially with it being half term next week!

What time do you eat your evening meal and after that what time are you going to bed?

I found early on that if I ate too late, too soon before going to bed, it didn't end well. So if I'm in bed by ten, say, I try to eat my evening meal by 6.

What are you eating? It’s very unusual for this to happen, not impossible, but very uncommon. Also do you have health anxiety?

Ismo456 · 22/05/2026 12:41

I’m not eating anywhere near enough because I feel so so awful.

the only thing I can compare it to is a terrible hangover or bad morning sickness, but with no actual vomiting.

like I said I jabbed on Monday afternoon and today the nausea hasn’t subsided at all. So far I’ve eaten a banana, a plain biscuit and half a piece of bread. I’m drinking loads but even that makes me feel a bit sick

i do have health anxiety and I don’t think this is helping me, but this nausea and extreme appetite reduction is also very real and I feel very selfish this week as I’m being a pretty useless mum to my kids and just trying to claw my way through each day

It’s very likely to settle down as your body gets used to the medicine. But something people often suggest is taking half a dose, 1.25mg, to start with if you are very sensitive to the drug. You do that by turning the pen wheel only 30 clicks instead of all the way round for 60 clicks.

I was the same, started taking an anti sickness tablet, bought from any pharmacy, symptoms totally fixed. I don’t really get nausea anymore, but keep the tablets in, just in case.

Not eating will have you feeling sick, very sick, so I’d wonder if your health anxiety has you not eating which in turn has you feeling sick and unwell.

Thanks all.

I now feel fine, but I did by yesterday evening too, just still have no desire to eat a thing. I will force a bit of plain dinner down me and pray for a better morning tomorrow. It’s really getting me down I keep hoping for a better day.

Does injection site affect the nausea does anyone know?

I think it's pot luck as to jab site and side effects.
I had anti sickness tablets from my provider when I had a few days feeling sick a few months into my journey.

If you don’t eat you will feel sick as a dog.

Honestly this was me the first week😭 I kept thinking “there’s no way I can do another jab feeling like this”. Mornings were definitely the roughest for me too, especially trying to sort the kids out🥲 crackers before getting up weirdly helped a bit. I’m doing Wegovy through a women’s support programme as well and the check-ins helped reassure me I wasn’t losing the plot😂
