The new Mounjaro pens

I've had an email from Med Express saying the style
of pens will be changing. Has anyone had a new one and can you say if it still contains a 5th dose if removed manually? Thanks

Also wondering this! Just got the email

So far it's only the 5 mg pens affected, although the rest will follow.

The new style has reduced the liquid in the pen so you will have a few mls spare to allow for priming the needle but definitely not enough for a full fifth dose.

The new pens don't contain enough for a 5th dose. From what I've read on here it's 1/4 to 1/3 of a dose

This is a good read about the new style pens and the mods are creating a list of the pharmacies who are already dispensing the 5 mg.

Hmm, that was my first thought too re the extra dose!

Allmarbleslost · Yesterday 20:47

There won't be an extra dose that's the whole point of the new pen

Cloud Pharmacy have already dispensed a new 5mg to me. I've not started it yet, but there clearly won't be enough for a full bonus dose. Perhaps a 1/4 or so of a dose, if very frugal with priming.

Thanks everyone. The extra dose has been my justification for spending £300 per pen. But if this reduces the number of doses by 1 for me I really don't think I can justify the costs 😢😢

Why are you spending £300? If you shop around there are loads of pharmacies offering first time discounts which bring even a 15mg pen down to around £260.

@RenegadeKeeblerElf Do you have to send photos and start a new sign up process each time? Thanks

Yes, but for the sake of £40 a month I think it's worth it.
