Mounjaro and Wegovy Alcohol Noise?

Has anyone lost their desire for Alcohol on Mj??

ive lost 3 stone in 10 months on Mounjaro 5mg then went down to 2.5mg. i was overweight not massively but was miserable. its been a miracle drug for weight loss. i did not crave food nor alcohol but i was very ill towards the end with nausea and vomiting.
i used alcohol prior to mounjaro 4/5 nights a week only 1-2 drinks a night. it made me fat moody and ruined my skin. due to the fact i wasnt well on mj and at goal weight ive decided to come off it for a month and now im back at square one with the alcohol and food noise!

thinkin of switching to wegovy for maintenance and food and alcohol noise removal again whilst dealing with unhealthy drinking habits.

has anyone been through similar please share your experiences ❤️❤️

I didn’t find wegovy did anything for good or alcohol noise-it was a waste of money compared to mj.

Yes I still enjoy a drink occassionally but have no desire for alcohol (on MJ).

My friend who is a lifelong "big drinker" ( a bottle of wine most nights I'd guess - more on weekends) has seen her alcohol consumption plummet to about 1/4, and her desire for alcohol has almost gone (though she is still drinking). This is a Wegovy side effect. She is very pleased.

I think they will be using GLP1 drugs to treat many addictions before too long.

Not tried MJ but 1 month into wegovy and not thinking about wine as much.
As I've become a complete lightweight and the hangovers after 1 glass... its much easier to say no!

Wegovy has helped me with this yes, I still am having wine but definitely not as much.

I was drinking two good sized glasses of wine a night, virtually every night. I knew it was adding to my weight problem but I couldn't seem to stop. It wasn't just that the desire stopped when I started taking Mounjaro, it was just that it never ever occurred to me to have a drink. I could walk down the alcohol aisle in a supermarket as easily as I could walk down the DIY aisle, without even glancing at what's available. What's more, if someone came round for the evening who wanted a drink, I could go down the alcohol aisle, choose whatever that person wanted, have it in the house for days beforehand and pour it out for them and watch them drink it without a second thought. It really was miraculous.

I take Mounjaro now about every two or three weeks, just a low dose, and that keeps the desire for alcohol at bay. I think this will be a huge thing in the future - I've heard of it stopping people drinking, smoking and gambling. I've also heard it's very good for ADHD.

From what a friend has said about Wegovy, it's not the same at all. Mounjaro affects the reward system in your brain (as well as making you feel fuller for longer) - I don't think Wegovy does that.

MJ hasn’t affected my desire for alcohol at all. I’m not a big drinker but do still drink.
