If you are taking 7.5 mg from a 10mg pen….

My brain is fried. I have spent time trying to figure out how many doses I will get from a 10 mg pen if I use it as a 7.5 mg so take 45 clicks instead of 60 which will give me a 7.5 mg dose. That means I will get five full doses out of a normal 10mg pen. But then I am left with a little bit leftover plus the golden dose how am I supposed to deal with that? Is 0.6 mil a 10 mg dose? So how many mil will I need to use for 7.5 mg ?

A full pen has (slightly over) 5 full doses. 5 doses of 10mg is 50mg. 50mg divided by 7.5mg doses gives you 6 doses with about 2/3 of a dose left over. But in reality, if you don't use much for priming, you'll probably get a 7th full dose.

In terms of clicks, 60 clicks is 0.6mls, so 1 click is 0.01ml and 45 clicks is 0.45mls

45 clicks or 0.45ml for a 7.5ml dose.

You will get 5 doses normally before the pen locks and a 6th dose using a syringe.

6 x 0.45ml =2.7 ml so theoretically only 0.3ml left after 6th dose.

You could consider just using 40 clicks and getting 6 easy doses from the pen, for a dose of 6.67mg. Possibly every 6 days or so to get a similar effect to 7.5mg, but maximising the pen. Then you could do what you like with the “golden dose”.

Can I hop in here with a related question for those that count clicks & extend pens life.. do you / should you keep them in the fridge because they are going over the 30 days?

Ohh this is v tempting…I’m wondering if this is too much of a drop down from 10mg. But I guess if I do it every 5 (or 6!) days it would be fine. Then could I split the golden dose in 2?I normally get 0.8 ml, so how many mg would 0.4 be?
