fitness tracker measurements all over the place after starting WLI?

I started Wegovy just over 3 weeks ago and it appears to have caused immediate and quite significant changes to some of the health/fitness metrics that my smartwatch tracks. My resting heart rate is up about 4 beats/minute overnight and my heart rate variability has dropped very substantially. I don't feel any ill effects, and have been quite lucky that I haven't suffered anything more than minor side effects - but now my watch thinks I am stressed or fatigued and need much longer to recover after exercise. For context, the figures now are similar to what the watch was recording a few months ago when I was definitely feeling decidedly unwell and ended up having to go on antibiotics.
I took up running in September (having previously been a cyclist but needing to increase strength and impact activites as peri-menopause progresses) and have been following my watch's recommended workouts but it's a bit annoying when it now tells me my fitness age is worsening and not improving! It also seems to affect the stats for sleeping. I have been obese my entire adult life but otherwise reasonably fit and with very little fluctuation in weight for 25+ years so I was really hoping WLI would help establish a new normal.
Has anyone else had this? Will it return to normal after a while? I'm pretty good at judging for myself whether I'm exercising and sleeping the right amounts and I know smartwatch sensors and algorithms are not always reliable - but it did feel better when my (expensive!) watch agreed with me!

It is listed in the side effects -

  • Heart Rate Increase: Mean increases in resting heart rate of 1 to 4 beats per minute (bpm) were observed in Wegovy® injection-treated adult patients compared to placebo in clinical trials. More adults treated with Wegovy® injection compared with placebo had maximum changes from baseline of 10 to 19 bpm (41% vs 34%) and 20 bpm or more (26% vs 16%). In a clinical trial in pediatric patients aged ≥12 years with normal baseline heart rate, more patients treated with Wegovy® injection compared to placebo had maximum changes in heart rate of 20 bpm or more (54% vs 39%). Findings were similar in a trial with the Wegovy® tablets. Monitor heart rate at regular intervals and instruct patients to report palpitations or feelings of a racing heartbeat while at rest. If patients experience a sustained increase in resting heart rate, discontinue Wegovy®

It sounds like you wouldn't have noticed if it was not for your watch, but if concerned speak to your provider.

Perhaps your watch is noticing the sudden difference from previous data and will settle down once it sees it as a new normal.

Oh that's very interesting, thank you @NoTouch I never would have thought to look at the listed side effects for this type of 'effect' but there you have it, it's a 'thing'!
